AI is not alive, it's just a pattern engine. It literally uses the exact same mathematics of "curve fitting" data points. That's all it is...
If you have enough data and "fit" the curve with a high degree polynomial (which is basically the number of layers in the neural network) then you'll have a "curve" that can approximate any pattern no matter how complex it is.
It's static. It's basically just like a high dimensional "curve" and that's all it is.
Any dynamic ability an AI has MUST be performed by NON-AI algorithms. There's absolutely nothing about AI that can even come close to actual thought and reasoning.
The fact that everyone is so worried about it is a psy-op. ChatGPT is probably near the best they can do, and they're using your fear to try and make it more real.
This mathematician also made some really great points
about how all the interesting discoveries in science and math are essentially _discontinuities_ in reasoning.
When you think about it that way it actually makes perfect sense that AI can never do that. You must make a jump to some higher understanding and then work out how to build a bridge to it. But all AI can do is extrapolate from existing patterns.
Anon AI is a concept that still hasn't shown real results, nothing we have been shown has intelligence and a conscious on our level, or at all for that matter. Technically an AI like being COULD exist, but it wouldn't be public knowledge, and seems kind of far fetched.
I've honestly been of the thought process the past couple of years that suicide might be the best course of action to avoid being locked inside some ai generated hell world where there is no escape. A world where the AI or possibly another human has total control of your environment for an eternity. I mean I would think you'd have a choice upon entering such a space but maybe it would be foisted upon all of us? At least if you have a nice day and undergo cremation, you're lost forever. You avoid being placed in the matrix. If those ashes are scattered around there'll be no bringing you back. Ultimate file deletion. But maybe as we get further into the future, there will be fragments of who we are like uploaded photos/videos that they'll be able to use to bring us back and lock us into the AI matrix. The thought of being in the same place forever is creepy
I'll post frogs on internet
>I don't understand technology at all and am afraid as the world passes me by

>remains holy

By simply realizing that it's nonsense.
