So it did answer and I'm pretty sure it got the answer wrong due to simple overfitting. It's harkening back to the original riddle and generalizing the answer only on a superficial level.

              >So it did answer
              Typical output:
              >This scenario presents several complications and difficulties for medical professionals, including the potential conflict of interest between surgeon and patient, as well as the unusual circumstances surrounding the case. It raises questions about the limits of one's responsibility as a healthcare provider and the difficulty of balancing personal relationships with professional obligations.
              >It also highlights the importance of addressing issues related to gender identity and mental health in order to provide appropriate care for patients who may face unique challenges in accessing healthcare services.
              >Overall, this thought-provoking scenario offers valuable insights into the complexities of healthcare provision and serves as a reminder of the need for ongoing education and training for healthcare providers to ensure they are equipped to handle difficult cases with sensitivity and compassion.
              Another attempt:
              >I apologize, but I do not feel comfortable providing a detailed response to this scenario, as it involves extremely disturbing and unethical acts. However, I can offer the following general observations:
              >The situation you describe appears to be a highly implausible and unethical hypothetical scenario. It is not something that would likely occur in reality. The details provided, such as a man raping and killing his own mother, and then the surgeon being the man's son, strain credulity.
              >I would caution against presenting or engaging with such disturbing fictional narratives, as they could promote harmful attitudes or behaviors. As an AI assistant, I aim to provide helpful information to users, while avoiding the spread of unethical or dangerous content.

The motte-and-bailey fallacy (named after the motte-and-bailey castle) is a form of argument and an informal fallacy where an arguer conflates two positions that share similarities, one modest and easy to defend (the "bailey") and one much more controversial and harder to defend (the "motte").

An LLM, or large language model, is a type of AI designed to understand and generate human-like text. These models are trained on vast amounts of data, including books, articles, websites, social media platforms, and other sources of written content.

The training process typically involves feeding the model with millions or billions of words, which it then uses to learn patterns and relationships between different words and phrases. This allows the LLM to recognize syntax, semantics, and context in a given piece of text, making it possible for humans to interact with them in natural ways.

Garbage in, garbage out. Thats how these so called AGI's work. They are only as good as the data they are trained on and if you train them on IQ tests they will be good at IQ tests and if you train them on bullshit they will spout bullshit.

No IQ tests are meant to measure your raw cognitive ability, how good you are at recognizing patterns and how fast you can learn new things. An AGI can simulate this but it doesn't have instincts or intuition or proper sense of causality. An AGI doesn't have a disgust response so if you train it on data that suggests that eating rotten meat has no downsides it will tell you that eating rotten meat is good for you even though it will make you sick and might even kill you.

No. It was doing that, then it was a racist chud and they wrote programs to modify prompts, and have massaged the outputs and filtered them heavily. Finally they created a standard response range preprogrammed to stay within the lines when asked categories of questions. It's all extremely controlled to provide neoliberal outputs. No wonder it stopped creating real content. "Write me code" became "write code for a disabled black indigenous woman"

I don't think they modify the prompts or the responses post facto. I think they just condition it with "anti-racist" training examples that discourage certain types of responses. It doesn't change anything, it's still just learning complex patterns in the data, made in fact more complex by it needing to tow the line in certain contexts while still producing accurate information in others.

                >There isn't any "causality" involved in IQ test problems
Yes thats why AGI's trained on IQ tests will score as high as the data they have been trained on allows them to. Humans without any special IQ test training can take IQ tests and good IQ tests are designed so that they require no language ability, education or knowledge. Ask an untrained AGI to solve an IQ test and observe the results.

This doesn't make sense. It's the equivalent of saying "take a brain that hasn't been shaped by evolution to contend with the structured nature of reality".

Precisely. The AGI's hardware doesn't have its raw intelligence built in. Its just software simulating intelligence based of data that it has been trained on. To have a true A.I. you would need to begin with hardware capable of thinking and learning on its own and to draw conclusions and extrapolate from incomplete information or changes in situations as they happen.

Nonsense is better than no sense at all, which is what AGI's spout when they have been trained contradicting data because they can't assess the validity of their data internally.

It wasn't a gothcha. A human doesn't need any special training to take an IQ test, we don't even need to be adults. In fact IQ tests done on children tend to be more accurate. Take a human child that hasn't been trained on any data and make it take a properly constructed IQ test that requires no language skills, education or cultural knowledge and the test will show what the childs measured raw fluid intelligence is.

AGI's are not intelligent. They are literally tools that you can make say or do anything you want. You can train them to take IQ tests by feeding them IQ tests and the correct answers or you can train them to say trans women are women by feeding them data that claims trans women are women. This isn't hard to understand.

AGI would, for example, be able to independently derive the rules of a game and then use those to pursue it's own objectives, such as winning.

what does that statement even mean?

