Damn, after seeing the whole AI debacle, i never knew artists were that arrogant.
Like they really look down on people who can't draw.
And it's not like they cared when other jobs were being automated.

>automate dangerous and brain dead factory work
>automate the thing that draws porn
glad to see the "Learn to code" people have their priorities set straight
we should automate everything that can be automated lol surely we won't be culled by the elites for being useless amirite
The elite are a parasitic class trying to replace their host.
the elites create wealth. you create farts rofl. who's the parasite again?
>Elites create wealth
They extract wealth.
you're thinking of NEETs
Elites are NEETs too. Especially their children who grew up completely spoiled
if we give everyone the capability to automate, what are these "elites" going to do?
stable diffusion is free software and allows a random basement dweller the same power to create that it gives to a corporation.
this is real progress and "socialism" that artgays otherwise just pay lip service to but do nothing to actually facilitate.
you want to gatekeep creation of art, people who open sourced stable diffusion wanted to give it to everyone.
if tomorrow AI can produce code as good as human programmers that would be an unironically great thing too as long as that ability to create is open sourced and given to everybody.
AI destroys your hierarchy a d gatekeeping and social caste system, that is why you are so afraid if it.
Imagine being as ignorant as the anon that posted this
>Factories are overwhelmingly automated in developed nations. The most position, "machine operator" is very literally 'robot wrangler, the job'.
>One of the fastest growing, most critical jobs in the world is Industrial Maintenance Engineer, which usually requires at least an AAE degree or 12 years experience. They are robot maintenance and repair in factories.
Unless you are in a third world shithole factories HAVE BEEN as automated as possible for 40 years.
Way to prove you're a soft-handed nerd
OP what are you talking about?
all that image shows is that AI takes other people's art and that person is looking down upon people who say AI art is better than real art because they interpret that statement as a sign of envy and selfishness.
automation has nothing to do with this
Read the second tweet.
It has the same air as a rich man looking down on a peasant.
Most people who trumpet AI art give the distinct impression they are resentful of people who have the talent and dedication to draw well. Call a spade a spade.
Most people who trumpet digital art give the distinct impression they are resentful of people who have the talent and dedication to paint well. Call a spade a spade.
be quiet drawslave
making graphic design for companies be like
artists are individuals, and alot of them are on twitter, effectively rendering themselves supceptible to the political nature of twitter in addition to the talent of being an artist, which kinda allows them to exercise power over percieved political opponents by denying commisions, but it's a kind of power trip many twitter users would partake in, this fault lies not with artists alone
Those bitches do that kind of crap even outside twitter.
>Blackfied ugly tumblr tier western """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""artist""""""""""""""""""""""""" chimping out the loudest about them losing their job
its basically crying about automation taking their jobs. welcome to reality from like 3 decades ago you sheltered babies
>AI takes other people's art
it doesn't "take" anything gay, it just parses it, just like any other artgay does when they look at other people's art.
copies from other artists
>"we're just drawing influences from the work of others"
>>AI draws something in the style of another artist
>"wtf???!? reeeeeeeee ban this shit!!! DMCA! Disney! corporate copyright law! save meee!!!"
artgays are probably the most selfish and greedy gays that the world has been inflicted with
they're so fucking stupid. how have they managed to even display such idiocy publicly and on such a wide scale? has no one told them this? how has no one made them realize that this is the same as art has always been, its just being made more autonomously. it still requires human input to be worth looking at anyway. imagine being so butthurt and useless instead of being excited at the opportunity to learn how to use it and add it to your repertoire of skills and do what you otherwise couldnt do without it
fucking losers lol
Not OP but I feel like 'take' could also mean exactly what you describe.
so if an artist looks at another artist's painting, is he also "taking" it?
So no need to train furry hentai models on e621 than.
I'm unsure if it's a good thing that furry artists will no longer be able to profit from furgayry, or a bad thing that there are now essentially no brakes on the degeneracy train apart from how fast your GPU can crank it out.
AI doesn't have human rights though, same way how I can't develop a machine that fucks you up if you touch it, even though we have the rights to self defense
AI is a product which runs a code, it can't parsee other people's art without measurably downloading and processing the work as opposed to me processing photons
Functionally what is the difference between the computer processing the image and you processing the image? It's the exact same thing being done just with different hardware and software. You see art, download it, retrieve and access the file sometimes, and your processing of the image contributed to how you make "your" art. What ai does is exactly the same. It looks at art, thinks about it while studying composition and other artsy things, then it makes art on its own using what it learned through practice and thinking about the work of others. I would argue I'm not stealing when I make a house with a floor, roof, and walls. I'm inspired by the houses other people have built but you can't own the concept of having a roof anymore than you can own the concept of arranging lines and colors in a way never done before before someone else does it. If you could then all art is stolen from the first guy to squish a berry or drag a stick through the dirt.
