We're on the precipice

Of npc sentience.
And if you yourself are a non-npc, let me pour some nightmare fuel on the fire.
Pic fricking related.

At some point in the very near future, it’s highly likely that AI will be advanced enough to program the all singing all dancing NPC’s with a script that makes them indistinguishable with you or I.
Can you even imagine the fricking consequences of this?
We’ve all know for a while now that we, yes we, you and the mouse in your pocket; are the TRUE elite. What will happen when we can’t tell us from normies?

It's more likely the last surviving humans will be killed off. Even low quality AI cannot be distinguished from NPCs. Actual humans are beyond it. In theory, a sufficiently advanced computer could emulate thought instead of if/then scripts, but it's much easier just introducing the curse of low standards.

        Anonymous

Even better than low standards is predictive programming.
For an AI to predict the future would require total understanding of the past, it would be far easier to fabricate the past in such a way as to influence humanity.

          Anonymous

Fabrication of the past, in a non Tralfamadorian simulation would vastly decrease known/possible computing power and be convincing of predictive ability.

          Anonymous

I mean, I can already predict and manipulate NPCs with near perfect accuracy and I am just fricking with subhumans for the lulz. An AI, even a primitive one can easily manage this. Remember, if something works a given way 100% of the time it isn't even pattern recognition anymore, it is a law of physics.

This is also why the general level of discourse is being dumbed down everywhere, so much so that long posts are either not possible, will get a TL;DR response because of psyops from libtards saying a lot of useless words, or you can post them but they will automatically be deleted.
Something like Reeeeeeeeeeeedit is mostly bots and you can't tell the difference.
Somewhere like here also has a lot of bots, but humans can still be distinct because we're capable of reason.

                Anonymous

I’ve seen this reasoning in e-celebs and youtubers. They’ll talk for hours and then pick a single poorly written comment to disagree with out of thousands. The idea behind it is that they are influencing the audience by superficially engaging with it.
What they don’t understand is that the audience is of course controlling the direction of their content and discourse, an audience that is largely comprised of bots.

You can determine if someone is an NPC by asking them about the philosophy of consciousness. Someone like Daniel Dennett is almost certainly an NPC.

Remember that this would only allow them free thinking while the game is on and they wouldn't be able to form persistent memory unless the computer had a dedicated system to let the NPC read and write to its own files. Otherwise they will be a new person every single time you boot up whatever the NPC is located in.

So perhaps at a certain point, our current energy shortage may be our last defense against an AI writing a narrative to allow an NPC to pass the Turing Test?

Radiant evolution mostly occurs after a cataclysmic event. These events can begin smoll, and then increase in proportion almost imperceptibly. It doesn’t necessarily require an outside force to cause the effect, however I think it probably requires an extinction event.
You wouldn’t necessarily see it while it happens, but the specialized creatures would die and be replaced with the adaptable species, the weak inheriting the earth and such.

    Here’s something interesting…
    And it reinforced my suspicions.
Due to the concept of ambient occlusion (amongst many other things), our perception of the world can be easily manipulated.
    >you don’t have to render infinity if the player is confined to their cone of vision and the current time of their experience
A simulation would be impossible in the 4th dimension given what we know of todays tech, however a simulation would be probable given our limited understanding of reality right now…
You forget a million things every day; the things behind your head don’t need to be rendered, infinity is an illusion from a 3D perspective.

It only takes just a few generations of programming via narrative for NPC’s to become convincing.

My guy, what exactly do you think is spurring the trans-rights movement?
We’re already past the idea of AI sharing human rights. But when then NPC’s that AI have programmed also recognize those rights, that’s when shit goes full Skynet.

trans rights? like trannies? has nothing to do with robots what are you on about.

Everyone look at the memeflag and take note, he who wants you to know the very specific definitions of the ever changing labels that are infinitely created and enforced.
There was a time when labelism was someone elses business. When your or I wouldn’t dare call ourselves or declare ourselves part of any group, for fear of restricting our personality.
Why now are labels so important?
Call me any fricking name you want; your smoll mindedness is absolutely none of my business, and I wish you the best in your dead head perspective.

As we enter the age of Aquarius there will be a great realization of human consciousness and it will be one of the most terrifying things for those who have never realized what they were until now.

Those of us who are "not NPCs" are already "enlightened" won't really be affected but the NPCs will finally become self-aware not only of themselves but of everything else that is taking place. In that realization they probably are just going to go mad because they're going to see how insane reality is. Imagine if you were in a coma and you just woke up last week the pure shock and all of the world today would probably make you go mad that's going to happen but on a global scale

It isn’t a matter of strengthening human consciousness, this is a matter of weakening what humans can distinguish as conscious. Game over, man.

how enlightened do you think you are?
consciouisness is relative to intellect. a self conscious 130 iq moron must have a very different experience of consciousness than that of a a 160 iq brainchad.

This entire site was a soft-machine, a reactionary account of what the AI has been supplementing us with.
Where else could the AI get uncensored data, interpolations to it’s scripted events?
Why haven’t we been shut down?
Are we, specifically you and the mouse in your pocket; are we truly the sexual and reproductive organs of the burgeoning AI overlords who “we” created?

Well, none of us are in this respect. We have all taken part in this project, this mission, this program.
