Why do zoomers talk to search engines like a therapist? Search engines exist to list search results based on search terms. I'm assuming most of you zoomer idiot don't even know about boolean operators. A chat bot is not a substitute for a search engine that delivers a page which I know exists but can't find

was not* the problem is that scroogle decided to suicide their search engine, and since something like 2013 it really was designed only to search for full natural language prose (or else it gave you bullshit, then over the years they increasingly disabled the remaining boolean ops they accepted. Nowadays it refuses -, "", site: inurl: etc. Oh sorry, it doesn't refuse it it "selectively chooses to accept it or not").

ChatGPT is not a search engine. It's just a chat bot, it literally has "Chat" in its name.

So why are zoomers using it as a replacement for a search engine? What's the point of using a chatbot to give me made up answers? Google has neutered its own platform that's obvious. Search engines have always had problems with "authoritative sources". But at least a search engine points you in the direction of real information by delivering a list of pages sorted by (statically computer) relevancy to your query and you can do further research from there. Are zoomers this moronic that they think chatbots are some kind of oracle? Do zoomers really believe they found a teletype which lets them talk to God.exe?

Soon it will be common to use a search-enabled LLM to do the Google searching for you so you don't have to look at all the SEO nonsense and advertising.
