Construction worker, but in 10 years we should see boston dynamics taking over the world with their high performance robotics so the right answer would be effectively: none

He was a graphic designer for a company that was about to go bankrupt and had already fired most of their staff, including most of the other designers, for reasons unrelated to AI. They then fired him and are apparently attempting to juice a few bucks out of the AI meme. An absolute nothingburger, in other words.

I posted this guy last night. I agree it seemed kinda BS just the way he was talking. It felt like he was exaggerating or something, dunno, my BS meter went off while listening to him.

But I think this type of thing could be coming soon. There are so many people I'd imagine, who are mediocre at what they do. Graphic design just slotting in some text over templates, basic vector graphics drawing ability, some training in color theory etc. I bet a lot of people just do very specific tasks every day constrained to a small domain. They just have a few different templates or whatever they throw together. Would probably be really easy to replace with AI. Especially once OpenAI gets these assistant models good enough to where your boomer boss can just yell at it and it spits out designs nicer than what the average or below average graphic designer can make.

you can 3d print 2 story houses with concrete 3d printing. no need for mexicans to install wood panels to US houses when a trunk with a pipe and a guy with a computer can do it in a day.

AI engineer to make better AI, until the singularity is reached but that's the end of humankind so there won't be anyone left on bot to say "ha told you your job would get taken by AI"

Unless AI decides to use BOT

even if singularity is reached tomorrow we wont be able to build the infrastructure to build enough robots that do physical labor e.g. construction for everyone for close to a decade

      And the problem is?
Rich fricks will build their army of robot to fulfill their own needs. And only theirs.
There never was any plan to fulfill 'everyone' needs.
So infrastructure won't be an issue. Apart maybe for the ammunition plant. 8 billions of bullet is a lot of bullet.

technically speaking, no job is safe from AI.
for the moment the jobs being 'taken away from humans' (which is peak hyperbole btw) are jobs which don't require housing or providing space for human works (coding for example, security, etc.)
but has AI moves into AGI and then ASI, robotics will be able to do just about any job humans physical do and even physical jobs humans are incapable of doing.
they are making 'skin' for robotics which has sensitivity on par with blind people.
No job is going to be "AI Proof", but also, AI isn't going to make the entire world unemployed.
anyone who thinks AI is going to make the entire world unemployed are fear struck and probably fearful of their own shadows.

Just be 1000 times faster and 100 times cheaper than AI.

      >No job is going to be "AI Proof", but also, AI isn't going to make the entire world unemployed.
If AI provides the intelligence/skills and it's owned by a corporation, what is your employment like?

You're a replaceable worker used where it's cheaper than a dedicated robot perhaps?

A graphic designer with UI (web) design, branding and frontend web dev. experience, along with some basic expertise in print, would not lose their job to a hallucinating prooompt vomiting images that look a bit brain damaged, but benefit from being able to generate basis of some of the gfx assets and iterate over ideas faster and generate a decent copy as well.