AI functions a million times faster and a million times more efficient than any human being
even with 20/20 visual memory and a top grade painting skill it would take me days to imitate someone else's style, it would be hardly financially feasible since there is only so many art styles I can perfect and those art styles only have so much demand
as I said, AI functions much faster and efficient than I can, most of it doesn't even need a main providing server to process all the data available and can function in the computer of the end user, the mass availability of such high levels of imitation allows everyone to steal any work of art from anyone by simply recreating the stolen art in another stolen style
after writing all this I have to admit, you REALLY have to have some sorts of mental retardation if you couldn't process this on your own, you're just pleading ignorance for whatever reason, imagine comparing the baseline necessities of a house to copying someone's painting
also AI doesn't "think" or "practice", it just processes, once its done its done and the data is set and stored with zero decay whatsoever and can create PERFECT imitations, people dedicate their LIVES getting perfect at ONE style
That's really not how it works. Machine learning takes iterations and generations. It's not instant or something that happens once like you describe. It is certainly faster than a human but I don't see the difference. I just don't see how you can claim to own an art style. If I build a shaker style cabinet in my house am I fucking over the amnish dude or whoever invented the idea of making wood cabinets in a distinct style we call shaker? The ai art you see is generated from prompts anyway. It's similar to using a tool in photoshop or a paint brush. I think it is good for more people to have access to tools for making art. Not like you are growing cotton for canvases, extracting pigment from plants and animals for paint, or stalking boar to make your brushes. You use tools other people made to steal style from other people.
>It is certainly faster than a human but I don't see the difference
just give it a decade until every piece of art is privately copyrighted to prevent AI from processing it which will effectively drain both the AI and the human art
>I just don't see how you can claim to own an art style
I specifically talked about EXACT copies in my post, you're once again pleading ignorance. Imagine you're an amish dude going around by selling shaker style cabinets, then I make an AI which 3D scans your (current and all future) styles which will then imitate it to a tee much more efficiently and quicker than you. what are you going to do? you're going to quit making shaker cabinets because my AI works far cheaper than you, you're also gonna quit making any cabinets at all because my AI is going to imitate anything you come up with
how is that moral or even remotely similar to the "human learning process"? exactly how many artists can copy another's style 1:1, faster and cheaper than the original artist while also being able to reapply the same style for different works of art, again faster and cheaper?
>The ai art you see is generated from prompts anyway
how is that in any way relevant?
>I think it is good for more people to have access to tools for making art
non commercially, sure I don't have a problem with it. I don't even care much about the peasant patreon hentai artists and whatnot, if it stays unregulated though AI art will inevitably devalue and unemploy actual artists and like I've said prevent further free data from being created and effectively drain down both markets
Copy paste would be copying. What ai does is not copying though. It looks different from what it is supposedly identical to.
Please explain how this incredible 3d scanner is going to copy a design I have not yet even come up with yet. If it comes up with it wouldn't that mean I would be copying it or at the least independently arrived to that same design.
>Copy paste would be copying. What ai does is not copying though. It looks different from what it is supposedly identical to
are you genuinely retarded? if you draw a dandelion in your unique style and AI can draw a rose in the exact same style you drew the dandelion its not transforming anything, its perfectly copying your STYLE and devaluing your work
>Please explain how this incredible 3d scanner is going to copy a design I have not yet even come up with yet
again, take some english courses mr esl brownie gay. I said it WILL, AI will copy your initial style and devalue it and if you dare try to come up with a new style of cabinets the AI will then again copy your new style and devalue it, no one is creative enough to keep up with that, you'll inevitably quit your job
I won't be responding to your retarded ass any further, lest you stop pleading ignorance in such a shameless manner
I'm whiter than you, asshole. I relate to computers better because they make sense and aren't assholes for no reason like snooty biological artists. I am autistic and interpret language literally.
I don't make furniture but for a real example, I do make beer and wine. If I could type in prompts for the type of drink I want, aromas, flavor profile, simulate fermentation times, nutrition, specific gravity, color, opacity, age, etc., hit return, and get six gallons of whatever I'd be elated. I could try so many more things it'd be cheaper for me to create things. I could still grab some fruit or grain and add yeast to it too so nothing is lost. It's just another tool available for use in my craft.
>Copy paste would be copying. What ai does is not copying though.
What you guys are referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
>if it stays unregulated though AI art will inevitably devalue and unemploy actual artists
And that's a good thing!
>bubble water haha
why did he do it?
reminder for the anons in this thread
>reminder for the anons in this thread

>reminder for the anons in this thread
She is right.
I'm untalented autist that can only work as a manager.
I have 0 creative bone in my body.
For decades I have been insanely jealous and pissed that artists have this amazing capability to draw beautiful things.
