Just get a pixel and stick to a 3 year upgrade cycle. Why do you need to get the most up to date hardware? You want to flex like an iToddler but don't a want to be called an iToddler.
Newer androids dropped support for it. Android isn't Linux or Windows. This is why all phones suck. I have to emulate many of the older games i used to play on phones nowadays and android emulation on desktops is fucking trash, controlling even more so.
I took a guess that's the case because that happened to me with a lot of things, if it works then that's good, and OP has the best thing already. I honestly don't use a smartphone anymore and i probably never will again.
you might be fine with the stock launcher. but i was missing customizability
- custom grid size
- sub-grid positioning on home screens
- having 5 app shortcuts in the bottom bar
- folders and tabs in the app drawer
>- having 5 app shortcuts in the bottom bar
i should specify: 5 in the bottom, but otherwise only 4 shortcuts horizontally. as it was in some previous android version.
They sold out to a search engine (ads) company but so far claim its inclusion in nova as "local device only" "no telemetry" search.
Also as with every major UI update everything feels slightly off, but this time it's really dumbed down while at the same time made more obscure, convoluted and inconsistent.
For example here on this page there are four different nesting elements >label line expands into two more lines inline if you click the down arrow or text >drawer app grid shows overlay popup >colors line navigates to color settings page if you click anywhere on it, not just arrow >open app drawer clicking on cog shows overlay pop up
it's 7.0.57
the latest available (stable) on google play store. works fine on GrapheneOS with Android 13. hope android 14 won't break it.

I mean, I'll set it up once and then barely touch the settings any more, so that would be just a minor annoyance. so long is the launcher itself works just the same, or can be made so. like, if they don't force a search bar onto one of the homescreens as google does in its version of launcher3.
Nothing is forced and I did not notice any feature downgrades or missing old customization options so far. If you upgrade from 7 you don't even have to open settings at all.
I use neo launcher now. It's about the same since I didn't use any advanced features of nova besides the custom grid and sub grid sizes.
Changing anything on your homepage is a pita with neo though. You adjust one icon and everything gets shifted up/down and left/right ruining the entire page and you then spend 10min rebuilding it from scratch.
I used to like it but nowadays stock is enough. You don't need more anon.
My stock is oneUI

name one phone that isn't shit and isn't outdated by now

>Why do you need to get the most up to date hardware?
because my current phone is from 2017
>3 year upgrade cycle
Why? There's no significant progress in phones in 3 years.
I've been keeping mine for 5 years, at the very least.
All new phones are outdated, downgraded to Android 4.3 level of speed by scoped storage. Only old phones with android 5-9 are useable.
>you don't need moar
Favorite motto of consoomers who use their $2000 phone like a $300 phone.

I still use the nova, why replace it?

False, Nova 7 works just fine on any current year devices including dual screen Fold phones.
I took a guess that's the case because that happened to me with a lot of things, if it works then that's good, and OP has the best thing already. I honestly don't use a smartphone anymore and i probably never will again.
I'm literally on a Sony Xperia 1 V, running android 13 idk what you're talking about.
Nigga it works on every single new phone including fancy dual screens.
I just use stock launcher on graphene os and its working fine, nothing more I could need.

All I really need is to have all my apps fit on one screen without scrolling.
Is there any reason to change launchers while nova still works?
Oh wait, there are beta builds, just not on play store.
Not dead yet.
>major version bump
oh no. it's going to shit, isn't it? i better keep a backup of the version 7 apk.

Guess it was very important to hide these two checkboxes behind in a popup instead of inline.
Also note inconsistent checkbox visuals.
And they still use the old UI in some subpages
What's your exact version? Looking to try again as the alternatives either suck or ask for monthly sub. Not buying a Samsung phone.

Personally for me its Lynx Launcher
I switched to klwp and neo launcher but it ain't the same
using rn
its comfy to just load the same config from 10 years ago and do minor tweaks
dont see a need or reason to switch
Nova went to shit when cunt sold to ads company, new builds are on discord kek
action launcher is the best. if you don't agree, you're a homosexual
