Either your mother is hysterical or you're a lazy frick endangering your ability to graduate with excuses and diversions.

You're here, so I'm going to guess your mother is right.

I'm a brainlet and completely replaceable by an bot. I have no illusions or qualms about that.

It's honestly her fault because she smoked while being pregnant. If she hadn't done so maybe I wouldn't be so dumb

Are the robots in your room right now? Where are you seeing them? Do you not need money to live where you are?

Of course anon, i believe you

I have enough money to travel the world and then skydive without pulling the parachute. It's not the most encouraging thought in the world but I honestly don't see a future for brainlets like myself. My generation will never generate enough wealth to start a family by honest blue collar work.

Factories will be running decades old machinery for decades to come. Not everything turns on a dime, there's a whole profitable world out there other than easy 5 figure desk jobs in IT.

Those jobs aren't being replaced by AI by the way. Industry is just firing all the dead weight the useless diversity officers saddled them with over the last two decades.

My mom is the opposite of yours and already understands how dangerous AI is independent of what I've taught her already. She's developing quite well.
It won't make people redundant now or even for a few decades but momentum won't and can't protect you forever.

AI is super fricking expensive to run and train and can go off the rails randomly
for most industries that alone is unacceptable. for more security-oriented things, if it's not running in their building on their network it's not even going to be considered in the first place.
AI won't replace shit. it might be able to answer questions very well, help us fuzzy-predict things, but it will only ever replace people who probably hated their jobs

What about five years from now? Ten years? It won't be as expensive then

You're behind the curb anon. You literally can run Facebook's chat model on consumer hardware TODAY as long as you have 64gigs of system memory.

    >hammers and screwdrivers are going to make people redundant

stop listening to propganda hottakes written by morons who got their jobs through nepotism. even if you are a low iq moron, you too can be succesful if you also practice nepotism. finish your course, get your degree, and start networking.

I don't think they're hot takes. I remember solving one of the questions used as an example and it just blew my mind that ChatGPT 4 can do the same now. It genuinely makes me feel sick

Hammers and screwdrivers can't assemble the object by themselves from just a few generalized inputs, AI can

Anon, maybe you should take that as a view in to how your mother sees you.
Is there truth in what she sees?
