ChatGPT is not a revolution

ChatGPT is just like a sophisticated search engine, no different than Google or Wolfram Alpha in terms of the information it spits out. I'm sick of normies thinking this will change everything. Give me more reasons why ChatGPT and these AI chatbots aren't a massive revolution and won't take away all jobs.

I think the charge could be made here and now that A.I. has always been and will always be a matter of
      - mobilization control
      - press control
And furthermore, A.I. researchers have not firmly established a kind of "Western hegemony led by the U.S.A." that transmits the values of freedom; rather, A.I. has an uneasy relationship with communism and the armed forces responsible for Western security.
Films such as "Wargames" 1983 and "Real Genius" 1985 illustrate the basic principles: both unplanned catastrophe and planned subversion thwart the Western armed forces

Google's search has been a machine learning model since 2011. The SEOs "train" the model to their advantage.it won't be long since people start doing the same with ChatGPT et al.

Yes but google had the advantage of collecting data before the internet was dead which is why they have billions of results they have to hide to make room for the two dozen or so pages of results for each search term. Good luck making your own crawlers and indexers to come up with that kind of data now that all the IPs are encrypted and portscanning is dead, why do you think all the search engines rely on google?

Here are some reasons why ChatGPT is not revolutionary:

ChatGPT is a type of AI language model, which has been developed over the past few years, building on existing research in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning. While ChatGPT is a highly advanced model, it is not the first or only model of its kind.

ChatGPT is limited by the data it is trained on and the algorithms it uses. It cannot truly understand or reason about the world in the way that humans do, and its responses are based on statistical patterns in its training data.

ChatGPT is still a work in progress, and there are many challenges that remain in building truly revolutionary AI systems. While it is a step forward in the field of AI, it is not yet the transformative technology that some may expect.

There are limitations to how ChatGPT can be used in practical applications, particularly in industries where accuracy, privacy, and security are critical factors. For example, it may not be suitable for certain types of legal or medical applications where accuracy and privacy are essential.

Finally, while ChatGPT is an impressive tool, it is important to remember that it is just one of many tools that can be used to solve problems and create value in the world. There are many other technologies and approaches that can be just as valuable, depending on the context and application.

You are a moron and you are wrong, here's why:
Yes, ChatGPT is not the first or only AI language model, but that doesn't mean it's not revolutionary. It represents a significant improvement over previous models and has pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the field of NLP.

Regarding the limitations of data and algorithms, it's true that ChatGPT is not capable of true understanding or reasoning about the world. However, it's important to remember that this is a problem for all AI models, not just ChatGPT. The fact that ChatGPT can generate coherent, contextually appropriate responses based on statistical patterns is still a remarkable feat.

Furthermore, the fact that ChatGPT is a work in progress is a testament to its revolutionary potential. There is still so much room for improvement and innovation in the field of AI, and ChatGPT represents a significant step forward.

As for practical applications, ChatGPT has already been used in a variety of industries with great success. While it may not be suitable for all applications, its potential uses are vast and varied.

Finally, I agree that ChatGPT is just one of many tools that can be used to solve problems and create value in the world. However, it's important to recognize the unique advantages that ChatGPT offers, such as its ability to generate natural-sounding language and its potential for use in conversational interfaces.

In conclusion, while ChatGPT may not be perfect or without limitations, its revolutionary potential cannot be denied. We should celebrate the advances that have been made and look forward to the exciting possibilities that lie ahead in the field of AI.

Are you confusing psychiatry for psychology again?
It would respond with similar language as clinical psychologists who provide therapy to people prone to psychosis to potentially give them tools to recognized when a psychotic episode is either coming on or happening or behaviors to snap them out of it.

Is that what your shrink tells you? AI cognitive behavioral therapy would be much more comprehensive.

chatbots will take away a lot of "white collar" "desk" type jobs, which is what people are b***hing about. They don't want their Java degree to be worth less than a mechanic or bartender

            >cost
a lot is testing/regulation, you don't want your robot slave to drop a set screw or lubricant in your burger. same thing with drivers, nurses, etc which will take a long time to become reliable and trustworthy enough to really compete with humans on a cost/performance scale.

Does anyone think that ChatGPT will take away all jobs requiring creativity (programming, writing, etc)?

Can robot slaves ever match humans on a cost/performance scale at all forms of labor? Maybe robots CAN do everything a human could do, but wouldn't match humans when it comes to cost/performance?

Here are some reasons why ChatGPT is not revolutionary:

                >Does anyone think that ChatGPT will take away all jobs requiring creativity (programming, writing, etc)?
I doubt many people are at the specific level of belief where they think AI is soon going to replace all human endeavor but not full fearmonger doomsday preacher where they think it will immediately exterminate us all

I think the kind of "creative" work that doesn't actually require any creativity like churning out garbage buzzfeed articles or producing shitty stock art for advertisements are already in immediate danger of being replaced. Complex creative jobs that require fine-tuned control or more creativity than just directly rehashing something that was already done don't seem in danger at all from current models, although maybe that will change.

A million kinds of no. ChatGPT is one step advanced past the predictive typing feature on your iPhone. It can generate plausible sounding text; that's all. It can't do it WELL.

You are basically right, it's not even a good search engine it frequently makes mistakes.

The only thing people are actually impressed with is the GAN models for generating code and vector graphics. However, this is not exclusive to chatGPT and there are better models.

ChatGPT is basically just a literal israelite paying some midwits to write glue code for querry interpretation to feed to other models with an added political filter for no real reason.
