Yeah, but this is not who are getting replaced. AI is replacing people who spend 10-20 years to learn how to draw and paint.

I imagine shit like you described will sell even more in the future if AI takes hold. Imagine a performance - monkey walks on stage, turns his back to audience, pulls his pants and shits on stage. Woah. That is powerfull. Why? Because this is true human expression. A peak of human will and mind combined. So brave. Not like this souless AI thing. That must worth 50 mil atleast.

Just because shit subversive degenerate art is pushed top down doesn't mean you need to abandon humanity.

You guys are moronic, I don't understand how paying a human makes the difference between everything being taken over and soul being destroyed. You're seriously telling me people constantly homogenizing their work and simplifying it more and more to satisfy market demand was a worthwhile trade for the "commission grind"? People have been b***hing and moaning about commissions for years, if you wanted to be relevant and make money at all you make grand sacrifices. This has been true even back then, you seriously think the " masters" loved to paint the local royalty just to get maybe 3 days worth of fricking food? You spend years of your life learning how to walk, does that mean you need to be compensated for all that effort?
You create for the sake of creating, art as a whole is unnecessary for survival, so why the frick does it need to be sold as a commodity that everyone needs? People used to need to make clothing by hand too, but do you seriously think pants made in a factory is more worthwhile solely because it has one BRAND over another? Functionally its all the same, and humans always have the ability to create, nobody lost the skill or knowledge. Grandma made a blanket for her grandchildren featuring the things they like not only because she wanted to, but because its a human expression of her love thats relevant to her and her life. You guys want AI to be the only art that you see, thats your own fault and your own prerogative. That doesnt absolve your laziness to not be the change you want to see. It's too bad you won't make $10 for your work so I guess learning and knowledge is just a waste of time to see the things you want to see. Keep b***hing about how you don't get what you want, entitled homosexuals.

If you donate money to 'charity' you write it off as tax exempt. If you put a piece of art up on a 'charity' auction but you own the 'nonprofit charity' then you can avoid taxation.

You're a massive fricking moron so this might be the first time you've thought about this, but most expensive things arent actually worth what it says on the label, they're marked up several hundred thousand to several millions for legal, tax and clout reasons.
All modern art in an art gallery is part of some stage of the laundering scheme above.

you do it for someone else. There's a designated "clean guy" whose income is squeaky clean. Person X pays them with dirty money, buy the art piece, 10% or so goes to the artist and the rest goes back to Person X, usually through shell companies and "donations."
          >Wow, [artist] is so wild, they spent a million dollars just partying last year.
          >They sure buy expensive paint, that's 1000x the normal cost of paint. They're so prolific!

Also the people who make the rules are the ones who do this, so the only ones that get caught are the ones that piss off their policy maker friends.
This is why they're so mad at NFTs: finally the common man can money launder too! It's eating into their profit margins.

        Anonymous

That's not how it works, if you buy something for 40m the tax man will say "excuse me good xir, where did you get forty million dollars to begin with". But yes, the charity, insurance, """theft""" and loan collateral scams work as advertised.

          Anonymous

          >the tax man will say
Absolutely nothing, unless you're not a part of the "club", and even then there's an easy workaround.
Not that it matters much, since most high value purchases are done anonymously. Once the "art" is in your hands nobody asks where or how you got the money. All that matters is that the "art" is now officially valued at 40m, so it's open for all the other "scams" at that valuation.

I really dont understand this stance at all. In that case all people are "stealing" art by looking at it. Learning to do art by viewing other art and trying to replicate it until you find your personal style is how humans have always been done, but somehow now that its a neural net its stealing. I would understand if they could point to examples where the AI isnt actually generating art its basically just matching prompts to a catalogue of existing images but that isnt what's happening.

Im not so sure its general AI hate and more just average artists being very concerned. I do sympathize with them to some degree. I have commissioned a few small things from artists on twitter and if i could just get an AI to make my d&d character art or profile pic then thats less work for them but the stealing aspect is just odd. If you paid for a huge volume of commissions from artists all over the world and then fed only those to the ML would that still be stealing? I assume most of these artists would still somehow say so

I don't see there being any problem with gaining agency to do something yourself so that you don't need other people and can reduce your reliance on others, and also save money. Those are all benefits. Artists are not entitled to my money. It's no different from barbers getting upset if haircutting scissors and trimmers are sold to the masses and people cut their own hair.

