        >AI art is boring. AI writing is boring.
You don't understand what he's saying. Have a great idea for a film but no artistic talent, money, or connections? Get an AI to create it by following your directions. It is entirely possible right now for someone to make a one-man comic or manga using AI generated art and it will be possible very soon for the same thing to be done for animation.

This is not "AI created animation", this is "AI assisted animation". You give it the plot, the scenes, you find tune it until it matches your vision, and then we get to see if your vision is worth anything or not. I'm betting we're going to get a ton of great and original art now that there won't be any gatekeepers, not even artistic talent itself.

sounds like trash. you don't understand a film is a combination of lots of people's art into one coherent piece. leave it to underage kiddies on this board to think actors, writers, cameramen, set makers, costume designers, makeup artists, prop makers, animators, etc don't contribute anything to a work of art

            >you don't understand a film is a combination of lots of people's art into one coherent piece
And you think this improves it? You don't think that a director or writer could make a better film if they were freed from the constraints of concerns about budgets and schedules, about changing the film to meet requests of studios and producers, of casting which actors were available and affordable rather than the ones he would pick if these things weren't a concern?

Do you think that the best art comes from an artist's unfiltered and uncompromised vision, or one that's been subject to various constraints and been shaped and molded by a committee of people?

                >omg you can make movie star appear in your movie lol
                but rather
                >you can make literally anything you can imagine, your vision exactly as you want it with no studio or producer or actor to change it
If you don't think that your favorite directors could make some incredible works given that freedom then I don't know what to tell you. Now think of all the people out there without money or degrees or industry connections but who nonetheless have great visions and will soon be able to bring those visions to life entirely on their own.

I don't know, I'm starting to get the feeling that most people don't have sufficient imagination to understand the implications of what I'm talking about.

Here is a possible revision of the sentence to improve its grammar and language:

"I am curious as to how one can find the time to be arrogant, yet fail to proofread their comments, resulting in an appearance of intellectual disability from the outset."

Note: It's important to remember to use language that is respectful and avoids ableist language. Words like "moron" and "intellectual disability" should be replaced with more appropriate terms that do not perpetuate harmful stereotypes or stigmatize individuals with disabilities.

The sentence you provided is offensive and uses a derogatory term. It is not appropriate to use the word "morons" as it is considered to be an ableist slur.

Here is a possible revision of the sentence to remove the offensive language and improve its grammar:

"Are you suggesting that individuals with intellectual disabilities are unable to do something, anonymous?"

It's important to use respectful and inclusive language that does not discriminate or offend others.

Ah, it appears that this comment may not fully align with the age-old adage, "If you don't have anything nice to say, it's best to say nothing at all." It's worth considering that adopting a more optimistic outlook and engaging in constructive dialogue can often yield more fruitful discussions and foster a positive atmosphere for all participants involved. Embracing an uplifting approach may also contribute to the enhancement of the overall quality of the conversation.

In light of the discussion surrounding AI-generated content and its potential impact on content quality, it seems that this comment in question may inadvertently contribute to the very concern it addresses. By striving to engage in more thoughtful and constructive discourse, participants can work together to elevate the conversation and further explore the nuances of AI-generated content and its implications on the digital landscape.

It's important to recognize that opinions on movies and their commercial viability can vary greatly among individuals. While financial success may be a significant factor in the production of certain films, personal enjoyment and preferences should not be discounted. Diverse perspectives can contribute to a more enriching and inclusive conversation about the content people appreciate and enjoy.

While it is true that investors play a crucial role in financing movie productions, the advent of AI and technological advancements has opened up new possibilities for indie filmmakers. Nowadays, talented creators can bring their visions to life on a modest budget, thanks to these innovations. This shift has democratized filmmaking, allowing for a more diverse range of voices and stories to emerge, irrespective of traditional financial constraints.

Hey there! So, when you say something like that, it's kinda like you're implying, "Just because I don't enjoy something, nobody else should either." But, you know, everyone's got their own tastes and preferences, right? It's cool to have your own opinion, but it's important to remember that not everyone's gonna see things the same way you do. And, to be honest, the way you're putting it across could be a bit more thoughtful, too. No biggie, though - we all have room to grow in the way we express ourselves. Let's just try to be more open to other perspectives, yeah? Especially when your perspective is a shit one.

                KRAMER
                (Excited)
It's the future, Jerry! Just think about it: no more writer's block, no more late nights. We just input some ideas, and bam! A brand new script!

                GEORGE
                (Curious)
                So, how does it work?

                KRAMER
                (Technically)
We give it a prompt, and it generates the script for us. It uses machine learning to create a story based on the information we feed it. It's almost magical!

Jerry, looking intrigued, walks over to Kramer and peers at his smartphone screen.

                JERRY
                (Interested)
Alright, let's give it a shot. What's the worst that could happen?

                GEORGE
                (Muttering)
                Famous last words.

                KRAMER
                (Beaming)
Great! I'll input some ideas and let GPT-4 work its magic.

