Medical bot is pretty fricking sick tho. Consider the following. A patient presents with superficial symptoms of liver failure and reports alcohol consumption. However consider 3 subsets of liver failure. Immuno disease due to the vaccine, alcohol induced liver failure and Liver failure from blunt force trauma. Considering the large portion of vaccinated and the possible correlation of alcohol dependence and domestic violence. A medical bot trained on the standard model could just treat that as alcohol consumption liver failure. Whereas a proper model would understand the importance of proper diagnosis, for treatment. since Autimmune disease liver failure does better with corticosteroid injection treatment and blunt force trauma liver failure would be looked at for possibility of internal bleeding.

I dunno my point..but we only know what we know.

Alright I think I got the solution for HOUSE MD. You load up a second Generated Adverserial Network that tells ChatGPT everything it says is WRONG! Then its like 10x better as it quantifies the odds of an incomplete diagnosis. BOOM! frick you pay me.

It took my wife 3 years to get diagnosed with asthma because doctors are equal parts moronic and shackled by insurance companies. I had to literally go into a doctors office with her and tell the doctor she had fricking asthma and to skip all the intro bullshit insurance requires and give her an inhaler.

In the end insurance companies are going to decide what this bot gets to do.

I can totally see that outcome where its just some stupid corrupt piece of shit and its israelitebot 3,000.. and you got to go into the sewer where some guy open sourced it on a build to get a more complete or accurate diagnosis. They pretty much already did that with the AI that does Computer Graphics. Pulled it out of the paywall and it became efficient and exciting.

Yeah. The robodoc would be better at pretty much everything compared to a human given it could correlate gorillions of data points and medical diagnostics are just that. This will be like the artist vs ai but more gay since they would rather people die than use a fricking tool.

While humans may perform less surgery, there will be humans who have to "operate", that is to say, oversee the robodoc or families of said "robodocs", not unlike how an instructor in medical school leads medical students presently. This will require knowledge of the physical process of performing surgery, which can only be learned by experience. The professions are thus just pushed to higher orders of expertise. In other words, their expertise will be in the interaction between categories of knowledge, rather than within a specific category.

Hasn't passed the PE exam yet so I'm still kind of safe. I have both a PE (professional engineer) and PG (professional geologist) license, as I'm a geotechnical engineer.

I can see these exams being notoriously difficult for AI to pass because they require you to recognize and analyze drawings, which AI isn't well trained in yet. I'm sure it will happen some day, but my job is fairly safe because I'm a design engineer working on projects that require highly variable surveying data.

Feeding the raw data into an AI would yield unreliable results mainly because the number of possibilities becomes enormous and beyond the processing power of AI at least from a mathematical standpoint. Just to put this into perspective, an enormous amount of computing power is utilized (something like 15-20% of all US computing capacity) just to clean up seismic logs for oil exploration. ExxonMobil and other large oil companies own huge super computers just for this purpose.

The AI can be taught to take shortcuts in terms of interpreting data so it doesn't have to manually "solve the equation" by testing quadrillions of possible permutations of insanely complex PDEs that simulate fluid dynamics, but the end result will be an unreliable design that may make multi-million dollar mistakes and extend projects significantly.

AI will probably put a lot of civil engineers out of work because everything above the ground level is simple and predictable.

Get ready for a flood of fake pajeet and chink doctors and lawyers. To see what will happen look at Dubai’s pajeet doctors. Like 97% of people born there are C-section babies. Because these fake doctors keep recommending c-sections because they’re more expensive and they get to make more money from an operation.

The only sensible take from this is that those tests are bullshit and do not measure anything worthwhile. That AI doesn't have the skillset to practice medicine (yet atleast).

  18. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

    >notoriously difficult tests such as the United States Medical Licensing Exam and the Bar
Those are not difficult. They are just HARD GATEKEEPED.

For example I can create a test with simple questions about a topic all "professionals in this field" can't answer. This is why tests are moronic, because they don't test your knowledge, they only test how much the person in charge to grade you likes the answers.

For example let's say I invent something like the "zero point low equation" and then ask you "proof that the length of this side is X with the Zero Point Low Equation".
Guess what? If I demand this equation and you don't correctly write it on paper, it's zero points and you fail, no matter the rest of the answer.

This is why tests are bullshit. Also look at lawyers and doctors. I have seen so many shitty lawyers and doctors who had no idea what they are doing, that I know for a fact that tests are garbage.

One easy example for a lawyer:
Look at the Texas VS Aaron Dean trial. The fricking defense lawyer was too moronic to understand a fricking law paragraph. He was unable to understand how semantics and subordinate clauses work. The same with the prosecution.

This is where we live at. The reason ChatGPT passes is simply because it already has all the answers and just rewrites them or otherwise it simply couldn't answer this arbitrage garbage.

The other issue with law and medicine licensing exams is that they require very little actual thought. They just require you to memorize huge quantities of information and regurgitate them on demand. This makes it very easy for AI to pass, because AI has a much larger capacity to memorize something than a human brain.

An AI can't think, it can only replicate things from past knowledge. If I ask an AI to do something novel or new, it simply can't manage the task because it doesn't actually possess the ability to think.

If I tell the AI to design a foundation for a 100 story skyscraper, it will produce something that resembles existing foundation designs for other very tall skyscrapers. But because the AI doesn't understand the surveying data, it doesn't know how deep the bedrock is, or what the groundwater characteristics are, or what the overlying soil type/geology is, so this foundation would most likely unfeasible in 80% of cases. If I fed all of the other data into the AI, it would crash because it can't copy a similar enough case and the mathematical equations involved to produce a new outcome would be too overwhelming. The AI, at best, could be used as an aid to engineers in order to speed up the design process for certain components. Instead of me spending a week on Civil 3D to design the specific arrangement of steel piles, I could just define their characteristics to the AI, it will spit something out that will be 90% decent and I'll handle the remaining 10%.
