I don't care about AI safety and it seems as much of a theatre as cryptography but he once made a video on his second channel called "there's no rule that says we'll make it" or something to that effect which is one of the more impactful videos I've ever watched, period.
Edgy atheist fag type. Has achieved nothing yet and still thinks he is in a position to lecture others. His gross pube-beard and the fedora he uses for his channel picture suit him perfectly.
Yes. I started the "there's no rule that we make it" video recommended by anon and, literally, the first thing out of his mouth is >Sooo *sigh* there's a thing that I see people routinely... fail to get
He is a condescending homosexual like every other. In reality, he is not good enough to lick the shoes of the "common folk" that he sneers at and spits on from the safety of his keyboard.

Based. He literally stands in outside destroying your arguments with facts and logic.
I think I watched almost all of his videos including his appearances on computerphile and some podcasts.
I especially make fun of yud because I do know the difference between real world implementations of AI and the hypothetical agents AI safety research is concerned with.
Rob often highlights these differences and also presents concrete, albeit not perfect solutions to the alignment problem.
Yud peddles alarmist crap because he doesn't really belong in the field while Rob has a PhD in computer science and works as a researcher.
When you surround yourself with a certain issue and study it constantly you tend to not be able to see the forest for the trees, and that's what I think is going on with him. He thinks AI safety is the most important thing humanity is facing (and I'm sure it is from his point of view), but we are still a long way from any kind of AI that has a remote chance of becoming uncontrollable. The shit he is harping on about right now really doesn't start to matter until we get to AGI level AI. It's pretty obvious that LLMs have room to get better but I don't think there is any way to get from where we are now to AGI with an LLM. He probably isn't wrong about some of the problems we will face 20 years from now, the problem is that he tries to shoehorn these issues into the technology we have now. I have yet to hear a compelling argument for a dangerous situation that could arise from a rogue LLM besides maybe some hurt feelings. Despite what many people seem to think a language model hallucinating or saying nagger really isn't an existential crisis. We rely on humans daily that are much more likely to cause the apocalypse than any current AI model.
'Will AI will destroy mankind?' would make a good job interview question.
If you say 'no' that means you don't know anything about how computers work and the interview should stop there.
>If you say 'no' that means you don't know anything about how computers work and the interview should stop there.
What does how computer works have to do with "destroying mankind"?
Saw one video of his. Was full of bold, confidently asserted premesis that he didn't back up. Perhaps it's due to the popsci angle, or perhaps it's alarmism, but in reality any current model of cognition is riddled with staggering uncertainty.

Why do you shill these pants-on-head retarded e-celebs here?
Go back to reddít
No fuck him, he's a genuine morron.
>he's a genuine moron
>all he does in his videos is read and explain papers written by other people
lmao, what a self-own
>muh papers
"AI" papers
I'm not familiar with his work on AI, but I do like his 1996 trance album
Why does he look like /?

has he actually expressed atheism in an edgy manner or are you just mocking his appearance

if Bot.info watched robert miles they'd have been too smart to make fun of yud

But he does also make fun of yud. What the fuck are you talking about?

Once Bot.info finds out he`s a israelite they win the argument by their logic.

is this guy based or not
i liked his videos that got uploaded to computerphile
pretty much any person in tech posted here most of Bot.info will say is a retard
Says he won't get into SciFi bullshit. Makes a video about SciFi bullshit where AGI social engineers its escape.
Now I don't blame him for the latter, scifi bullshit is fun ... but don't be a hypocrite.
