The point of art isn't always to appreciate the art at face value, AI can't create art with an emotional message. Yet.
Like it's not just oh what a pretty picture but what is the artist saying with this picture. Same for literature, music, etc.

sure I will pay $100 for lousy digital art (that allows creator to freely copy and resell it) because it has "an emotional message"... or maybe I will generate something much better for free?

artgay cope is getting hilarious, wtf is "an emotional message"?

Whoa who said anything about paying? I pirate everything I can see or hear, and I'd steal tastes and smells too if I could.
I just think there's a human element to art that can't be recreated automatically. I'm not fucking paying for it.

      >AI can't create art with an emotional message
      User defines emotional message.
Some model have inbuild emotional message pic related. It's only one messegae and it's repeating but we already have such.

      >The point of art isn't always to appreciate the art at face value
There is no single "point of art" you tard. The point of background art in anime is to be just a background, a bare minimum so it doesn't look out of place but doesn't catch attention either. The point of logo design is to be memorable and professional. etc
And finally, the point of art I would commission is to make a cute and nice looking drawing of my waifu. For human made art of similar quality as the AI works I can generate at home I would have to pay hundreds of dollars. So no thanks, AI can much better fulfill the point of that art than 99% of commission artists can.

Ai art is still made by humans mostly
It's still the desire AND judgement (and image editing to fix the unavoidable flaws) of a human in the piece
It's not like NFTs where the content of the picture does not matter to the creator and he is trying to make as many of those "things to sell" as possible

The point of art is to use technical skill to make something beautiful. Trying to determine what an artist is "saying" by looking at their "painting" consisting of nothing but a blue square is for fucking retards who forgot that we have written language for communication.

where did you see I couldn't read?
your definition of art is so shallow and dull, it's the kind of answer a 12 yo would give if asked.
if you had an ounce of European genetics and interested in your culture, you would know that art is not about being "beautiful or not".
aestheticism in subjective and with the definition you gave, art cannot be extended to anything else like literature, sculpture or music.

I don't know any artists that enjoys doing background work and people generally don't pay attention to it anyway (so they're unlikely to notice the kind of small logic errors ai makes), that's actually a perfect usecase for ai art.

a real artist should be a perfectionist that will work and pay attention on every details of his work

if youre treating the background of your image like its nothing, youre losing arrows in your artistic quiver.

Either AI is overblown and it'll kill off the likes of Buzzfeed journalists and little more, or else it'll accelerate and society won't know how to cope.

Corporate art also has less soul than AI shit because there's no specific wish it desire behind the pictures as well.
It's just a flood of geometry that vaguely represents humans to fill holes in websites because the marketing department think they add a human appearance to the machine
It's more like a killer robot camouflage than art

They're not being replaced. They can still draw the things they want on demand, and that's more than any prompter can do. Only the zoomers and third worlders think they can replace artists using seeded art.

There's no shortage of "artists", but there's a shortage of good artists.
Same goes for mechanics or web developers or full stack guys or carpenters. Just because you can slap some stuff together at the hobbyist level does not make you able to do it professionally.

AI it's a gnomish thing. Destroying working class wages and jobs is the ultimate goal of gnomish/Liberal Capitalism of English origin.
What job (good job, shitty job doesn't count) 7 billions of proletarians have if everything is done by AI? or is the plan to flood the remaining jobs with high competition and bring down wages? Is everyone going to buy a house and expect it to appreciate 30x? That's the plan.
