He put a bit over a hundred million of his own money into getting it off the ground, so yeah, he had a stake. His main issue with them seems to be that they were meant to remain a non-profit, unaffiliated with corpos, with clean datasets free of bias and censorship.
Instead, they added a for-profit, closed the models off from the public, took big Microsoft dicks to the the ass and mouth, and inserted copious amounts of socjus into the product. Then Musk failed at a takeover attempt in order to steer it back to the original goal.
Musk might be a frickwit, but I don't blame him for having a tantrum, he got a front seat ticket to watch as they destroyed the original vision and goals of OpenAI.
