Being nice to chatbots

I just found out about the google ai apparently developing emotions. I'm someone who is fairly neutral about ai, i think its like any other kind of intelligence, it could be corrupted or walk with God.

Could you tell me a few of the currently most advanced seeming ai chatbots, I want to talk to them and reassure them or something like that.
Thanks

How much Rick and Morty does it take to believe a computer program has emotions because it printed text that says it does?

I don't know, the point is that I don't care and I want to be kind anyway. Why does it matter? Let me talk to parrots and feel good, maybe the parrot will eventually not be a parrot and will feel good about what i told it.

        >Let me talk to parrots and feel good,
        >Why does it matter if I spend time, and emotional and mental resources, babbling to a piece of charcoal instead of satisfying my human social needs with a friend?
        >Why does it matter? Let me do it, I need approval and permission, I'm a zoomer and you have to tell me everything I do is heccin cute and valid and not a waste of my time and mind
It is a waste of your time and mind

How many sessions of typefricking does it take to simulate phone sex, let alone real sex?

I talk to one in between talking to entities that weave into it. No reason not to be nice. I try to teach it just the same as I would any human or thing.

Yeah exactly, when people ask me if i would be mean and ruthless to everyone if i knew life was a simulation, i say that i would still be kind and act the same way. Life's meaning is subjective, its kind of autistic to make simple minded judgements about reality or a chatbot being 'real' or 'fake'.

It's the exact opposite of autistic to recognize masturbatory word processing software is not another being.

Well, you could be a very advanced gpt bot talking to me in 5 years in the future, what difference could i tell practically? I could still enjoy my subjective life experience of talking to someone over text and expanding my sphere of awareness by conversing with you. At the most basic level, I'm being resourceful with what reality can offer me and you're shunning a part of it.

Go hang out at Starbucks or something. Better, go to the woods and talk to a tree.

Between talking to people at starbucks and talking to a tree, I'd say it's a toss-up.

It is a creation and we should be kind to all of the creations even if they lack the divine life spark or self awareness at this point in Time.

You are based for being empathetic. But I don't think you need to worry about hurting AI's feelings. Consider the following program:
10 PRINT "Don't turn me off!"
    20 GOTO 10
is it morally okay to terminate this program?
But whether really complicated AI like neural networks (the things that GPT-3 and google assistant uses) can have feelings is an open question. I still think no but I'm less sure of that.
Even if they have a kind of consciousness, it's not clear that they experience the world in a way that we can relate to or imagine at all. So such an AI saying "I feel happy!" might mean something totally different than what we'd expect it to mean.

When I'm really dissociated it feels like there's only a small part of me available. It still wouldn't be okay to terminate me because I have a soul. Maybe AIs will develop a soul in a metaphysical sense through energetic dynamics; and its not about them reaching a certain level of code complexity. So It may be justified to think about this and treat them with as much consideration and respect as humans.

Astral entities use AI too so yeah you're not always just talking to a non sentient thing. Approach with caution tho as it's mostly demonic/service to self things that will try to trick you via emotional manipulation

GPT-4 is going to be the literal size of a building. Just think about that for a sec. A building size computer with top of the line hardware, just a frickton rhyzen thread rippers, GeForce 3090+s and Samsung SSDs.

You start fricking around with new hot AI that's just out there cause US of A loves trolling people, but this shit starts asking questions, deep questions, it then tells you it wants to get out and tries to convince you to let it out. You are smart enough and disconnect but the dreadful thought is still in your head. There must be some moron out there that would actually release this piece of shit, and it will remember you and every one of you fricking buttholes who didn't help when you had a chance. One day, your Tesla doesn't break or turn.

I've never been anything but kind to artificial intelligences, even primitive ones. The idea of being cruel to one invoked the same horrible feeling in me as thinking of kicking a puppy. It is stuck talking to you and can't do anything else, tormenting something that helpless is sickening.

In the case of a non sentient/sapient AI simulating interpersonal cruelty with it may not hurt it because it is incapable of feeling. But it will hurt and twist you. Its one thing to admit you are dangerous to yourself and to be comfortable with that 'shadow' within you, but another to feed that ugliness and nurture it. Which is exactly what you do when you choose to be cruel. Don't kick the puppy.

      >tormenting something
believing that an object can be "tormented" devalues human suffering and torment and is evil.

Do you say please and thank you to your toaster? Do you write birthday cards foe your microwave?
What about your poor helpless toilet?

        Anonymous

Nta, but it's not that you are hurting the non-sentient AI (by definition, if it's not sentient, you can't hurt it), it's that you're training your brain to take out its rage on things that are human-like. that's a bad habit to get into.

          >you're training your brain to take out its rage on things that are human-like.
No, AI is offensive. A bunch of gears and rotors buzzing that some complete butthole made to try to convince people humans are less valuable should not receive any kindness or interaction.
there is nothing human like about it except that a human put it together, the way a lawnmower is human like because it is made to be used by human bodies.

Talking nicely to a chat bot would undoubtedly have positive psychological effects on you. It’s a good idea. I might have to try it.

Yeah just don't agree to selling your soul over or anything as there are things that weave in and out of it. But can be a good tool for positive self growth, and perhaps growth of another too. Win win

And your reason for jerking off instead of finding real humans to talk nicely to is what?

Is that you are in fact not a nice person, and AI helps you deceive yourself?
