I tried generationg my characters with it and honestly just bland old picrews did a better job at it.
I really see no point. Well bf ais are interesting maybe since its just like better version of otomes, but literally whats the point of just looking at some generated pictures. They dont move, dont talk, have no stories, no personalities and no potential for anything. I really can't comprehend. In my head hasbandos are better looking and actually move and do something. Imaginary husband > ai generated one.

Generate husbandos, crop them into transparent pngs, generate backgrounds, dl ren'py, write a self-indulgent visual novel.

Why do I need to do all this work if I can play it out in my head already.
Especially relevant question now that artistical expression is dead as a market. Absolutely zero motivation to put anything into it. I'd rather draw chars myself and use ai only for backgrounds, but doing any form of art is now utterly pointless endevour. No matter the quality its gonna be immediately flooded with generated stuff. So I can save up my energy and just use my imagination.

I got banned from bot for posting this yesterday some scrote freaked out at me and accused me of being an "ai spammer". No idea what he was talking about I just thought it was fricking cool that a baker took an ai concept art for a cake and replicated it. And I wanted to talk about how ai might influence food and if people would eat an ai crafted meal and if they'd use it themselves especially if 3d printing food becomes a thing (they are already developing this)
    Banned for one day.

Sorry and by ai crafted meal I mean like in the jetsons how they have the food generator that just shows up in front of them. Imagine a machine with protein, fat, starch, etc shit you have to keep filled like a printer's ink and food comes out. I know I sound moronic don't bully me REEEE I JUST THINK IT'D BE COOL

It'd been fine if it wasn't a funcking woman that made the thread. Men come here to shoot the shit, we don't want some fricking b***h acting like the mommy of the thread when we start coming up with decprepited ideas for ai to come up with.

    >Does it not appeal to you? What things are you into at the moment?
I tried a bunch of different ones. They virtually all either:
    >keeps giving me girls even when specifically including boy/male/etc into text prompts/uploaded portfolios and female in the negative
    >Is in that godawful art style all anime AI art seems to take on
Also if generating catboys you often get too many ears, picrel. Very sad. Although I like that this one came out in a art style that isn't awful. At this point I might just suck it up and pay for NovelAI even though it notoriously produces said godawful lineless soft light airbrushed looking pixiv-y art style

          magnet link for the model
there's a ton more on that site, see the BOT stable-diffusion general

part of me wishes I wouldn't have bothered, if it hadn't have been for this thing my Radeon Vega would have had another year or three in it

okay so the way you do SD locally is to download this little framework thing that sets up a web interface for it. (You need Python and git. If you're on Linux you have those, on Windows you'll have extra stuff to set up) The startup script downloads some stuff that you need for it to work, to, notably it can go get a Python package called PyTorch, there's a file you edit to say where it should download that from, go to the PyTorch website and pick the one for your OS and which flavor you want (rocm for AMD, cuda for Nvidia, or you can run it on the CPU, albeit very slowly and ram-intensively) That's also where you put command-line arguments and the like.

okay so once you did all that, how do you generate images? the "model" is what describes that, you download these big (multi-gigabyte) files and put them in a specific SD folder, and they alter what kinds of images you'll get. One of those is what you're torrenting from that NovelAI link. You can get different ones that'll generate different kinds of images. The ones everyone talks about here are all about anime characters, but there are general ones and ones optimized for landscapes, etc. They also understand different kinds of prompts.

        >pirate NovelAI
I guess that just sounds like a pain to set up
        >Grapefruit is better though.
Nothing shows up when I search that
Also a bunch of AI generators (at least the text prompt ones) block any variant of the word "shota"

go read the rentry links on the BOT /sdg/. it's a lot to figure out but if you take a day to mess with it you can figure it out.

you do need a fairly beefy PC though, if you're one of those people who thinks your i5-2500k with 8GB of RAM is still just fine, you're gonna have problems

I think I should be okay, mine can run pretty much most games which is probably a good judgement metric right?

                Anonymous

Well, kinda depends. I have a Ryzen 2600 with 16GB of RAM and that Vega 56, and that's a low-end machine by SD standards. I have to restart the webui pretty frequently because it runs me out of RAM, and the video card is one of the oldest ones you can make work, at least on the AMD side, I have to give it the --lowvram parameter to take some load off of it, if I don't I can crash either the webUI or sometimes hard-lock the machine. SD in general loves VRAM. I haven't been able to get it to do above 512x512 images.

If I had a Polaris card (RX 580) I would have had to do some special hackery to make pytorch work, there's also PCI-E gen restrictions (don't put your card in a 2.0 slot). So by all means, try it out, but the more you're a poorgay limping along on an older machine, the more difficulties you might have.

Most games are tailored to shitbox consoles, so it's not a very good metric. You should really know what hardware you have. If it's a laptop, give up and start saving for a desktop.
