They don't realize that it's an accusation. It'll be up to the school to actually prove that it was written using a third party tool. If they admit it, however, they will essentially be doing the school's work for them. It's definitely selective enforcement at work, though. Chinese students all over the West do nothing but cheat their way through school and the school's tell profs to look the other way because of that sweet international student tuition. I have met Chinese students studying in the West who couldn't even hold a regular conversation in English. How can these people make it through school? Oh that's right, they think Chinese is some impenetrable code language and that people can't figure out that for every single course available at a major university, an online forum exists for the students of that course to work together to pass it through cheating. Universities no doubt are aware of this, but again, international student tuition fees.

Kek very true, good point. Learn to play the system or it'll play you. Sucks that it has to be this way, but at this point everything is PvP. Git gud. Deny everything always.

That's pretty true for engineering degrees or any math driven subject. The math is the same everywhere. We all have to learn the same tools, just different applications.

People that lived a sheltered life and fell for the "honesty is always good lying is bad" meme they fed you in kids shows.
That rule is for friends and family, when dealing with authorities the rule is to deny, deny, deny. If they cant provenit they cant do shit. If you're lucky you learn that lesson when your still <15 and getting cought means nothing.

You understand how to use god's technology, and you need to ask for approval from people who can't even begin to comprehend what it can do. Be creative with it, you are the top of the food chain now. No one is coming behind you either - the phone/game controller generation can not type code.

Hm, if you know the topic well and have a least read two time AI generated stuff you can easily fight back. Especially with technological subjects where no one cares regarding you writing style.

In worst case you can always admit to use AI correction tools like Grammarly to make the text better. Same as hiring someone as corrector basically.

There are tools which can detect AI patterns but that doesn't mean they are plagiarism. Really, you need to rewrite every sentence in your voice. If this dumbass is not lying he condemned himself by posting about it in that community. This guy should just deny deny deny and sue the college if necessary.

If you get into this situation, lawyer up, say nothing without your lawyer, and bring it to court if they don't accept your papers.

    >b-but he used AI and that is plagiarism!
Until you have proof, you can't do anything. Only because your text "doesn't sound right", doesn't mean you plagiarized.

But, and that's the problem with ChatGPT, it is very weak in science. Sure, you get great texts, but it is lacking a lot in regards to details. Also scientific research requires insane amounts of sources.

Personally I think he plagiarized. It's most likely that he missed some stuff to reference.

If he has trust in his work, just bring it to court. Then the university has to proof that he plagiarized beyond 50 %. Good luck with that. But I don't know how he used the text. If he just rephrased sentences, he is fucked.

I've been using Midjourney for a few months to generate "unique" AI images. I put unique in quotes because I've used multiple reverse image search apps and have discovered zero copies, every single time. Does anyone know if they're truly unique? I've seen forum posts that claim AI art is theft because the algorithm was trained with billions of images, but if a generated picture cannot be found anywhere online, then I'm thinking it's impossible to link it back to a single artist (and possibly be sued for copyright infringement). Any anons have some insight on this?

      Anonymous

They're generated off a combination of your prompt and a randomized seed number. If you combined the exact same prompt with the exact same seed, it would produce the same image, but the odds of that happening are like finding two people with the exact same fingerprint.

That makes sense. One of the reasons I started AI art as a hobby is to make trannies seethe on places like deviantart. I guess I'll just continue on my crusade, then.
