Is AI really the end for any skilled white collared job? This is happening sooner than later.

Is AI really the end for any skilled white collared job? This is happening sooner than later. Programmers, engineers, doctors, business managers, etc. Art, music, video, financial advisor, insurance brokers. What can't AI replace in the next 5 years? Is there a point in becoming more skilled in any field that doesn't require a physical presence like a mechanic?

There will obviously need to be people to monitor AI and give inputs to it, but the thing is you won't have to be highly skilled to do so. It basically gives anyone with baseline intelligence the ability to outperform anyone with higher intelligence. There will be less jobs at lower pay. Since all the powerful AI will be hoarded by big tech, it will be impossible for anyone to ever get ahead again. The playing field will be too even except for those who own the AI models and computing power to use them.

So what do BOT? Isn't the only option to be one of the first to become an "AI utilization specialist" rather than spend hours learning hard skills like coding since a jeet will code better than you with a simple AI prompt?

      AI solves this

      >Is there a point in becoming more skilled in any field that doesn't require a physical presence like a mechanic?

Dumb bait post. A mechanic can be easily replaced by a robot.
      >car broken
      >rip out parts, place in new parts
all of this is easily done by a robot

We are much further away from having a fully automatic robot garage that diagnosis problems (need to drive car sometimes or perform physical inspections for leaks) than we are for white collar jobs. Also the cost with setting up the machinery, materials, and maintenance for it would fat outweigh paying a mechanic for 10+ years.

Once AI is fully developed, there will likely be very few jobs left for humans. The tasks that require complex problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision making will likely be handled by AI, leaving only menial and low-skilled jobs for humans. These may include cleaning, manual labor, and basic customer service roles. Ultimately, it is likely that humans will become obsolete in the workforce, as AI will be able to perform tasks more efficiently and effectively.

Exactly, so what happens then? Playing around with AI it produces extremely good results for code, explanations of things better than any lecturer, and it can create just about anything it seems if you ask it. And this is just the openai chat model

It's not, it's more efficient than human. The real problem is they are expensive and need mainternance. If something happen or the robot get old, company will lose a great deal of money.
As for human, when they get old, they are simply replaced. When accident happen, corpos will just accuse them of not following safety guide and won't compensate a single shekel.
So most physical labors won't be replaced simply because human lives are trash compare to robots

It's true that AI has the potential to replace many skilled jobs in a variety of fields, from programming and engineering to healthcare and business management. However, it's important to keep in mind that AI is not a magical solution that can instantly outperform humans in every task. There will still be a need for skilled workers who can understand and manage the use of AI, and these workers will likely be in high demand. It's also important to remember that AI is not a static technology - it will continue to evolve and develop over time, and new opportunities and challenges will arise as a result. As such, it's important to stay informed and adaptable in the face of changing technology.

If AI can create anything for anyone at any time, people will retreat inwardly into their own fantasy worlds. But at the same time, assuming we live in a post-scarcity utopia where the robots do all the work, the question will be if we want to bother creating a common culture instead of just living in personalized matrixes. Experiencing entertainment and creating something are two different things. Maybe we will consoom entertainment made specifically for us by machines, but at the same time we might create hand-made things along with other people, as a way to develop a unifying culture and as a way to keep in touch with other human beings and satisfy our inherent need for socialization.

We won't though. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the more accurate futures in see for humanity. You see it in Night city where there are poor districts where people live in squalor, but the rich are living in corporate apartments that are techno marvels. The poor can't be fricked to get off their asses and take over the world, instead they just are zonked out on cheap food and porn braindances.

The first company to actually create a body shop that can produce parts on site and replace and install them onto a car is going to make billions and insurance companies will flock to them and customers will love them because we have spent the last 100 years getting assraped by mechanics and body people so them losing their job to a fricking bunch of robots and some computer geeks isn't exactly a loss. I'd rather deal with a Delamin style service where my estimate is generated by an unfeeling algorithm rather than a person, and then the parts repaired in a day.

I never understood art as a hobby until I sat down and made a cosplay and man I was addicted. I'd go all day without eating just to cut the right shape and paint and add details and more details and get messy. It is pretty fun. Though I think a lot of people do stuff for clout and praise and not their own self enjoyment (or a mixture). So I think it is rarer to see someone enjoying the art process rather than the result

Trades are not in danger at all. Automation isn't even a reality for the foreseeable future. Anyone talking about plumbers, electricians, mechanics, etc, getting replaced with machines is just another soiboi that doesn't live in reality. What will get replaced will be actuarial jobs, cashiers, line cooks, and other low effort stationary jobs.

The robotics themselves are the limiting factor. Many jobs probably could probably be replaced to some degree if the robots could move and articulate well enough to be fast and maneuverable.

      >What will get replaced will be actuarial jobs, cashiers, line cooks, and other low effort stationary jobs.

Yes ia, except for line cooks. Physical jobs like that are a bit further away because the robotics necessary to replace that worker are too expensive for widespread adoption (for now). But any job that primarily revolves around using a computer (whether that's programming or ringing up fricking groceries) is in danger.