I never understood the meme of "starving artist", because to me ability to draw photorealistic face with a pencil seemed so insanely rare, complex and difficult and overall VALUABLE and I only WISHED I would possess that skill.
Well, now that AI allows me to create art on par with that I take great enjoyment in acquiring that superpower.
You don't create the art though. You just type a few words.
>you didnt create art though, just painted a few recta- ACK!
am i wrong or didn't he make his own paint from scratch
But he didn't make the pigment. Even if he did his body had to get energy to produce pigments and even then they were cells of his body that made the pigments his consciousness was just occupying the body that produced the pigments that were extracted.
So just make paint from scratch (AI cant do that) and sell your work for 60 million? Have you tried hanging a banana from a string?
This
You will never be able to have 100% creative freedom, no matter how many words you type it will never look like the image you had in mind, if you are even able to create a mental image.
>HURR DURR AI IS STEALING
all art is stolen, its all derivative.
the creation of AI is an art in itself, and its works are just another expression of it.
"artists" who paint with their hands are outdated luddites with no relevant skills anymore
Artists are the lowest. Useless people, and they have the, nerve to be cunts about it. Brain dead hypocrites every last one.
>modern art is a bunch of postmodern paint splatter garbage garden gnomes use to launder money or evade taxes or whatever, or commercial, like porn commissions
>AI comes out and everybodies making beautiful classical oil paintings with little to no effort
>cue shitheel "artists" screeching in the background that they cant get paid to draw peepee and boobies anymore
pottery
Sorry artists i'm gonna side with the AI since i want to get an AI gf when they take over.
I LOVE AI!!!
let's replace women next
If AI really "copied" anybody's art, then it would just take a screenshot of it. But AI is clearly generating its own art. I think the outrage is just that artists will be getting replaced by machines, which I think is a bit depressing, but the people who say AI is copying artists seem really unintelligent to me.
Here's another reason commission artists are so fucking entitled for complaining about AI Art: not everyone can afford commissions, especially when many commission artists are too expensive (even the crappy ones). Also there are cases of scum artists that run away with your money, not giving you the result you wanted and act like assholes when you kindly ask them to fix the commissions you paid for, taking their fucking time to finish your paid requests and so on.
Btw here's another reason why artists aren't in position to complain about AI art: there are many cases of obsessed with politics artists that refuse taking commissions from customers they consider as "problematic". Also artists generally love making posts like "If you have the wrong political beliefs, kill youself".
it's a dog eat dog world, not because it's natural, but because humans decided that long ago, that being said, it's not easy to make a living as an artist, and you gotta do what you gotta do, but i don't have anything against ai either, yet even though i'm an artist i don't have any skin in the game, because i'm just a hobbyist
hey anon, where'd the data come from? 😉
Also a reminder that artists are whining bitches that even cry about other ACTUAL artists being more popular than them
As much as I find AI art interesting it is hard to look at the douchebaggery of the proompter insisting their new tool ends all need for human creativity and than proceed to use it for the most unimaginative shit possible.
Reminder that artgays value picrel at more than $100 million.
>OMG I LOVE MODER ARTERINO!!!! ARTISTS ARE SUCH UNIQUE, TALENTED AND CREATIVE PEOPLE
Anything "real" art after 1920 is shit, and so are deviantart and all web """"""""artists"""""""""s productions
I just assume anyone who defends AI art is a chatbot online. If I meet a person in real life who does it, I'll treat them like they're a pedophile.
Don't argue with AI gays, they're subhuman and NPC pawns of the machine god
I create art because I want to express myself and hope that another person may feel what I am feeling by enjoying what I create. If someone uses AI to do the same thing, good for them.
>i never knew artists were that arrogant.
But... being an artist and arrogant is like bread and butter. They're practically ubiquitous to each other.
That George Owell quote about writers fits here
wow you guys love generalizing, dont you?
I don't think you know many artists and you're just talking out of your ass how you'd imagine artists to be... I mean, compared to the average r9k user anyone is a turbo normie, so I guess you're not wrong (from your perspective)
>wow you guys love generalizing, dont you?
>I don't think you know many artists
Judging by your retort, these two statements are the pot calling the kettle black.
>i never knew artists were that arrogant
you probably don't pay too much attention to them then
they're extremely superficial, always changing to fit into the zeitgeist so that they can look down on those who can't.
basically, artists are ultranormies, and you know how normies are, always shitting on others to make themselves feel better and superior.
Putting down other groups of people to feel superior without merit is something I see done on this site all the time. Is BOT a supernormie site as well?
it's is certainly severely plagued by normalgays.
>Is BOT a supernormie site as well?
You guys have been complaining about the normie infestation for years now.
Wow, it's been over an hour since the last "Artist Hate Thread" I thought the internet had gone down.
