>dude ai art is so bad and soulless lol real art is bet-
>NOOOOOOOO STOP THE AI ART I'M GONNA LOSE MY JOB NOOOOO
>dude ai art is so bad and soulless lol real art is bet-
>dude ai art is so bad and soulless lol real art is bet-
sucks to be a real artist. they were smug about machines making other professions worthless. now they are worthless
>they were smug about machines making other professions worthless
I'm still in awe about how AI turned out in light of that.
Like the "Can you?" scene in I, Robot.
>mfw we got machines that could create art decades before we get robots humanoid enough to replace manual labor
If you were involved in the futurist discussions back then you would know
>If you were involved in the futurist discussions back then you would know
So some smug cunt was smug to you on some forum in 2008 and you've held that grudge all these years? It never ceases to amaze me how robots are so vengeful while at the same time begging others to stop taking revenge on them.
>So some smug cunt was smug to you on some forum in 2008 and you've held that grudge all these years?
I didn't hold a grudge, it's just ironic now that it's readily apparent they were incorrect in the most extreme way.
And it's not just some obscure thing either, the idea was commonly held. I literally referenced a movie with a scene that encapsulated that sentiment.
>I didn't hold a grudge, it's just ironic now that it's readily apparent they were incorrect in the most extreme way.
That's true of pretty much all futurists, given that actually predicting the future is impossible.
>And it's not just some obscure thing either, the idea was commonly held. I literally referenced a movie with a scene that encapsulated that sentiment.
I've never seen it before in my life. I think it's a lot more likely that this is making your e-enemies sad and for some reason you care enough to gloat.
>I haven't seen a film
>He hasn't even seen this meme
ok? That doesn't mean it wasn't relevant culturally, moron.
Everyone on /r9k/ is complaining about other people complaining all the time. I'm sorry I didn't care enough to notice one specific meme that embodied this weird artistic zeitgeist for you. As usual, you're all blowing this way out proportion. AI art is a new and developing medium, and I'm sure it will make hentai art much cheaper to make, but unless your highest artistic ambition is cranking out porn commissions for weed money, it's not a "threat" to any vital artistic function. Art is not about the product produced, it's about the process of production, the care and intent put into self-expression. AI is not engaging in any form of self-expression, at least not with our tech, so it's a moot point. I know that probably wasn't relevant to what you were saying but I grow weary of online pissing contest #3,343.
He is right tho. People never thought AI would replace art before replacing manual labor
People have been wrong about AI before and they're going to be wrong again. That's the exciting part of unfolding new technologies like this. It's still not a good reason to piss on people who often produce content that you yourself enjoy usually for free. Seems a little ungrateful.
Can't wait for deepfakes to make actors irrelevant and all new movies only star AI of actors we already know. Imagine Ryan Gosling co-starring with a young Katherine Hepburn.
Doesn't sound farfetched to be able to churn out entire anime voice acting and all with quality on par with typical seasonal shlock.
>feed AI a script
>it generates an entire anime complete with voices
Get on it, AI programmers!
It will exist in a decade at most, maybe 5 years. The actual animation is harder, but synthetic voices hooked up with an AI script-writer should be already feasible with existing tech (just not very well).
Never gonna happen. The star system is more than just pretty faces in movies. It's a whole cult of worship that is built around the most beautiful celebrities. They will always exist as long as there's cinema
I don't know about that, there are plenty of manufactured cults out there, just look at vtubers, pop idols and youtubers that never do a face revel.
i doubt actors and other celebrities will be replaced by AI anytime soon, because even if we replace them in the movies with it they have a whole cult of personality around them
>ai art is soulless
>corporate art is soulless
>corporate art becomes ai art
>humans continue to make non-soulless art
I fail to see the issue.
>AI starts to emulate soul
You can give a computer instructions to copy something, but you can't make a computer think on its own. That being said, everything is an imitation nowadays anyway, because an ironic world cannot produce originality, so all these "artists" who thought they were so quirky and original are getting a wakeup call.
You can give a human instructions to copy something, but you can't make a human think on its own.
That's how it starts. It's coming. AI will take over.
Humans literally work the same way
Infact 90% of the population thinks worse than this, worse than AI
>AI is soulless
If such a thing as soulfulness existed, the AI would simply emulate that as well.
I have spent enough time on here to know that souls are wretched, ugly things.
soul = thing I like
soulless = thing I don't like
I love art but every time I go on some artist's twitter they're being such a cunt. I hate AI but am sort of glad it's messing with them.
Given a hundred images (50 AI generated and 50 human created), how confident are you that you could sort them better than chance?
And we're only still just mere months apart from when AI art burst on the scene. Before long it will be so detailed, fast, mindblowing and easy to make that it will be like it's reading your mind. All the copes about "it's not creative! It's original" will be forgotten just like "b-but it can't do hands! it looks like pareidolia" etc.
what is OP image even supposed
When can AI create deepfakes of me and Iris making sweet love?