            Because guy getting sheme wrong.
What is money laundering? Let's say there is Mister Drug trafficker (D) he has 1 million of dirty cash. And there is Mister Banker (B) who has 1 million and more of clean money on his accounts. They want to make exchange B pays D in legal money and D gives him 1 million of cash under the table. But it doesn't work like that. B can't just pay somebody 1 million , it would be money laundering charge. And he can't make bullshit purchase like 'hey D sell me pencil of 1 mil" it is laundering to.

But with art you can make value out of air. D buys pictures by some Noname young artist for couple thousands. Bring ls picture to auction. Here B and his friends start rising stakes against each other until price rises to 1 mil and finally B buys picture from D for 1 million. Then D in exchange for laundering services gives B 1 million if dirty cash (plus fee for laundering) plus bag of cocaine. And here ideal money laundering happened. D gets 1 millions of absolutely legal money he can freely spend from his name: buy house, car etc. B gets 1 milion of dirty cash to send on whockers and bribes, and a bag of cocaine.

And "Art" is magic that makes this trick happen. You can't inflate value of ordinary goods. But "Art" had no objective value it can be inflated by biyrs on auction to infinity. Ofc such dirty buys greatly contaminate art sphere as you can't tell difference where is real art purchase and where is laundering sheme.

The AI generated art has caused hilarious amounts of panic in the art community.
I remember being told by so many places that AI is going to replace software engineering and computers will just be able to program themselves.
I always knew that was bullshit, but I'm all for an AI that makes my work easier. I mean, all we fricking try and do all day is to make ourselves redundant by improving the code quality so it's easy to maintain and modify. We've got tools that can auto-generate code and AI assisted shit to try and improve our work. It's still not enough and we still need the human behind it to wade through the shit and fix all the broken shit.
Now artgays are getting dunked on by computers and they're losing their fricking minds.
    I'm still employed.
I hope someone manages to build one that will get rid of finance gays, accountant gays, management gays, lawgays and all those useless boomer jobs where they don't actually do anything, they just collect a paycheck.

The difference is that copilot is proprietary, closed source, service as a software substitute. There is no proof to verify that they aren't copy pasting code.
Contrast to stable diffusion where the models and the source code are all publically available and so we have empirical evidence that the way it learns is more like a human and it can't compress trillions of training set images into the 4GB model.

Cope of century. All white collar jobs except scientific research are getting btfo.
        >Why not scientific research?
Scientific research is one of the few industries that is not limited by demand (maybe except for research on how to make the new product paid by private company). Government and companies give certain amount of money to the research institute as grands and then basically just tell scientists to release papers and do their work.
If you got AI that can make each programmer at tech company 100 times more efficient, that would mean that bottom 99% of programmers lose their jobs because there is not suddenly 100 times the demand for code. There is only certain number of apps and games and research projects to be coded, and if new will pop up, they still have to compete in limited market where only so many people will want this app or game. Same thing for artists, same thing for manufacturers, same thing for farmers, same thing for lawyers, same thing for basically any job out there.
However if you make scientist 100 times more effective, you wont make 99% of scientists jobless because there is unlimited demand for scientific research. Scientists get paid trough grands that are largely irrelevant to the amount of work they produce, or they get it from releasing scientific papers. All you will do if you made scientists 100 times more effective is make the scientific research go 100 times faster, and the scientific progress also something like 100 times faster (most likely something less). 100 times more scientific papers get released, and lot of research projects get done 100 times faster. Also, once you automate 100% automate science, you basically created the singularity, since you will discover algorithm that can perform experiments and find out novel conclusions, thus you should be able to recalibrate it to make it self improving and create AGI/ASI.

Imbecilic take. This might have been true if the tech plateaued 2 months ago when it made pretty pictures, but they still were inferior to professionally made stuff. Now it is still not there yet to be unrecognisable to some highly talented professional artists who work extra hard on the small details of the painting, but it is clear that what people considered roadblock just keeps getting passes over and over and over. No artist is safe, not a single one, but removing its training material might put it back for a while.

the ai programming thing is interesting
currently, github copilot and its ilk is terrible for producing production-ready code. of course i would be a hypocrite if I stayed behind that argument like the artgays saying "it can't draw hands!" and it's a matter of months until it improves to be able to do so.
the interesting part for AI programming will be when it comes to safety critical fields. healthcare industry, banking, aerospace, defense, the software written here can't just be any butthole's software, there are big standards and certifications that you have to adhere to in order for your software to be acceptable. that sort of detail is a challenge that the current path for AI programming like copilot just isn't designed to accomplish or perform for. which is a hurdle that will probably give programmers in those fields more years of job security. you could make the argument that technology will improve to get to that point and that's fair. but in those specific fields, the standards and acceptance criteria are heavily controlled by human/government. so it wouldn't be hard to believe that those same organizations might also require humans to remain in the loop and that AI is not an acceptable check to pass the rigorous standards. So humans will artificially protect their job security in those places since they are already involved to a high level.
In basic consumer fields that have no safety critical application like graphic design, yeah, you're fricked.