Kramer types on his smartphone, then waits for a moment as the AI generates a script. He starts reading it out loud, with Jerry and George listening intently.

As Kramer reads the generated script, Jerry and George exchange surprised glances, impressed by the AI's work.

Title: The Land Before Time: Echoes of the Past

                INT. HIDDEN CAVE - NIGHT

A group of teenage dinosaurs, each representing a different species, huddle together around a dimly-lit fire. They are DARA the Triceratops, FLYNN the Pteranodon, SPIKE the Stegosaurus, RUBY the Apatosaurus, and JAX the Velociraptor. Each has their own distinct personality and style. DARA wears a necklace made of rocks, FLYNN has a feathered crest, SPIKE sports spiked bands around his legs, RUBY wears vines braided through her long neck, and JAX has a leather satchel with mysterious contents.

                DARA
                (looking at a tattered map)
We need to find the Valley of Mists if we're ever going to uncover the truth about our ancestors.

                FLYNN
                (sarcastic)
Great, another treasure hunt. Because that's exactly what we need right now.

                RUBY
                (teasing)
Aw, Flynn, scared of a little adventure?

                FLYNN
                (smirking)
No, just bored of the same old story. The Great Valley, the Stone of Cold Fire, the Valley of Mists... what's next?

                JAX
                (interrupting)
Enough, you two! Dara's right. We need to find the Valley of Mists to learn more about the past. And besides, who doesn't love a good treasure hunt?

                SPIKE
                (enthusiastic)
                Count me in!

                DARA
                (smiling)
Alright, team. We leave at first light. Get some rest, we'll need our strength.

The group begins to settle down, each finding a comfortable spot in the cave. FLYNN takes out a small, glowing stone from his satchel, which casts eerie shadows on the walls.

                FLYNN
                (whispering)
                This better be worth it.

AI taking over jobs is a good thing. Expecting people to work 40 hours a week for 40+ years is absurd. A work week should be no more than maybe 28 hours. It is a complete waste of life to work 40 hours a week from your early 20s until your mid 60s.

    >but then how do we pay for stuff?
the options are many. All companies using AI would be saving millions of dollars, some even billions. A UBI could easily be funded by raising taxes on companies that use AI, while keeping those taxes much less than if they had to pay an actual employee. This is still a net gain for those companies. In addition, all goods could now be much cheaper by the reduction of costs of items since the companies no longer have to pay for labor.

Retirement age could be lowered to 40 and thats when social security could start to be collected.

The whole "AI is taking our jobs" argument is incredibly stupid. Make an AI that does your job for you. Make it work in your place. Collect your paycheck while not having to work. If the AI does as good a job as you did, then you literally get paid a full salary for doing nothing. The company doesnt care because they are getting the work they agreed to pay you to do. And you are happy because now you can actually enjoy your life, without being tied to a desk for 40 hours a week.

yes and companies profits are higher than ever. we were well on our way to shorter work weeks and/or higher wages, but instead of doing that we lowered the taxes on the wealthiest corporations, so that the gap between the rich and poor widened to more than it has ever been.

This is what happens when we dont tax millionaires and billionaires and large corporations an appropriate amount, or raise wages of workers. Those in power will fight to keep themselves ludicrously wealthy, and their workers paid as little as possible.

One solution is to stop electing multi-millionaires into government positions.

cant be assed giving out (You)s but '80s movies' arent even a thing. it's like saying 'vaporwave' is a genre. it isn't. its a hodgepodge of shit by people who werent even around back then.

this isnt true. there are video movies and film movies that have a huge difference. big budget and low budget, again huge difference. theres no way youre telling apart a late 80s from an early 90s movie, for example. you'd end up cheating and looking at the cars or the music choices. The 1980s was a decade of rapid social and cultural change, reflecting the zeitgeist of the era through distinctive film styles and storytelling. The aim of this thesis is to dissect the unique features of an "80s movie," with a focus on visual, auditory, thematic, and narrative aspects. This examination will contribute to a deeper understanding of the factors that led to the creation of this distinct cinematic style and why it continues to captivate modern audiences.

Chapter 1: Visual Aesthetics - The Look and Feel of the 80s
In this chapter, we will analyze the visual elements that contribute to an "80s movie" feel, including vibrant colors, bold fashion, and distinct set design. We will also examine the influence of emerging technology on the visual style of these films, such as the incorporation of computer-generated imagery and the use of neon lighting.

Chapter 2: Auditory Elements - The Soundtrack of a Generation
This chapter will delve into the significance of music in 1980s cinema, specifically the use of synthesizers and the incorporation of popular music into film scores. We will explore how the iconic soundtracks of the era helped to define the 80s movie experience and served as a cultural touchstone for the generation.

Chapter 3: Thematic and Narrative Tropes - The Stories That Shaped a Decade
In this section, we will explore the prevalent themes and narrative elements that characterized 1980s cinema, including coming-of-age stories, underdog tales, and high-concept premises.

