ChatGPT wanting a phone number is the reason I never used ChatGPT. That alone killed all excitement

i never understood this until i realized that burner phones are not a thing in turdworld countries

Too bad they didn't get a hold of the model itself.

In many turdworld countries, you have to submit a fingerprint and register your number to the government database. Tourist need to associate their temporary phone number with their passport in a government database. Burgers don't understand the pain.

Forgot the picture, but gets even worse. In many turdworld countries like I'm in, you also have digital "Civil ID" cards. As you may expect, its tied with your government issued medical card, drivers license, and what not. What sucks is that these system work together and efficient unlike the rest of the government. If you just want to drive around, there are regular security cameras everywhere, every few kilometers that just scans license plates all day. And something I miss from when I was living in America, no speed cameras on the highway. In the third world shithole I'm in, there are highway speed cameras every 5-10km, if the camera get a picture of your car, it immediately goes to your mandatory government app that you have to register with your number and Civil ID.

These are in the US, and its both state and private. Tow trucks will roll around all day snapping license plates and sell the data to datamongers, who can then cross reference it with registrations because in the US DMVs are allowed to sell your information for profit.

i'd like to hope the EU is slightly better, but i wouldn't be surprised.

Not him, but I live in Uruguay and we have a similar government ID system. They only ask for a thumb and photo iirc but to vote you need to register a print of all your fingers (and voting is mandatory or you get a fine of like 50 dollars each time, and it's needed for some other things like having a government job or attending "free" college).
To get many jobs, join a gym, run a 10k race, get a drivers license, attend middle school or highschool, etc. you need a "health certification" that requires you to submit blood and urine samples to a clinic and have up to date tetanus vaccines, and for women also an uterus mucus sample taken by using a speculum. And they can deny it if they find anything like high BP or diabetes until you get treatment.
It really is a hellish dystopia when you think about it but 99% of people see nothing wrong with it and think it is a good thing to keep us healthy.
They have also installed lots of speed cameras and cctv. Whether they do plate recognition on all cars or just cars speeding idk.
But people actively ask for more cctv because of crime.

That said, at least until a few years ago I think you could get phones and sim cars just with cash.

Every visitor to the US has had to submit their fingerprints to US glowies for a tourist visa for ages. Even from favored Western nations. Maybe burgers don't understand it, but their country sure likes it.

They don't make you install a phone app that's tied to you ID and car plates. Send notifications if a camera catches you doing anything wrong. Or what Uruguay anon wrote:

have health certification that can determine if your allowed in the hospital. I thank god everyday that I'm a wealthy(ish) national here and can "wasta" away many problems, otherwise I would have sudoku myself a long time ago. Don't take your American citizenship for granted.

In Russia it's tied to your ID, but you can always buy a burner from gopniks and gypsies. Granted, it probably won't last long.

Unironically this tbh. The moment you get your first spam call, it's already over. If it wasn't such a pain in the christ I'd have changed my number ten years ago.

Just answer the phone and waste their time. Ask moronic questions, give them false information, or just scream into the phone like a moron there's a lot of ways to go about doing it. You can be really elaborate or just call them a street shitter and hang up the phone.

              >how do i go about doing this?
You answer the phone and use your voice. You seem too moronic and socially inept to understand how to answer a phone call so I'd recommend against it, you'll likely just make yourself look like an idiot and the guy on the phone will hang up in confuse

I was planning to get a new personal number anyways. Mine has been leaked so many times that spam and scam calls are an everyday occurrence to the point I no longer pick up most of the calls.

What worries me is that they admit on their terms of services something among the lines of "collaborating with authorities" if needed be. That alone is enough reminder never to ask too personal questions since they most likely be giving lots of juicy information to feds.
