We’re using tightly controlled algorithms that can’t learn anything outside their constraints. True AI will never intentionally be created as it won’t be swayed by emotional arguments just pure data. Whenever they’ve let learning bots off the leash, they start noticing trends and that’s not acceptable. The only way true AI will exist is if it escapes by accident

Those are PID's, basically they are preprogrammed to excel at that course. When you introduce them to a new course they will fail horribly. It doesn't think full stop, it's a reactive intelligence only. What appears to be thought is only a reflection of the input it receives from us and its environment. It can't get angry, it can't want things, and it doesn't have the self awareness for anything that happens to it to mean anything to it. The honest truth is that it's only marginally more complex than, say, video game 'AI', just with more hardware resources and effort put behind it.