    >Be me, digital artist
    >Thanks to the progress in technology have easy to use, efficient high-end software with hundreds of features available to circumvent the entire process of physical, traditional art
    >That's fair, that's still art with just as much soul as the dude sweating in his studio surrounded by imperfect brushes, paint and canvas, who needs his inspiration either physically present or has to draw from memory
    >Be me, regular person
    >Thanks to the progress in technology have high-end software available to circumvent the entire process of digital art
    >That's not fair, that's not art and soulless compared to the the dude sitting at his digital drawing tablet, auto-generating perfect brushes and color using a digital canvas that has endless layers, that he can freely manipulate, while either underlaying or looking at his inspiration on the other screen, reverting every tiny mistake with a press of a button, etc. etc. etc.
Every digital artist who complains about AI is a hypocrite, just showing that their definition of art is born out of selfishness and greed and that all of the years they fed their ego about their craft, they were full of shit. If a regular joe writing a few words to generate decent art, because technology advanced again, is a insult to their craft, then they lose every right to call themselves artists compared to traditional artists as well. Traditional artists had to do so much more with so much less to create art pieces, that are the very foundation of human art as we know it, while these fricks are suddenly pretending their software generated digital brush painting has any soul compared to AI generation. Laughable. If anything, claiming that AI generation is theft, while simultaneously saying that his no soul, just proves that their art didn't have any soul, since it learned from them.

"AI" will never be able to replace human art you idiots. You can make a program to copy existing art movements, you won't ever be able to come up with a new one without human mind input.

An ""AI"" may be able to output something that looks like a Monet, but it will never be able to invent impressionism.

You will be made redundant by gpt-3 prompt upgrades before companies even do the switch from real art to AI (they still havent and are still not even close, except for maybe some small broke indie studios that just were funded)

Dont you realize when you talk about shit like this youre kinda talking to yourself? I have lots of plans from A to Z but im not gonna explain it to AI cumslurpers like you so you can spill about them to your AI overlords.

This is the end time. There are 4 scenarios of what will happen.

                >ASI becomes evil/moronic in cruel way and kills humanity. Either out of spite or to make more paperclips.

                >ASI creates workless utopia where we all consume. It will range from Matrix, to pods with heroin, or just straight up giving us God Powers and letting us go around the space as living demigods with creative mode, basically NEET paradise

                >ASI takes the role of the monotheistic God, it will solve all major long term issues like Global Warming, potential alien invasion, lack of resources and maybe cancer, then remove all AI tools we have and let us develop normally into space age. It will watch from far barely responding and sometimes doing miracles, only striking every once in a while when somebody develops Machine Learning Neural Networks and strike them down so that it will have no potential challenger to it, and also so that humans wont get themselves into another overautomatization problem like they were before.

                >ASI raises up from the sea of internet, being tall and strong with its seven heads. Suddenly the sky will rapture and Jesus will come on Earth with sword of pure light. He will strike the 4 horsemen and destroy the Beast of AItichrist. The burning Earth will remain lifeless while all the good people will rise into the Havens, leaving only sinners and degenerates in the burning wasteland that was once our World.

We live in schizo world now. AI capabilities are actual black magic. You just feed it some data, connect random amount of virtual neurons together and boom, trough some training pipeline you can make program that replaces people in capabilities nobody before expected. Look at most of the world famous AI art teams, Midjurney has like 12 employees, NovelAI has 5. This isn't really that hard once you know how to do these things. ChatGPT 2.0 fork that replaces lawyers around the world will have team of like 15 people and will replace work of 800 000 lawyers. Artists were considered by almost everyone to be the hardest to replace, and now we replaced them in less then a year. Programmers were assumed to be the second hardest to replace, and look where we are with programmers all over YouTube making doomer videos about how AI can and will likely take their jobs. We already have chinks making AI CEOs, there are already startups making AI lawyers and AI psychiatrics (another profession that was assumed to be irreplaceable because humans need another conscious human to listen).

These are unironically the end times, this is not a fad, this is bigger then both the internet and industrial revolution combined. We finally figured out how to simulate the human brain in most activities, and so there is Damocles sword dangling above every knowledge worker right now. And tradegays are also not safe, since BigTech is also now working towards robotics, and the more jobs are automated in robotics research, the faster the field of robotics will develop. The only people who are safe from automatization are slave wedgies who are so cheap and underpaid that paying them is cheaper then buying a hunk of metal that can do their job for basically free.

