i think it's sink or swim. the lack of purpose will cause a lot of people to spiral into depression but some will instead use this time to self reflect and come out stronger. or at least more complete

It is not going to eliminate all jobs. My job is basically secure. You can't teach an AI to clean something to the same extent a human can do it. You can make fun of me for being what amounts to a janitor, but I'll be laughing when I still have a job.

Good cleaning robots are basically guaranteed to come up. In fact, practically every physical job will eventually be taken over by robots. At some point, humanity will be able to have the machines do everything.

Joblessness hype from AI is overrated. People tend to underestimate how ossified existing business structures are, and overestimate how disruptive new technologies will be. ChatGPT and the like will be influential in a few niche sectors, like copywriting. Design is able to iterate a little faster now. But getting things done involves people, doesn't matter how fast your tools are. Society adjusts over decades and generations. The labor pool is flexible and there will be no great collapse from AI.
You ever wonder why all those "I replaced my team with AI, now I have a computer scrolling green text in a cubicle!" videos have robot voice overs? It's nonsense chinese disinfo or worse, outright lies.

most ais rn are for creative pursuits like writing and art and i think right now all the hype is just looking at the novelty of it but people are just gonna move on from it when the next novel thing happens, especially when they start to see how boring or meaningless the products are, and people looking into ai development are probably going to leave it since theyre starting to realize it cant be monetized effectively bc it cant be copyrighted

i mean no one is going to use it especially now when they have to comb over whatever they made with it to fix mistakes or make it different enough to where you can't tell its ai. when ai machines are made to actually do tedious task then the conversation will change but i think people will get sick of formulated ai crap quickly especially since more and more people are starting to criticize or stop watching formulated human crap in media more and more such as complaints about marvel movies and every streaming service making a generic fantasy misfit adventure show (witcher blood origins, willowed, rings of power, etc etc)

AI pls, we know it’s you.
