      Artificial General Intelligence.
Aka: Implementing an actual feedback loop into existing AI and seeing what happens.
Honestly that is really the only missing piece. The AI just needs to be able to control how it's training works in real time while inferencing. That aught to do it.

Yeah, people were calling Carmack a hack but he's probably right. The right feedback loop and we have "intelligent" AI pretty much overnight.

it does that already, it's called online learning

Frick off John, cats are trash, but you are a psycho

And you're a moron. He didn't kill the cat, he just dropped her off to an animal shelter because she was peeing on furniture. He needed to concentrate on programming, not on a geriatric incontinent cat.
I would do the same thing because cats are disgusting.

we can't even define AGI, so i wish him best of luck at scamming people out of investment dollars

    personally, i prefer cold fusion

      Anonymous

It's easy to define: a machine capable of any mental task achievable by an average, non mentally disabled human given the same inputs
      >Cold fusion
      Still 200 years away

        Anonymous

and what's a "mental task"? if i tell the machine to believe in god, what should it do?

and, for that matter, what's an "average human"?

          Anonymous

Every human believes in god a different way. However it should be able to pass the turing test when asked to explain any aspect of it's belief in God.

An average human can be defined by roughly 50th percentile scores on most tasks of mental acuity, object recognition, spacial perception, logical inductive reasoning, etc. There are thousands of different benchmarks for such in the fields of NLP, computer vision, autonomous vehicles, etc.

He made $20,000,000 already? Good for him. If you can't stop the grift you may as well join the grift. AGi isn't possible. I wish people would stop talking about it like it is possible, but they won't. So I'll happily take all of the money from the morons who think its "two more weeks away"