>ai artists when the internet shuts down and they lose all their skill overnight
Also yeah I've noticed some artists are morones, but as it's the case for many communities, just a little percentage is able to screw the image of the entire picture. Just cause a couple Twitter artists are asshole doesn't mean the majority of them are pieces of shit
i've noticed a lot of people unironically making this comment like its smart "if you can't do it with the electricity off, you can't do it!"
it's like they completely ignore 3d animation, digital photography, so many things. they never made that observation about those things because it didn't make them uncomfortable. they are so fucking triggered its insane
I guess we're moving toward a Utopian society, right? When every single job a human can do is replaced by a machine, there will be no need for anyone to work, and everyone can just live a comfortable life of leisure.
thats gonna suck balls, imagine how fucking boring life will be with no difficulty
Life will always be difficult, you don't have to worry about that. Even without work we'd still all be involved in the human drama.
What am I looking at?
basically ai is outperforming "real" artists and now a bunch of twitter artists are basically patting each other on the back with pathetic copes, the op is a pic of them celebrating spamming some art website with "no ai"
Most of the anti-AI artists I see are responding with that particular brand of self-aggrandizing derangement you only get from terminally online people who feel threatened. It's the same tone you hear from trannies when they talk about JK Rowling and shit. It's annoying as fuck and I'm a bit glad they're getting assblasted, plus I'm having good fun working on a visual novel where I don't have to pay thousands of dollars for backgrounds.
for half a century we were told robots and AI will replace blue collar jobs were the cultural elites will remain irreplaceable
instead this is how things are moving lul
A large reason for that is that art can be created digitally only while replacing something like a construction worker would also require an actual robot with a body and robotics are a completely different branch of technology.
Another reason is that an art AI only needs to be able to do one thing while something like a construction robot would need to be able to do many things.
Because of that I imagine that the first robots for construction work will likely just be dumb "servants" that people order around without much intelligence.
Before AI I was a NEET who drew pictures
After AI I am a NEET who draws pictures
Does anyone actually fap to AI porn? It's all the same boring style and all max vanilla. The future is bright, thoever
The image is too small to make out, what is the cope? I'm guessing it's some kind of browser extension that censors art from artists the coder does not like. It will either never be used or is ripe for abuse. I thought artists were supposed to be against the censors.
lol and how many of these "artists" use their art programs filters and tools to change their pictures? They all do it, not a single piece of digital art has not used filters or tools which are basically mini AI tools.
I guess if you draw highly polished anime art art you could say art is dead, however that is almost nobody besides some autistic japs
the real issue is that artists literally get their artwork stolen and used to train a model
Literally reading the book you wrote and rewriting it with other characters names and sayin its yours plus you get to sell it now too
>if you can't beat them, ban them
Luddites will be crucified by modernity, just as they always have been. These degenerates are so dumb that they chose to make art over a real job. Worse, they legit think people will look at their art just because it has a human maker. Consumers do not give a shit.
god westerners are fucking annoying
protesting doesn't fucking work
stop fighting nature
if AI is good its good and you can never do anything about it
if its bad youre in luck you wont lose your job
These artist should work in a hybrid style, they'd get things done quicker. They'll learn though.
I have been riping through AI for weeks now. One image looked a little like Joaquin Phonix joker, that's it. They may as well be original in my book. Ai give ordinary people a great power, and artists a superpower
Look at this image, I would never have thought to put an aeroplane as a nose but AI did
>nooo the robot has to sample artwork it isn't making it originally!
So you're saying, as a human artist, you have NEVER see any other human artwork for references to learn how to draw? You've NEVER taken inspiration from someone else's artstyle?
>b-but the AI is STEALING it
So are you when you look at it, learn from it, and draw inspiration from it. You don't even have to trace it, AI doesn't necessarily trace artwork either. By training your human brain with other people's artwork, you are literally doing the same thing AI is doing.
>immigrants taking all the simple jobs
>smart jobs being taken by technology
>humanist/artistic jobs taken by AI
so what the fuck are we supposed to do now to have a comfy life? There will be a huge influx of people without a purpose soon,
wages are going to plummet again thanks to that. I predict massive revolutions coming in the next 20 years, unless they decide to postpone it by some form of UBI.
It used to be that a degree could provide a good income. Now, not even having a doctorate can save you anymore
everyone who is defending this shit will be working in an Amazon warehouse 15 hours a day gloating about how they're glad AI replaced all creative outlets, while they go back to their pods to eat bugmeal sponsored by mcdonalds
im getting paid by the state to not work. you sound like a gay so i hope that happens
im a neet too gay but i like to do art too doesnt mean I dont hate ai gays. whats funny is ai programmers will eventually be replaced by their own creation too
>but programming cant be ai
artists said the same thing. programs will be written by ai eventually because all programming languages share the same common practice, functions. set defined keywords that do defined things within the language. that means ai can use it
The dog walker probably defends it but he is already a dogwalker