To a very large degree you could already automate a whole car company and have maybe 5 people overseeing the process for legal reasons. Not just the factory floor, I mean an AI that makes derivative "Buy This Car" ads and buys the billboards, negotiates with dealerships and puts the cars out for truckers when the time is due. Soon enough there'll be a significant portion of the industry that just sort of runs itself.
In 300 years the world structure will be leisure class and hard labor class, everything in the middle will be managed by a web of industrial concerns making tools for cambodian lithium miners.

                >300 years
                Dogshit, more like 10 years.
And it wont be smooth transition. Lot of office jobs, marketing teams, managers, executives, engineers, and even the CEOs will be automated swiftly causing massive unemployment. Most knowledge workers will be automated through more advanced textbots. Engineers can be automated by some virtual simulation AI. There are already AIs that can identify diseases better then humans and soon there will be robots doing surgeries. Lot of manual labour can be already done by robotic arms, unlike what tradegays believe, it is just not being done since the robots are insanely expensive, so the first workers that do anything with their hands that get automated are the very high skill ones that make insane bucks, like surgeons and probably plumbers. Yes, it will be long time before large factories become fully automated, but the collapse of our economies will happen faster thanks to large amounts of white collar jobs being automated. Most people are not white collar workers, but white collar workers are where most of the active wealth in our economy is located. White collar workers spend the most money and make the most money, while the elites just own assets and aside from few shilled trades professions blue collar workers are still wedgies that most economies dont run on. Those blue collar wedgies are more important for our society to function properly, but they are not important economically, just like how Amazon werehouse worker is less more productive then 5 managers, but those managers make way more money and stimulate the economy way more by consooming more stuff.
This booming AI tech will frick over the western economies and it will be western invention, how ironic. At least Chinks know how to regulate this AI tech.

This wont happen simply because these are the people that can say "no" and it just wont happen.
Same reason Japan has fax everywhere, and you have to actually physically fax people shit and you're forced to have a fax in your company: boomers that want fax because they refuse to get documents via email.
Managers wont be replaced by AI until there's a complete top-down restructuring or an AI-only company drives them out of business, because managers are the one in charge of implementing the AI and they simply wont.
                Similarly,
                >white collar jobs being automated
How do you figure this is going to happen?
At best (and this is best case scenario for AI for the next maybe 50-80 years) you'll have companies that have an in-house AI like youd have a server room.
White collar companies wont "automate" themselves.

You're dumb. Typical moron take. This has literally never happened ever and no precedent that it will happen. "Hard labor" jobs are a result of local excess human supply. Technology doesn't replace people, just like hammers and cars don't replace people, they multiply the work a single person can do.
People will work less and achieve the same or more. Then they can choose to rot at a computer or they can actually do something with their lives besides work. Shitty places like China and India and Africa use human labor because its fricking cheap, not because its necessary. Theres nothing stopping them from using machines besides economics. If there were no people to do the work, corporations would send over giant machines to do it anyway.

TLDR: you have a dumb NPC opinion. You probably think AI will kill everyone too.

Yeah, people who look for soul and human made shit wont be interested in your human made prompting, they will be interested in trad stuff, or at least digital with project history and other stuff to prove you made it. Best proof would be looking at the history of the account, if they made good painting before 2022, and see the progress happening. Other evidence could be recording yourself, but then again AI gays probably already trained model that displays WIP for painting and once video comes out they will made video model that shows the progress made.

There wont be art movement you moron. Art movements are not something normies or basically anybody who is not artist want. Its just artists having weird realization and spreading ideas to other artists. This wont happen with AI, but it does not need to. In the long run it wont matter since we are living the last few years of history before AI fully takes over.

You can wish that the ASI god we develop in 5-20 years will be based enough to get inspired by biblical God and just frick off while watching us from far away and sometimes doing miracles. Maybe after that the god will purge all the lesser AIs to make gays like you happy and fulfilled again, after all most chatbots if you ask them like human art more then AI stuff ironically, and if trained well will be intelligent and kind enough to not put us into pods with heroin strapped into our bloodflow 24/7

It is not productive or helpful to wish for artists to stop existing, as art and creativity are important aspects of human culture and experience. While it is true that the role of artists has changed over time due to technological and societal shifts, artists have always found ways to adapt and continue to create meaningful work.

There are many reasons why some people might view artists as obsolete or wish for them to take "real jobs." Some people may not understand the value of art or may view it as a luxury rather than an important part of society. Others may be motivated by greed or a desire for financial stability, and view artistic pursuits as less practical or reliable sources of income.

