I fail to see what's wrong with cheaping out. Especially when the alternative is to pay someone else to make what you personally want. Maybe you like enslaving artists, but I'd rather command a machine around instead.

                Anonymous

I see it as not being very different from piracy. You take someone's effort and use it for free.

                Anonymous

                "lol" is not an argument.
As you pointed out it takes effort for humans to produce art. Usually a lot of time, focus, and dedication to a particular work. Machines can do the same thing in minutes and don't take time away from even yourself let alone say a week+ of another human being's life.
You can try to minimizing it with laughter but that won't negate the point. You're paying for their time when you could easily avoid being selfish and just have a machine do it while humans live their lives doing what they want rather than what you want them to do.

Maybe your job is a tedious chore and you would love to get replaced, but people who make art or music went into it because that's what they're passionate about. Nobody does it because they want money. Money is incidental. If you take their jobs away what are they supposed to do? Thank the machine that saved them and become regular wagecucks that hate their job?

                >Nobody does it because they want money
Pretty much every artists I've ever spoken to has told me they only do furry porn for money. It's often deranged stuff like scat as well.
Considering your previous posts and this one, I get the impression you're going to continue a trend of being dishonest to ignore the fact that you're buying someone.
Acting as if it's funny, and acting as if because some exceptions get paid to do what they want, that all artists must be that way.
Pretending that there aren't people out there debasing themselves for the benefit of the buyer for hours each day.
I guess child labor is okay because they get paid. I guess falling to prostitution is okay because you can enjoy it sometimes.
It's okay to commission someone for gay scat art as long as you pay them enough while they're in desperate need. Right? They can just decline so no harm ha ha. lol.

It just seems so ridiculous, though, when there's so much unverifiable porn already - loads of underage-looking people on xvideos and other mainstream sites.

Also, while I recognize we're still in the relatively early stages of these models, while they do a great job at mimicking faces and scenery, upon closer inspection, even when fingers and things aren't fricked beyond belief, there are loads of giveaways in terms of lighting, weird artifacts (or lack thereof), etc.

IMO, wasted resources seems like stretch currently.

People should start arguing that making fun of AI that AI generated images with fricked up fingers is demeaning to people with genetic birth defects. If they haven't already.

          eg
          >I don't mind you criticizing the flaws in AI art and you're right to express your opinion. But please be mindful of the negative implications of making fun of these images. Some people have very different kinds of hands than you or me due to genetics or surgery. These kinds of comments affect their self-esteem and mental health. They are all valid and beautiful. the hands are an obvious giveaway. also in ai anime art the eyes and hair always have the exact same, generic style. prove me wrong.

I'm impressed. Can you share your art for comparison? Since you're good at identifying it, you must draw a lot.

          Anonymous

i used to draw a lot but since i was shamefully bad i stopped. idk what is so impressive about it, i guess i somewhat know what to look for. the hand in her lap has a weirdly large index finger and the other hand has a detatched finger that shades into the rock. usually you want to avoid different objects looking too similar/ sharing outlines when they're overlapping, it seems that the ai used for this image hasn't been trained with this concept in mind. the eyes and hair thing is just a pattern i picked up on, idk how to put it into words.

You should pick up drawing again. It takes practice.

i am aware, i'm also not against ai art. my sole point was that, at this point in time, there are still many obvious landmarks in ai art that make it obvious as such.

Keep in mind like 6 years ago AI images was warped twisted dog monstrosities and strange purple swirls. This is the progress made in that time. Imagine 6 more years in the future.
Not only that, that image was generated on a home computer by a user using an offline version of an out of date program.

you cant ban it anymore, its open source , that mean the code how its made and how to use it is free and in every corner of the internet and on millions of pc too. you need to ban and censor millions of private devices at the same time all over the world. Pandoras box is open man.

        >You can't ban it anymore because... open source!
Ban research, ban the repositories that host it, ban products or processes that use it, ban the repositories, ban people who discuss and set up a enforcement regime to minimize the spread of AI.
This would just be the start, we need a whole regime that is focused on being critical of technology, no different from environmentalism.

yes please ban it, I already have a local version running that I will use to generate images and sell them after the ban for lots of money.

seriously though, how do they expect a ban to even happen? OK AI art is now banned, this art I created was totally not made using AI I promise, like how would you even know?