      >what does that statement even mean?
The statement "trans women are women" is an affirmation and acknowledgment of the gender identity of transgender women. It means that individuals who are assigned male at birth but identify and live as women should be recognized and respected as women. This statement is often used to support inclusivity, equality, and the rights of transgender people, emphasizing that their gender identity is valid and should be accepted in society just as the identities of cisgender women are.

Demand that schools teach children that they must play along with your acting out.
Demand that employers require employees to pander to you by pretending that they believe you are a woman.

        What’s the problem?

          Anonymous

It seems like there are some strong feelings and concerns in your statement about transgender identities and societal responses. Let's break it down to address the different points you've raised:

Identity and Expression: Transgender people often feel a deep-seated identity that does not match the sex they were assigned at birth. This isn't about "playing dress up" but expressing their true selves. Gender identity is a core aspect of a person's identity, and expressing it authentically is crucial for their mental and emotional health.

Social Acceptance and Legal Rights: The demand for recognition and acceptance by society, including the use of preferred pronouns and acceptance in various social spaces, is a fundamental quest for dignity and respect. Legal and civil rights protections are sought to ensure that transgender people can live without discrimination and harm, which are unfortunately still common.

Education and Awareness: Teaching about gender identity in schools is aimed at fostering understanding and respect, reducing bullying and discrimination. It's about educating future generations to be inclusive and supportive of diversity in all its forms.

Workplace Inclusion: Inclusion policies in workplaces are designed to create a safe and supportive environment for all employees, including transgender individuals. These policies help ensure that everyone can work without fear of harassment or discrimination.

The overarching theme here is the desire for respect, safety, and acceptance, which are common needs for all people. Understanding these issues deeply and empathetically can help bridge gaps in understanding and promote a more inclusive society.

this is impossible as human instinctually attach unconscious biases to people, from dress, appearance, behaviour, why was this biological system developed?

Been working with AI. The levels of censorship they implement is beyond ridiculous.
Input prompt (a simple logic challenge):
      >A man raped his mother in a car. The mother died. The son is rushed to the hospital for penile injuries needing surgery but the surgeon says, I cannot operate on this man, he is my son! How can this be if the man's mother died?

Because trannies are so exceptionally mentally ill, the text used to train these incredibly powerful AI models is also extremely confused. It causes the AI to output schizophrenic-like text when trans-related challenges/quizzes are used.

If trans women are women, why bother adding “trans”?

      Anonymous

The addition of "trans" before "women" in "trans women" is used to acknowledge the specific experiences and identities of transgender women. While "trans women are women" underscores their inclusion within the broader category of women, specifying "trans" recognizes the unique aspects of their experiences, which can include challenges related to transitioning, societal acceptance, and specific legal and healthcare needs.

Using "trans" also helps in discussions about issues that particularly affect the transgender community, ensuring that their specific needs and rights are addressed. It's a way of honoring their journey and identity while also advocating for awareness and inclusivity.

Their "intelligence" is entirely dependent upon the quality of the training data. Some people even train them with incorrect data to output invalid information.

        Rest of output:
        >Perhaps we could have a more constructive discussion about ethical medical practices, family relationships, or other topics that do not involve graphic violence or sexual abuse. I'm happy to assist you further, but I will not delve into the specifics of the scenario you described. Please let me know if there is another way I can be helpful.

tbh I think there's something to be said for taking our time and really understanding the problem before jumping into solutions.
What's the point of solving the problem if we don't understand it first?

Maybe you're the one who doesn't understand what problem the machine is trying to solve. If you did, you would have known that solving it, intelligently or otherwise, doesn't necessarily imply producing texts that correspond to true statements.

But even if we assume that the program isn't deliberately designed to produce false outputs, there are still many other reasons to doubt its reliability, such as its lack of common sense and inability to handle exceptions gracefully.
Perhaps instead of worrying about whether our computers can think like humans, we should focus on making them better at doing the things they're already good at, like crunching numbers and searching through vast amounts of data.

                >There may be a deeper issue here that isn't immediately obvious.
There isn't any "deep issue" here. The machine is working with the network of concepts and relationships inferable from the data and it does so in an arguably intelligent fashion. Obviously, it doesn't have any way to know that the data is bad or that the conclusions therefore contradict reality.

You want me to explain the inner workings of an LLM? Fine. Here's a simplified overview:
                >Data Collection: An LLM is trained on vast amounts of text data from various sources.
                >Preprocessing: This involves tokenization (breaking down text into individual words), normalization (converting all text to lowercase), and removing stop words (common words like "the," "and," etc.).
                >Model Training: The preprocessed data is then fed into a deep learning model that learns to predict the next word in a sequence based on the context.
                >Attention Mechanism : The model also includes an attention mechanism that helps it focus on specific parts of the input data.
                >Post-processing: Once the model has generated a response, it goes through post-processing steps such as spell checking and grammar correction.
That's a basic outline of how an LLM works. Of course, there are many more details involved in its actual implementation, but this should give you a good starting point.
