    Not true.
Physical jobs are being automated, albeit much slower, but much more methodically.

well no shit, it's menial labor because you present a limited investment and limited risk to your boss. why would I spend money on literally any technology when I can pay someone pennies to do a host of tasks for me.

AI won't replace skilled labor though

That is the most horrifying thing I've ever seen

Would you rather smash their heads in with a rock like what was done for thousands of years and in most parts of the world today?

It's more about them having to watch as the conveyor belt carries them to their certain doom. It's like being tied to a chair in a car, and you can do nothing but watch as you're driven into a giant blender

At least there is a dignity in personal, inefficient, has-to-be-this-way types of ways, rather than the my-death-as-a-calculated-cog-in-a-literal-machine

that "dignity" only exists within your own head

We will be locked up in a huge grid array of cells where peoples death's coordinate a bit flip in the massive hyperreal computer, and people like you will still be saying this.

      >AI won't replace skilled labor though
      Not in the near term.
      Proably going to be
Menial desk jobs ( data entry, call centre, secretary, etc. ) -> menial labor jobs ( factory, fast food, delivery, etc ) -> Non-elite desk jobs ( 95% of all desk job fields below the elite level ) -> Trade automation.

I agree with this automation replacement path/schedule, but I am hesitant to think that trades can be massively automated because your average tradie has to interact with a lot of tools, move around a fair bit and respond to BS on the fly, as well as African-Americanrig a lot of stuff to actually make stuff happen. also, the scale. it's one thing for a huge tech company to replace people with AI, it's another for Bob's HVAC to bring in AI/robots/IoT devices.

this is true, but I also think about what would it take to make a robot that cleans the toilets. seems like that would be a massively more money- and time-consuming investment than replacing coding monkeys with chatGPT

I have not seen any actual example of workers being replaced by AI yet. Do you have any?

I find it funny /leftypol/ types thought it was going to kill off the working class and not their elite jobs. Menial labour is cheap. Skilled labour is not. It was logical it was going to primarily kill off the higher skilled labour. Another thing too is that a lot of menial labour is physical. It's harder to automate physical than it is some moron sitting at a desk writing or calculating shit. Plumbers are not going to be automated off anytime soon. But the /leftypol/ journalist being a propaganda mouth piece is.

      > reasoning requires very little computation, but sensorimotor and perception skills require enormous computational resources

ah yes, so succintly put. that's what I was trying to get at. tfw you thought you came upon a interesting thought but it's been around for 40 years

working as intended. the goal is to create two classes:
    >low IQ, subservient, muddled bloodline class to perform manual labor
    >elites

the middle class does not serve those in power. the kalergi plan is not a conspiracy. look at what has happened to paris, sweden, iceland in the past ~5 years after the UN forced them to accept refugees