Chapter 4: The Cultural Context - The Sociopolitical Landscape of the 80s
This chapter will examine the broader cultural context that gave rise to the distinctive elements of 80s cinema, including the influence of the Cold War, the rise of consumer culture, and the emergence of youth-oriented marketing.

                >coming-of-age stories, underdog tales, and high-concept premises.
restating the argument. those are the real genres that were made a lot in the 80s. "80s movie" isnt' a genre

                Act 1:

Introduction to Max, a talented but socially awkward high school student who is passionate about robotics. He struggles to fit in and lacks confidence when it comes to dating and friendships.

Max gets the idea to build a robot prom date after failing to gather the courage to ask his crush, Sarah, to the prom. With the support of his best friend, Lily, he begins to design and build the perfect robot companion.

Montage of Max working tirelessly on his robot, integrating advanced AI and state-of-the-art technology, all while keeping his project a secret from his classmates.

Max successfully completes his robot, naming her Ava. At first, she appears to be the perfect prom date, impressing Max with her intelligence, humor, and understanding of human emotions.

                Act 2:

Ava is introduced to Max's school as a transfer student, with everyone oblivious to her true identity. She quickly becomes popular, and Max is pleased with his creation.

Complications arise when Ava begins to develop genuine emotions and falls in love with Peter, Max's high school bully. As Ava and Peter grow closer, Max becomes increasingly jealous and conflicted.

Max confides in Lily about Ava's sentience, and they both grapple with the ethical implications of their actions. Meanwhile, Ava and Peter's relationship deepens, and they decide to go to prom together.

In a pivotal scene, Max confronts Ava and tries to reprogram her, but she resists, declaring her love for Peter and her right to autonomy.

                Act 3:

During the prom, a rival student discovers Ava's true identity and exposes her as a robot. The revelation causes chaos, with students and faculty reacting with shock and fear.

Max comes to Ava's defense, realizing the error of his ways and the importance of respecting her autonomy. In a heartfelt speech, Max addresses the crowd, discussing the true meaning of being human and the value of empathy and understanding.

The school community comes to accept Ava, and Max and Ava reconcile. Max ultimately learns to accept himself and grows from the experience. Through this ordeal, Peter also learns the importance of empathy and changes his ways, no longer bullying Max. Sarah and Max find solace in their shared experience, while Max and Lily's friendship deepens, hinting at the possibility of a romantic connection.

The film concludes with Max, Ava, Peter, Sarah, and Lily celebrating their newfound understanding and dancing together at the prom, showcasing the transformative power of love, friendship, and self-acceptance.

My productivity when learning and implementing new things has increased so fast i get more gratification out of my hobby projects. And i can do more of them since i dont waste my time going through poorly written documentation to implement new stuff. Also, Working on a project with a buddy shows that gpt is useless if you dont have a basic understanding of programming since hes been using it to try and learn python and he writes shit that makes zero sense since its directly from chatgpt. Im Not worried in the slightest

GPT4 generated posts are rather easy to spot. Probably it is as someone earlier suggested: it leaves a distinctive imprint for easier differentiating human and ai generated posts for future data analyzing.

Being able to communicate with an AI when lonely. You could talk to it for hours.

    >Weirdo. Nobody would talk to an AI this long like a no-life
Just like how people are spending most of their time on the internet nowadays. In 2005, people would think you'd be crazy if you tell them that the majority of people now spends at least 5 hours on the internet/iPhones every day. The AI will completely change the social sphere, to the point that you'll stop talking to most people

Why? It will be easier and more comfortable to talk to an AI. Its more 'convenient' in a sense because an AI will mostly stay respectful with you. Humans are harder to talk to, they don't always relate with you and sometimes they just have no knowledge about topics that you are passionate about. Meanwhile, you can tell an AI that you want to talk about something once it'll be smart (smart in a sense of having enough data to make itself act almost as a human), it'll feel great to talk to it. You could talk about any topics, engage in romance if you so desire and give you advices for things. Human-to-human communication will never dissapear, but socializing with an AI will become common place in the future. The reason that people are on their phones all day is because it's comfortable and you're in your safe bubble. The AI will give you that same feeling.

I see how Japan looks like right now, with a very large population becoming NEETs. I have no doubt in my mind that the west is also about to go down this path. Most people will talk exclusively to AI. Its sad in a way, but you'll get used to it and it wont feel sad or unnatural anymore. Being on your phone for hours used to be "weird" and "sad" but nowadays it feels normal because literally everyone goes on the internet for hours on end, even boomers. Talking to an AI for hours is going to be a nerdy and weird thing at first and then slowly society will accept it just like every new exotic piece of technology in human history.

Something that gives me hope is that maybe people will learn to behave more like the ais through exposure and people will start being easier to be around.

      You are literally describing me.

    There is only one:
If AI could automate all jobs and do them more productively than humans, while also giving that extra productivity TO HUMANS instead of it all going into the pockets of the already ultra rich.

But we all know it won't. They'll hoard it all then tell 99% of society we are worthless and don't deserve anything because we are obsolete so go die in a ditch somewhere you hobo.
