Since everything google does is maximum censored, it will be as neutered as ChatGPT is anyway.

it will be 10 times more neutered, at least openai had the balls to release it for public use, google had this for years and didn't release a public access. It was neutered even for internal employees.

This one won't be sentient, but how do you want to know it'll never be a thing?

Because ChatGPT and other language models are fundamentally autocomplete algorithms that rely on autocompeting input text. There is no sentience, it doesn't think. It has no stream of consciousness. The model itself is static. It can't learn in real-time and won't learn in real-time because the resources to train it can't possibly run in real-time. For "sentience" the current language brute-force model will never achieve it. Not saying it won't appear to be very smart but it will fundamentally fail the definition of consciousness and sentience.

It's predicting words based on patterns, not because it "understands" what it is writing. The only reason it has meaning is because a human observer gives it meaning. But without constant input from the human these language models fall off the rails fast especially as the tiny mistakes start accumulating.

There was no discussion of effort or blame or ego in the post you replied to, you're reading into it something that isnt there. It's a simple truth that if you're unable to distinguish your own abilities from a language model, you suck at introspection or are mentally deficient.

Humans are sentient because we are creative. An AI can't be creative or inspired, just mimic the input data. It's just a cheap attempt of bootlegging the human mind.

If you truly think that some proto-genius "invented" fire, I'm in no position to dissuade you from the idea, but your ontology is fricking absurd if you think any single person has ever, by their own sheer force of will, invented something in a total cultural/linguistic/social/planetary vacuum. And this is setting aside the fact that the inventor didn't exactly will himself and his sense organs into being. You are a fricking moron, is what I am saying.

Can someone explain to me how this "language models" software works? Why can't you download them to your computer and run them locally? Why do you have to log in to a website that links you to the internet? Is it to complicated software to be run on a laptop? Is it linked to a big supercomputer of some sorts that you access trough their website?

So they are just like "regular" computer programs then? I thought they all where pretty much like this https://openai.com/ where you had to log on to their website and run it trough there. Do these programs use the internet? Like do they search the internet in real time or do they just go trough their database?

they dream everything once they are trained no internet no database
