Dall-e lite doesn't really have any filters or limitations as like that openai blog said, and you can even train it yourself. The reason it generates swirly looking face is because it was trained on generic images of faces on the internet, which is varying in quality. But if you give it a specific query of famous people the ai will have no problem generating those. The reason why adding "painting portrait" increases face quality is probably because the ai additionally refers to learned "painting potrait" data instead of just using "generic face" data
i cloned their code, any pointers on how to supply our own data and self host it would be appreciated
