i was just thinking you could invent a language that is easier to learn with help of gpt that could then be expanded as you age into adulthood - no more really tough words for kids. it's obviously a bad idea since toughness breeds toughness for other areas of life but it's doable and attractive.
since i wouldn't be able to tell whether this is garbage or something important, i'll go with my gut feeling that capabilities of any machine learning system are severly overblown.
I mean it's...pretty fucking important. These systems continue to surface capabilities far beyond what anyone expected, and we're getting something several orders of magnitude more powerful in, like, weeks.

No, what we're getting is a very good generalized tool that requires little manual groundwork for accomplishing specialized tasks. It's really more about extreme convenience and efficiency than amazing new capabilities.
