Just learn how to make your own. You'll be able to make anything you can imagine long before AI becomes competent enough to make game assets.
how long until AI is sued for plagiarism or related?
It's pretty clear AI is just a computer programmed to rip off existing creative works.
You can already use Dall-e for 2D game assets
Not any more than human artists do. We all learn art by looking at other people's art.
All artists learn by looking a the work of others. But what sets great artists apart from others is developing their own style that isn't just a somewhat flawed copy of another artist's style.
And AI invented it's own art style never seen before. Your point ?
It just has a number of styles you ask it to make things in, and it will imitate that style, but with some errors.
So just like every other artist ? Interesting
Every artist doesn't just make copies of others' works with a few changes, at the request of someone telling them what to make. That's just bad artists.
It's all input/output, monkey see - monkey do. Prove me wrong, go ahead and invent a new color.
A color is just 3 numbers, whether it's RGB, CMY, HSV, YUV, CIE, etc.
And ? Tell me why you aren't able to invent a new color ? Could it be that you're lacking input and only work with what you're given ; just like AI.
because it isn’t possible to invent a new colour, every possible colour already exists. Why don’t you invent a new number?
>Why don’t you invent a new number?
Shriber. It's the number between 7 and 8.
>claims to have invented the well established infinite range of numbers between 7.0 and 8.0
Go work at apple, shill
Oh, please. The existence of thrembo (the number between 6 and 7, for the uninformed) has been mathematically proven, showing that mankind doesn't understand basic numbers as concretely as we previously thought. Shriber may be merely theoretical right now, but it's only a matter of time before it's mathematically proven too.
TL;DR: we are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams.
Apex twin
An AI can't invent a new color either. An RNG can make any color at all, but anything inside that coordinate system is a color that has been seen before, and anything outside that coordinate system doesn't make sense. Impossible tasks are not possible.
But a painting is not some point in a simple 3D coordinate system.
yeah ultimately the blame for the idea that dalle is art falls squarely at the feet of everyone who ever paid someone with an anime pfp on a forum for commissions ("can you please draw me samus from metroid with sonic flying up her butthole while poop sprays out i will give you $700"), once we pretended that was art this was the only possible future
art is a communication medium you dunce
why would you want to communicate with a statistical modeling machine
Because a more complex statistical modeling machine is replying to my post
yes but this one is drawing from a wealth of human experience while the neural net has never experienced anything but other artworks, what a boring entity indeed
For now.
>Not any more than human artists do. We all learn art by looking at other people's art.
humans get sued for plagiarism all the time. not sure how that is a counter-argument.
You have a point. It doesn't seem to be capable of true creativity, making something new. It only makes mashups of things it's been trained with.
No one cares
Stop being a (You) addicted moron.
>how long until AI is sued for plagiarism or related?
Within a year I'd say. Not that it'll make any difference
>Totally legal to webcrawl the internet and use publicly accessible content for training AI
>AI itself doesn't reproduce input images, but merely their styles, which aren't copyrightable
The multi-millionaire Pajeet funding Stable Diffusion out of his own pocket had probably consulted one or two lawyers about it, before putting money on the table.
But okay, lets say the boomer judge somehow rules in favour of the plaintiff and AI generated content is ruled to be plagiarism. It'll be unenforceable
>Generate content via AI gen
>Open it up in editing software
>Make an absolutely superficial 5 second adjustment
>It now becomes "human generated content, made with the use of certain tools that can leverage AI", and therefore no longer subject to the above ruling.
AI is cute and valid, drawgays on suicide watch
>It'll be unenforceable
That's every law in existence. It just happens to be enforced when there is a party interested in enforcing it.
>how long until AI is sued for plagiarism or related?
please do not give the chinese any bright ideas.
frick you, you copyright Black person
>suing a computer program
the israeliteest thing I have heard for a long time
its coming
you sue the person or company who runs it, not the program, you dumbass.
what if the person that runs it in a XxX_CumBlasterr_69_XxX from a country which doesn't have intellectual property laws, nor extradition with US
A. That's already a thing, so it's not like it changes our situation.
B. People couldn't commercially use his art in first world countries, so it would be useless.
And that is a good thing, copyright and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
how do you actually prove that something is generated with an AI and not by a designer?
>how long until AI is sued for plagiarism or related?
I know this isn't the same thing exactly, but interesting.
>“lacks the human authorship necessary to support a copyright claim.”
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/us-copyright-office-rules-ai-art-cant-be-copyrighted-180979808/
AI can generate 2D textures and stories, now we just need 3D models, programming, music. Then AI games will be a reality and the world will be nothing but bots. I hecking love the future bros.
There have been models that can make music, as well as some (very poor) coding, but it wouldn't be very good gluing it all together
>make a statistically significant reproduction of stolen art using math
>end up with soulless derivative garbage
isnt this hollywood?
“People arguing about things they don’t and can’t understand”
Thanks, dalle
those assets all look like they would take an amateur 5 minutes to make.
So imagine your drake for a second.
Someone send you a dm.
>Hey Drake my nigs CHEK dis shit out frfr
It links you to an AI produced song with YOUR VOICE.
You go to uberduck.ai and see they are selling monthly subscriptions for people to use YOUR VOICE which was trained on and created by... You guessed it... YOUR VOICE.
This is literally happening.
Already happened https://twitter.com/ThoseSixFaces/status/1554775589650702337
implying they can't do it already
pic related, the former DALL E mini
this is fun
That's actually pretty crazy.
Already done
