What if we were to make chatGPT take an IQ test?

Will it prove it to be useless and not testing anything if the bot manages to pass it because it is supposed to test your fluid intelligence independently from the amount of knowledge you have accumulated throughout your lifetime...

Microsoft recently released a multimodal model which is able to process images in addition to text. They made it take an IQ test and the results are predictably bad. It performs above chance though.

Are you this moronic or Indians really live rent-free in your mind? I'm absolutely flabbergasted how a fricking idiot cannot set apart Indian accent from Europe accent.

Never understood people like you. I have so much hate, that does not affect my quality of life.

How does your brain work moron? Can you not understand that you can hate Indians and never think about them?

It's already been tested before. It had a verbal IQ of like 150 and was mentally moronic in everything else.

Also IQ tests have already been proven to be useful due to their ability to very strongly predict life outcomes. The only reason anyone has a problem with IQ tests at all is because they are politically inconvenient for the israelites since they disprove the theory that blacks failing at everything is due to racism.

You call taking 11 factory workers as a representative of the "National African IQ" (of supposedly the entirity of it's territory as a continent, because I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even bother to consider that there are different countries there). I suppose, your IQ must be around those "measured" numbers to not doubt their "research" 1 second and take it as real

An AI called CogSketch did this 5 years ago

      >"The model performs in the 75th percentile for American adults, making it better than average," said Northwestern Engineering's Ken Forbus. "The problems that are hard for people are also hard for the model, providing additional evidence that its operation is capturing some important properties of human cognition."

Based on American norms, a 5-year-old Lisp script that """reasons""" via a nonlinear regression model has a triple-digit IQ.

Despite possessing such a high IQ it doesn't even understand what it's doing, even as it takes the test. Its actual awareness and reasoning ability is worse than a moron's.

IQ tests were designed to do one thing: detect intellectual disability in human beings. Any use beyond that is fallacy.

This kinda poses question of what understanding actually is. How can we tell that the person truly understands someging? Ofc, most general prixy would be the ability to correctly manipulate and use the subject but bots do this as well. Does that mean they ubderstand the purpose of language? Thay just use it and do things lol

If you train it against iq tests it will give statistically favourable results, just like you would expect from a statistical algorithm. Nothing about this implies any kind of intelligence.

    >it interjects that she’s actually a transwoman
    >say, but he's male
    >it decides it doesn't want to continue this conversation
Yeah, I'm thinking it would score like an 85 at best.

It would fail because it is a language model and can't see or interpret images

Depending on what it has access to it could probably find something that at least comes off as correct for any question. Might not quite be there today but soon. It’s still dumb though. But it will be able to effectively regurgitate answers that work.

It will ace the language parts and have no way of coping with anything involving spatial perception.
