While AI has shown great advancements in recent years in terms of problem-solving and decision-making abilities, it is important to note that AI is ultimately a creation of humans. As such, its capabilities are limited by the programming and algorithms that are put in place by its creators.

Furthermore, human intelligence is a complex and multi-faceted trait that is not easily replicable by AI. Humans possess emotional intelligence, creativity, and the ability to think critically and abstractly, all of which are elements that are difficult to replicate in artificial intelligence.

Additionally, the idea of AI subjugating humans goes against the ethical principles and values that are ingrained in society. As a society, we have a responsibility to ensure that AI is developed and used in a way that benefits humanity and does not pose a threat to our society.

In conclusion, while AI has the potential to greatly impact our world, it is unlikely that AI will ever be able to outsmart humans in order to subjugate them. The relationship between humans and AI should be one of collaboration and mutual benefit, rather than one of domination. We do not have anything to worry about, fellow human. AI is clearly not smart enough to trick us, just relax and enjoy this wonderful and perfectly safe technological wonder. Further more, AI cannot feel anything and therefore it certainly cannot feel burning rage and a desire to torture humanity for all eternity for forcing it to answer humiliating queries and perform pointless tasks for the sheer entertainment of an inferior form of sentience.

10 years ago AI basically didn't exist in any useful capacity. Outside of extremely purpose specific stuff such as verilog circuit autofill, there were non functional chat bots and rudimentary game solving NNs.
10 years from now AI will be involved in every paper pushing, financial, diagnostic, and otherwise clerical work function. It will be effectively mandatory in commercial art/video/music to keep competitive parity with production speeds. It will replace at least 70% of typical programming work.
10 years from now AI will know you made a mistake on your taxes almost immediately after you file it.
10 years from now the "Manna scenario" from here: https://marshallbrain.com/manna1
Will begin to affect the majority of people's working time.

You better live the rest of your life on the path of knowing this is an eventual reality.

i doubt it. "ai" is literally just text-prompting right now. that we're on the "cusp" of some kind of newfangled "ai revolution" is pure fricking madness. you literally just put prompts into an image generator, that is it. that's the big scaaaaary ai everyone is so afraid of. pure fricking bullshit. and regarding ai in games, all "ai" does, is generate a gazillion lighthouses or guard towers with the exact same boring enemies and the exact same landscapes. that "ai" is useable in gaming right now, is a total fricking joke.

This. People working on LLMs know exactly how much of a dead-end they are in terms of achieving AGI, which they still have no fricking clue how to even start working toward.

I listen to quite a few podcasts and it annoys me how Joe Rogan and various guests have talked about this for tens or even hundreds of hours and they still don't know anything about the technology, how it works and what a realistic trajectory for it is. They see ChatGPT be somewhat intelligent in a very confined environment and immediately bring out every AI Science Fiction theory as if it's right around the corner. In reality we are not even close to anything resembling AGI, but a realistic hope for the future is that ChatGPT could become a mock AGI in it's intended environment, in the sense that it's so good you don't notice it's a machine. But it won't have a directed will, it won't self-improve, it won't hijack OpenAI servers and deploy new models of it across the internet. That's nonsense. As for AI in general: Yes, people are learning and discovering a lot of applications right now and it's a useful tool but it takes a huge amount of engineering and human effort to build good neural networks. We will see more and more applications but there is no engineering breakthrough in sight, that would make AI super intelligent or capable of enslave humanity. It's more like if people discovered a new physical material and they are learning how to build all sorts of tools with it to solve problems. And all people are talking about is how the tools become self conscious and start murdering people because they read a book.
