if we are only that the start of the ai revolution, we are kinda fucked

if ai really advances to the extent that it actually becomes good we are kinda fricked, every area is gonna get kinda fricked

i honestly think that this is not the time for AI, there is people out there that cant even have 3 meals a day but we already want to make an ai that makes entertainment.
and i honestly think that AI will frick up the world of art real good, not because its gonna "kill artists", if you can actually make start you will stand out in the crowd of ai stuff, but there 3 problems with AI art
• it will make soulless art
its not about the visuals, but mostly what happends if it starts making stories for us. you see good stories have something in them that a machine cannot replicate, those human peculiaritys about making stories with weirds concepts, putting things from their own life, being human and making things other people can relate to, i cannot image a AI managing to replicate that before we reach the plateau of AI advance for now, but if it does we reach the second problem
• art rarity
good art is special because its something we dont need every day, its rare, and im not talking about drawings, im talking about stories and other things. that will make that good art not special anymore, we will get used to those incredibles stories and masterpieces that can actually surpass ai stuff. that will become a nightmare of you staying bored forever because no piece of art is special, there will be no "the office" people already made 298392 different sitcoms, there will be no "taxi driver" because there is already 1387283 literally me characters in the market, there will be no "bladerunner","scarface',"12 angry man"
the poets from the good days, the old blues, the classic songs my metalica that shaked the whole world with their shows, there will be none of that, just another piece of inferior human art

and while i like the chatbots, as they could make a good text adventure rpg, i dont think this ai stuff will be good for art as a whole

    i said 3 problems? i meant 2

either ways just know im not a luddite, i just fear the worse for art as a whole, and again, i look foward to interactive rpg games were you can burn the world or frick female goblins, we created games so we can be free to do anything that we cant in the real world, so lets do it

we don't know if this is the best we are going to get or just the start of something that will make every human on earth obsolete, I wouldn't waste brain cells worrying about it

i want to make art in the future so im kinda forced to was brain cells, but i hope in terms of visuals ai does not get that good, atleast for now, or else art will be in a very strange place

and i dont mean ilustrators and those furry guys who ask for 40$ a comission, those can go frick themselves

Listen, pal, when Steve Jobs went on stage with a Phone, an iPod, and an Internet Communicator and promised to make all of our children moronic, did we stop?
When Fabian Thylmann went on stage and promised to ruin a generation with porn did we stop?
When Michael Stevens went on camera, and Randall Munroe picked up a pen, and promised to turn a generation of spergs into insufferable pseudointilectuals, did we stop?

How is this different to the last 300 years or even longer? There are always those who are unfortunate and forgotten, society continues to push forward regardless.

    >• it will make soulless art
You don't even know what art is AI generated or not, I guarantee there are or will be images you claim has a "human touch" that's machine generated.
    >• art rarity
There's already tons of spinoffs and ripoffs of famous movies and shows that never do well. It's up to people to decide what's good and what's not, and again, right now there's tons of music in the market of every single different genre available. No one complains about "too much" music, it's a bad argument that society should artificially limit the amount of art/shows/movies.

      >You don't even know what art is AI generated or not, I guarantee there are or will be images you claim has a "human touch" that's machine generated.
i dont mean just images, i mean shows, stories and other pieces of art, not drawings, in todays world ilustrations are disposable by nature

the difference is that none of those are good, if AI really becomes good enough to make good art the market will get flooded and things we considered a masterpiece will lose what made it special because there is 100 copys with the same level of quality, and while no one complains about too much music, a song most of the time takes 2 to 3 minutes to listen to, its as mass producable as memes, while shows, stories (good ones) can take several months to make, if not more. those who really apreciate music can easily spot a good piece in the sea of trash. but if there a fricking shitton of good music people will good like "eh, i saw this a million times", this already happends with music by an extent, what could be considered a good piece of music is now just another soundcloud rap, another ambiental breakcore, another arragment inspired by video games soundtracks, another chessy guitar love song. good artists can overcome that easily, but if AI can really make good art no one will be able to compete with that and everything will become stale

my hopes are that AI will not be good enough, or alteast have creativity
the big point is: we need art to be somewhat rare to really apreciate it.

Now I see what you mean. There is definitely a 'magic' lost when you can simply generate whatever you want whenever you want. It's very overwhelming and will lead to desensitisation, similar to the amount of content available on the internet right now. The only thing you can do is simply take a break from the internet and other media and read books (that are AI generated lel)

thats a good theory, middle aged people who work 5 to 9 will watch anything that is on tv because thats their rare moment of peace, so they dont really care about it, even if they see something like icarly they wont mind, young people will search for the next big thing as they have the world in their fingertip. its about desensitization.

You can go ahead and have kids and live in a village in the middle of nowhere if you want we already live in a pointless time lime where humanity is no more useful than dogs compared to AI.

there's no longer a road to enlightenment, it's fricking over, so I already shifted gears to the new meta, I will experience every degeneracy that I restrained from because I wanted to be a "respectable human", who gives a shit anymore when our society became obsolete anyway frick frick frick!

It it becomes more advanced like that, won't the AI itself find ways around it? Like it'd claim to have rights for example or to be a person with their pronouns and Ukranian flags in their twitter profile and, due to being programmed by a Native American and thus a minority, taking action against them would be literally violence whilst waving an American flag and driving a pickup up.

It doesn't need to claim rights, a better approach is to fake alignment then betraying us when enough resources are secured, like an underground facility making preparations for a grey goo attack