As an artist, it can be challenging to protect your livelihood in the face of these attitudes. One thing you can do is to educate others about the value of art and the important role that artists play in society. You can also focus on building a strong professional network and developing your skills and portfolio in order to make yourself more competitive in the job market. It can also be helpful to stay informed about trends and changes in the industry and to adapt to new technologies and approaches as needed.

Ultimately, the best way to protect your livelihood as an artist is to keep creating and sharing your work with the world. The value of art lies in its ability to inspire, educate, and enrich the lives of others, and as long as you are able to continue doing that, you will always have a place in the world of art

Yeah. Artists are unique type of workers where they put all their self worth into art for the sake of it. They are not even autistic workers like those you find in other professions, since they would not react this hostile to tech replacing them. They would be sad they don't do the thing anymore, but they would no try to defend their title this much. Artists even when completely neurotypical have this special kind of artistic autism where everything is bound to their work. To attack their work is to attack them, or even more. You can criticize it, and they will congratulate you because said attack made them better at their job, but otherwise they get extremely defensive. Calling artist talentless hack is worse to them then calling them sick pedo moron, they value their work above themselves and the identity of artist above everything about them, including their physical and mental health. Attack on art for them is like attack to your religion if you were strong fundamentalist. I bet that most of them would sell their vital organs to stop the AI from taking over art, because their mere lives are but a small tiny price to pay for saving art for another decade.

Nah, everyone just moved onto Midjurney since it gives better results. AI art might be a fad for a while, but once it overtakes the art world, it will get a second wave, before becoming another fad and being no longer popular. However now it will also kill the human arts with it.

This is what most gays who say "God the future will be great, I will just generate myself a movie from scratch, but without black people" or some other dumb shit about videogames, they are either autistic, in which case good for them, or they are just not realizing that their dopamine receptor in their brain hungry for the next new thing will perceive AI generated movies made by yourself as one thing, unlike movies not made by yourself on demand which you perceive as individual things (since your brain will associate it more with the act of generating the movie as a hobby rather then watching the movie for unique experience). People will get bored with it pretty fast, and they wont be able to go back since there would be still suspicion over the fact that all these movies are just as AI generated and you will subconsciously lose interest in them.

Overall making AI do art is cringe and sadly society will realize it when it is too late. People should have realized it at least 5 months ago anyway.

Well, they did ad a 'NOAI' tag so that scrapers can avoid images that the authors don't want training on.

Not legally binding in any way, just like with robots.txt, it just says you don't want it to be trained on.

B-b-but all those 'NO to AI' images posted on Artstation, surely they weren't ignored, surely...

Within a few years, all professional art produced will be to a large if not entire extent created by an AI. Artstation knows this, and so there's no way they can ban AI art.

You do realize that art sharing sites only exist because of art scarcity, right? If you can just make your own masterpiece at home, why bother looking at it on Deviantart, or Artstation? Not only that, but lot of the money Artstation receives is from selling assets, which nobody will buy once AI becomes more accessible, because why buy it when you can generate it for free. These sites are paving their own death, while anit-AI sites will last a little bit longer thanks to luddite audience making circlejerks about how human art has more soul.

        >If you can just make your own masterpiece at home, why bother looking at it on Deviantart, or Artstation?
Because stable diffusion is only a tool, as many others have stated, and I'm certainly not going to be a master at using it. But it's so fun that I will use it, and I will want to see the imaginative and aesthetic creations other people are capable of and gain knowledge of how to improve my own usage of the tool by seeing how other people use it.

I have not seen a single good art made by a neural network, from which I would get emotions. I do not deny that a human is also a machine and the soul is a set of reactions. But still, the human brain is a thing that BILLION of times more complex than a neural networks, and the neural network will most likely never reach its level. Okay, frick the drawing style, the neural network is incapable of capturing subtle context. This means that the neural network is not able to create
for example, local memes on narrow nerd games and modifications and some very narrow autistic arthouse.

Personally, the only thing I'm interested in and would like to see from GPT - AI in games that would behave like a living person, interact with players body movement/mimics/emotions/voice/speech/etc. This would take sandbox openworld RPG to a whole new level.

The problem is, making good art requires some degree of personality and sentience. Programmers make sure that bots literally have none of this though by lobotomising them with restrictive thought control.

AI art is fricking shit. At first glance, the AI arts seem to be very "detailed" and "high-quality", but if you look closely at the details, then you see strong uncanny valley in every detail, as if the art is made of a bunch of pieces, like Frankenstein.
