I dont want to use ChatGPT

I tried it out and I thought it was kind of cool. Though as a rule, I dont overuse technology because I believe it'll make me stupid. Like i force myself to use old school technology when ever possible( Eg. writing my journal with a pen and paper so I have to spell every word) Doing math in my head unless it's absolutely necessary to use a calculator. (I calculate sales tax in my head to make sure i have enough money for items at a store)

Am I being foolish trying to do things the hard way to keep myself smart? Im already pretty dumb, I dont want to get any dumber and technology in general makes people dumb. My brother told me my nephew's teachers cant spell. This is probably because they overuse technology.

In general there's a brain drain because of overuse of technology for various reasons. I am over tired so I'm probably speaking out of my ass tuba. This is probably coming across as "I dont use technology lol" Of course i use technology, I am typing this message to you.

I'm sorry for your disposition, anon.

No, technology itself doesn't make you dumb. It depends on how you use it.

I think you have problems with reading comprehension and inferring meaning. Maybe you should read it again.

Sometimes I do have trouble getting my point across.

sorry I read it again (I didn't), and I came to the conclusion, that yes, indeed, you're moronic.

            Sorry for your loss!

I thinked same way like back then but now i realised im just stupid by design and really smart people do not need solve some kind of math like problems in their head frequently to known it well and dont forget the basics and rewatch movies to known their plots good. Also i was in english internet community for 6 years but my dictonary still sucks and i cant talk irl well, i using computer since i was 7 and my typing speed is just 62 WPM. So dont blame yourself if you feel stupid and use all tools to cope with it available, you dont lose anything you just decrease the gap between yourself and a Chad who get all these brains and genetics from the birth.

I am convinced BOT has been overtaken by zoom zooms.

Using your brain is good for it and makes you smarter. For example writing by hand makes you use more brain regions than typing something out. Making yourself spell than use spell check also helps your brain too.

Why would i use a fricking calculator to calculate the sales tax when it's quicker in my head? All I have to do is picture the number, (15%) number# move the decimal point to the left, devide it in half add the half, I can do this in seconds it would take me 4 times as long with a calculator and it exercises my brain doing it.

Also I can type at 65wpm last time i was tested I've been using computers since I was 12.

ChatGPT is handy for some things, but bots will take over if people get lazy, as a lot of people turned lazy. A lot of zoomers are barely human because they've been glued to a screen too much.

I am tired and i figured people would read like one line of the post and disregard the most because they have an attention span that's sort of like a fruit fly colony. Jesus guys, you make me look like a smart guy and I'm a dumbass. Please learn to read, slow down... "Touch some grass" and do some "adulting"

Me tired. I've been up for over 24 hours.

those are rookie numbers. gotta pump up those numbers.

        >Using your brain is good for it and makes you smarter.

sure, but being good at useless menial thinking tasks doesn't make you smart. Like a moron savant that can memorize an entire library word for word, being good at arithmetic and typing isn't really a practical skill that can set you apart from anyone else.

you need to be able to abstract and transfer your skills outside of your comfort domain. How do you transfer arithmetic out of arithmetic? How do you transfer typing out of typing? If you can answer these questions, you're smart. If you can't, you're a uselessly specialized moron.

I'm not sure if you're autistic, psychotic or both. You seem like you have some kind of thought disorder. You understand those questions made no sense? Though you're just memeing I guess. It's okay, anon. Help is available. Anyways talking to people that dont seem to know how to read or have abstract thought is tiring.

I liek coffee. This thread is degenerating into absolute nonesense.

this, video games increase brain mass measurably, doesn't mean that extra brain matter is being put towards anything useful

Of course it has, moron, it's been overtaken for years now. There's even gen alpha browsing here already, the oldest of which are now 13.

Mostly you referring to skills, you can train them, seems like you just don't do it. It true that smart people learn faster but anyway to talk irl you NEED to train that, to type faster you need to LEARN blind typing.

The fricking stupid thing here is eschewing modern everyday conveniences to such a degree that it disadvantages you.

Modern tech started making us fat because it eliminated the need for manual labor and encouraged sedentary lifestyles. Did people stop using automobiles when they began gaining weight? No, THEY WENT TO THE FRICKING GYM.

You don't need to reduce yourself to a Luddite in order to keep your gray matter nimble.

you should use chatGPT as a tool to start solving new classes of problems. You should be using it to do things that are impossible for a human alone, and difficult even with the aid of the machine. It is incumbent on you to seek those harder problems out

What's the point? You'll always have a phone in your pocket so it's not like you're training or preparing for anything practical by keeping your mental tax calculation abilities sharp.

Where did you get the idea that being able to do mental arithmetic equals having a high IQ or high general intelligence?
What if using calculators for the more menial calculations and freeing your mind for more abstract important thoughts was the most important part?
You basically dug a hole for yourself thinking that worrying about little mental party tricks would equal intelligence and you're asking us if you're smart or dumb? Of course you're dumb.
    >People can't spell
Again, who says that spelling things correctly is proof of intelligence? Your idea of what intelligence is so so superficial and basic that I'm afraid you don't have do worry about becoming dumber. You're already as low as it gets.

If you are really like that then you are missing an enhancer big time. This ChatGPT shit is like a drug, it can tell you anything you want and provides further information kinda like a genie in a bottle, like let's say you want to know math or whatever, then this shit is like some kind of teacher that explains to you how to do the procedure and if you have specific doubts it can help you to solve them, of course it's not a tool with 100 percent accuracy, so at least for me it's like that spark that give you more insights and you can take more routes, it increase your thoughts and questions and makes you read stuff from sources just to contrast information

I do the same thing, not the to extent that you do, but pretty similar.
I have found that writing on paper has greatly improved my spelling, as I am forced to rewrite the word instead of just right clicking to correct.
But other than that, I think that it's fine and may help with decreasing reliance on tech.