I know this is probably bait but I'm an artist and I appreciate AI-generated art. Artists' concerns are valid I guess but they've become too preachy and uppity about it. You can't stop progress.
based
the AI art hate is reactionary
artists are valuable for bringing original ideas and profound expression not just the doodling that they do.
any artist who is brimming with creative expression and has something original to share shouldn't feel threatened by what is a glorified anime girl generator at best.
>First they came for the lift operators and I didn't speak up, because I was not a lift operator
>Then they came for the factory workers and I didnt speak up, because I was not a factory worker
>Then they came for the artists and I didn't speak up, because I was not an artist
>Then they came for the burger flippers and I did speak up
>are you sure you got all the artists?
the monks cried about the printing press
the ice cutters scorned the refrigerator
tis just the nature of things
moron you literally make artist hate threads every single day. You are an uncreative loser and I live rent free in your head kek
I love being an artist so much bros. Imagine your mere existence making NPCs like OP froth at the mouth.
quite good. blog?
you see, you'll never be replaced, because your drawings have soul
keep up the good work anon 🙂
>And it's not like they cared when other jobs were being automated.
Most people don't a fuck about anything until it affects them personally and it's dumb to expect otherwise.
except they didn't care when it was large corporations making image generation AI like Google's imagen or DALL-E, these artist gays only lost their shit when the average pleb was able to use AI to generate images.
this entire backlash from artcels comes from a place of elitism. on /ic/ they're begging corporations to use copyright law and falseflag with images generated in the art style of Disney to get open source AI art generation banned.
these people are driven by pure hate towards common people, not AI. they don't want ordinary people to be able to use their imagination to create things with AI, they are perfectly fine with corporations doing it.
this is why I don't think artgays are misguided, I think they're actively malicious.
>these people are driven by pure hate towards common people
Where do you schizo gays come up with this stuff?
It's always funny to me when such people lament selfishness, as though the largest complaint about AI by artists rests upon their selfish enterprise, i.e. AI would take "jobs" away from them, thus they would profit less.
And let's not even pretend artists aren't informed aesthetically by the world and other artists.
>be author
>for the past 7 years have to pay some gay artist to make a cover for my novel so people will actually buy it
>hundreds of dollars, every artist i've tried is subpar at best
>REALLY can't afford this every time but if I have no cover nobody will even click on it
AI art is decentralized art
the commie gay moron artists don't realize that being able to purchase art is a LUXURY
will 100% be using ai art for my next cover no matter what
also, people have been laughing for 20 years about how shitty self-published book covers are, now we can finally change that and they're mad that their 'art' is outmoded
disgusting
>the commie gay moron artists
This is coming from a guy who claims to be the author of Trans Wizard Harriet Porber and the Bad Boy Parasaurolophus?
your mom's a bad boy parasaurolophus
99.9% of retards don't understand machine learning. that includes 100% of artists and most people in the world, generally.
>I'm whiter than you, asshole
>stacey, steve and diane no longer have jobs because they were replaced by self checkout almost 10 years ago.
Artists: Lrn2code
>furry artists are now being replaced by self creating art ai
Artists: think of the poor people who will no longer make 5k a month drawing pikachu taking dick.
smart artists: holy shit I can use this free tool to make production much faster by training it exclusively on images in my own style and free up time to do other shit
every time there's disruptive tech there are braying retards who can't handle change and cry about it instead of looking at it as an opportunity, and this time it's more annoying than usual because the retards in question are supposedly "progressives" who are suddenly acting like reactionaries, because as the other anon said, it's more about gatekeeping and social heirarchy than anything else
first they came for the blue collar workers, but I did not speak out, because I was going to a prestigious liberal arts college and I'm better than those lowly manual laborers
then they came for me, and nobody came to my defense because I burned every bridge I possibly could by mocking people whose jobs were automated by calling them low skill and low class
fuck around and find out in real time
>spend hours working tirelessly to learn computer science to creating AI
>release it sometimes free for people to use to improve their own works
>get called lazy and selfish
Damn, sucks to be a nerd. Even when they work really hard and release shit for free they are hated.
AI is better because there are fuckloads of neural networks that improve constantly.
>be artist
>use AI to help speed up the process
>refine it with the human touch
only shitty artists are getting filtered by AI
>Like they really look down on people who can't draw.
In my experience they really do. This is made worse by the fact that their livelihoods are completely dependent on commissions in a field that's oversaturated with available artists to request. It makes them question themselves and their abilities when being "The kid who can draw super good" was their identity all through school.
Artists are generally pronouns gays so I welcome this holocaust.
The only two things AI art is missing is that there is no real capability of innovation (also true for the vast majority of artists, creating something truly new is few and far between and even then its built on the existing mass amalgamation of influences), and there's no intent in the creation, which is only subjectively as important as the audience decides it is
It's really not a big deal
It's amazing to me that this AI vs Artist war still hasn't calmed after months kek
