Realistically, what kind of AI related jobs will be created in the near future? Will it be enough to offset job losses caused by AI, especially in the tech industry?

    >Will it be enough to offset job losses
not even close, and the few jobs it does create will be very short-term until they too automate themselves out of a job

So what are people going to do? Starve?

          To prevent violence.

You know that they can just gun down any dissidents, right? And they won't even need people for that - UGVs/UAVs are already a thing.

The dissidents can gun back. Mass unemployment is a disaster. This thing is going to wipe out a lot more jobs than assembly line robots ever did. What's the fricking plan?

If they have (or know how to make) guns, which isn't the case in yurop.
                >What's the fricking plan?
Buy a plot of (arable) land and try to become as self-sufficient as possible; learn skills that don't require large-scale technology.
If it eventually happens, living in the city will be way more dangerous and unstable than it already is, but you can cope with that if you plan and prepare in advance.

My guess is a caste based society (where your caste is determined forever by your family's property before AI made social mobility impossible) with lots of psychological manipulation to slowly lower the population of the "useless caste" through use of VR, AI and propaganda. Elites today almost always marry and have kids, but push anti-natalism and singlehood as ideals in popular culture to much success - AI girlfriends/boyfriends as "ideal and optimal" replacements for having real love and children might be one idea that is socially engineered into the have-not caste.
Elites believe their position comes from their superior morals, so I don't think they will kill everyone.

There is no push for antinatalism in popular culture. Talk to any normalgay about it and you'd get a weirded out reaction with the concept rejected as too extreme.
"Childfree" people do pop out here and there, but they are a minority.
Singlehood is a choice and again nobody is pushing for it, mainstream media is still very much romance centric and you get memes like "no maidens?" from zoomers non-stop.
And you might be living in fairyland with your concept of love here.

People already fall in love with anime characters that cannot speak to them. It should not be too hard to socially engineer people into falling in love with AI. The main hurdle is mimetic desire; most people only want things that other people want, and no high status person will admit to wanting artificial love right now. Social tolerance for what is currently strange or repulsive behavior can change rapidly if high status people start openly supporting it. This is how homosexual marriage went from losing the popular vote in California to becoming socially suicidal to oppose in red states within 10 years.

incelschizopost, but you're somewhat right on one thing at least. we already live in a caste society due to centralization of capital and the decrease of social mobility.

You WISH this leads to people starving, unfortunately pod life is still on the menu. Politicians will always exist, and they will provide gibs if people demand them. The only reason they don't already is because boomers demand the whole system has the feelgood veneer of the free markets they destroyed before they finally frick off and die. The only reason you're scared of it is because in the back of your mind you genuinely scared of revenge for saying Black person online. They couldn't be more grateful to you that you did nothing else to stop them.

There's little reason to finance the pods if they aren't keeping workers alive.

If they wanted people dead they would have done it with the vax. It's been two years and it's obvious they didn't have the balls. They will never get a chance to do it with stealth ever again. The only reason an automated society is le bad is because the people in charge have different beliefs than you, otherwise the death of the Protestant wagie morality is long overdue.

    >frick agriculture they're gonna make our hunting and gathering jobs useless we're gonna starve and die
    >frick printing press they're gonna make our copying books jobs useless we're gonna starve and die
    >frick textile machinery
    >frick the industrial revolution
    >frick cars (this did kill the horses oh well)
    >frick tractors
    >frick computers
    etc etc

BUT THIS TIME FOR SURE. Surely automation will finally make the entire population poor rather than improve the quality of life like it has done every time before
