The only people hyping this shit are literal hello world "coders". I've tried it out and it's seriously underwhelming. It's still generating shit tier code.

This, it's made lots of mistakes in the code I've asked for it, it also shits out if it has a long snippet, even if you tell it to split it and tell it to 'continue code' it will eventually just bug out.

It's very useful for doing menail shit do, basically eliminates grunt work but everything it does has to be double checked.

I hope coding (as opposed to proompting) will once again become the domain of nerds. All pajeets and tech wagies will get filtered immediately as soon as there will be no money to be made doing real coding. One can dream.

normies may be able to proompt without any effort. nerds will still code like it's 1985.

coding is not about being fast, is about being correct

I don't mind being beat by a machine. I just like to code. I don't expect tech wagies and their corporate masters to understand.

            >Why would they?
because coding stuff yourself is cooler and more fun than reading, understanding, fixing, and integrating some abomination spewed by AI.
            >And who would care?
other than actual coders? no one.

oh you're still under the misapprehension that the AI won't be able to do a better job than you
              gotcha

even if it could do better job than me, I don't want it to do that job for me. creating your own code is the best part of programming. maintaining someone else's code is the shittiest part of programming. so AI is basically taking the best part from me, and gives me more of shit. I just don't like that deal.

AI has nothing to do with it, it's been always like that.

Maybe you'd be better off getting into engineering.
At least AI won't affect the physical domain for a while.
