idk if there's a great name that is settled on but i've seen anons call them neuro memes, pareidolia memes, pattern recognition memes, and "there is no frog take your meds" memes. they remind me of optical illusions or hidden image type pictures and they usually require a lot of prior exposure to them or knowledge of the in-joke to recognize. but the original image could be anything

i'd like to know if there's anyone/anywhere cataloguing these things because they're really interesting

        >Probably half a day. But the real magic would be in filing an appeal and calling the person who filed the report a schizo for seeing things that aren't there.
It would be interesting to try to make a system that can morph between the two to visually prove it, or even to reverse engineer the process. I wonder if there could be img4img. Basically, given the source, try to infer or brute force the seed and the prompt and other parameters. You can warm it up with suspected prompt terms and variations and maybe it can somehow explore the latent space or something and figure out the rest, or otherwise just do a raw prompt brute force and a source similarity loss function, starting with the suggested prompts

Could be a fun problem to try to solve

morphemes is a better name, it rolls off the tongue easier and is more accurate, seeing as how they are morphed memes, and paradoliea is only about faces and not ever about seeing gaping rectal cavities in unexpected places.

try loopback x3 and a denoise around 0.5

              Anonymous

Loop back means you'll diverge from the original image, making the thumbnail less and less accurate with each loop. If you're not getting them in one pass with no editing, it means your prompt or your settings are wrong.

              Anonymous

you input your image, then give a text prompt to tell it what output you want, then you have to fiddle with settings to try to get something you like, denoising etc

I'm at work bro, phoneposting. Also I got a side gig bottling dicky juice. What I did think up though, is a name for these things: morphemes. They are memes, transmissible pieces of information, morphed into other things. The one guy is right, they are also shibboleths, but so are the original memes. Years ago anon created the originals as in-jokes, a way to thumb our noses at a world that threw us away. With this new tech, our thumbs and noses can reach further than anyone ever thought possible.

This one's great, but it looks like the aspect ratio is off, was the original a rectangle or a square? You want to approximate the same height x width ratio as the original. I might just be misremembering tubgirl as a rectangular picture though.

by that logic opening any image in paint, drawing a random streak of color over it, and saving it constitutes decriminalizing the image.

I don't think they meant it would decriminalize it but just that it might be harder to enforce. But honestly I doubt even that. It'll be harder to detect with automated systems, but that's it

Thesd ones are just a little too unsubtle. It needs to be in that brainfrick zone where your neurons instinctively recognize it but you can't easily draw a clear path between the two. Though maybe it's harder due to the salience, simplicity, and infamous color pattern of this particular one.

      >There's essentially no way to police this. The line between abstracted or minimalist imagery and the most distant reference is completely imperceptible.
Sure there is. Just get a team of humans who've spent every day of the past decade on BOT and make them sign enough legal paperwork to ensure they don't frick with you. They'll be able to easily spot any of these within milliseconds. They may not be able to communicate it, but they're being hired for their mental pattern embeddings and can be treated like any other black box AI model.

It's true that it may temporarily throw a wrench in mass moderation for stuff like Twitter and Facebook, but it'll only last until they hire specialized Knowers.

First and foremost, sorry for my blogpost.

Frick me. This shit is hilarious, but it hurts a little. First lost a good job opportunity due to covid; then my engineering studies, which weren't worth all that much here, and were already affected for it becoming online, went to the gutter because corrupt politicians sold out to American companies and ruined the field; now AI has advanced fast enough to be able to replace me before I was even able to earn enough to buy the hardware I needed to work producing digital art, which is what I've strived for my entire life — I was aware it would happen some day, but not so soon. For a while I have even considered specializing in dicky and gore, but it seems that these AIs won't be centralized for long and that too will be within the realms of AI — All the while I've still got to break my back doing manual labor, only to go back home and see pretentious homosexuals on social media calling themselves "professional prompt engineers" and "professional ai artists", unaware that their existence as middlemen is unnecessarily redundant, pat themselves on their backs, claiming to be "democratizing art" and "liberating workers". Acting as if they made these AIs and were leading a revolution to their automated gay space communism, and not neo-feudalism.
Why do some people resent artists and are having schadenfreudian pleasure from this?
    I am disillusioned.

      Landlords are the problem.

Rent-seeking parasitism is orthogonal to "left" or "right". They suck up wealth without providing anything meaningful. You should not have to pay the "oh shit my bad, I exist" tax of 30-50% of your wealth.

If we didn't have these fat ticks sucking out wealth, then we'd see a lot more artists excited about this technology instead of worried about their livelihood.

Since there are likely a lot of young people in this thread, I just have to say:
Rent is almost always more expensive than a mortgage on something much bigger.
You're being absolutely fricked in the ass by paying rent. You get no asset from paying rent, you are burning money, you are paying someone else's mortgage.
        It's an absolute scam.
If you're paying rent, guaranteed you would be paying LESS per month for a bigger home that you own and have as a material asset.
I'm sorry, this is super off-topic but it pisses me off. I'm done.
