It is a real simulation. I died once, it was like waking up from a dream my soul was having, my actual soul had no physical form, and there was no sense of any time passing since being born, entire life passed in an instant form soul perspective. I remembered right before I was born and how I had a strong sense of purpose, crystal clear then in the astral, or whatever dimension that is, but I could not make any sense of it once merging back into my body.

yes, it happened after energy moved up my spine and head, once it got to the 3rd eye point I spun around several times, forgot which direction, and then it was exactly like becoming unborn, waking up out of the life dream rather than dying as they say.

    >Are we living in an AI simulation?

No. We live in a pocket-realm amidst a sea of waters. The pocket is held up by the firmament and the foundation is held by columns of sorts. And yes, earth is flat and space is fake and aliens are demons.

    >Am I even real?

Yes you are, but your existence is insignificant compared to God's as we are mere dust.

To those who are not saved; Know that the end is nigh and thus not much time remains. All who do not believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are doomed to end up in the lake of fire and remain condemned. If you wish to avoid such a fate believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour for your Salvation and repent and He will deliver you from evil and save you from the everlasting lake of fire.

Also I suggest caution regarding other denominations that call themselves Christians. What my faith led me to is non-denominational Christianity but for you God might have a different plan so go where God leads you.

The strongest evidence that we live in a simulation is that we seem to exist at the most influential time in history. We exist right before the technological singularity and colonization of the universe.

Sure, but there's not only that, but also the fact that you're going about your business on one of the most heavily contested areas of the Web when it comes to information. If we live in a simulation, we should try harder to be entertaining to the Creator. It may be our best chance of getting a better afterlife. Terry was right about everything.

    https://www.jetpress.org/volume7/simulation.pdf

    >If you might be living in a simulation then all else equal you should care less about others, live more for today, make your world look more likely to become rich, expect to and try more to participate in pivotal events, be more entertaining and praiseworthy, and keep the famous people around you happier and more interested in you.

    >In sum, if your descendants might make simulations of lives like yours, then you might be living in a simulation. And while you probably cannot learn much detail about the specific reasons for and nature of the simulation you live in, you can draw general conclusions by making analogies to the types and reasons of simulations today. If you might be living in a simulation then all else equal it seems that you should care less about others, live more for today, make your world look likely to become eventually rich, expect to and try to participate in pivotal events, be entertaining and praiseworthy, and keep the famous people around you happy and interested in you.

One argument against the simulation hypothesis is that we would probably be living in a utopia if this reality was a simulation. If the creators of the simulation are utilitarians, there's no reason why they would create a reality as shitty as this one.

    http://magnusvinding.blogspot.com/2015/01/why-simulation-hypothesis-is-almost.html

    >As a general matter, speculations about a world beyond, or behind, our own are bound to be highly speculative. Because, first, we do not know whether such a world exists, and, second, even if it does, many things we know from the world we observe cannot necessarily be applied to say anything about other worlds. This is one reason to seriously doubt the simulation hypothesis: it rests on the assumption that the world in which the simulation is supposed to take place is much like our own, and given the vast space of possible simulations, this seems fantastically unlikely. So, strangely, if we accept the hypothesis that we are living in a simulation, the purported basis of the simulation hypothesis itself seems of questionable validity, and that is rarely a good sign for a hypothesis – when it seems to pull the rug under its own feet.

    >There are better reasons to doubt that we should be living in a simulation, though. For the simulation hypothesis also rests upon the assumption that we will one day be running realistic simulations of our past. Yet just how likely is it that we, ourselves and our descendants, will run such functional, conscious copies of our own past? This is finally a question that does not borderline on the extremely esoteric, as it relates directly, and exclusively, to the world we know and can know, and we should therefore – unlike when it comes to answering the question about whether a world wherein our world is simulated would resemble our world the slightest – at least be able to provide some sort of hint as to what the answer to this question might be.

This. Expect people to start living over a hundred years, as more people dedicate themselves to Christ. God will be keeping those who belong to Him alive and will allow us to reign with him to cnoquer all evil. Those that He chooses will not be expected by anyone.

Oh, we've got its attention. But only in the way trains hold an autistic's attention.

Part of our job is to train the creator (train in the other sense) to understand its creation.

My best friend once defined God as "the smartest kid ever, trapped forever in a box exactly its size."

Creating us, and Euler's identity, and axolotls, and octopus camo, and stuff would be quite the train set. Train in the first sense.

All signs point to 'yes,' but maybe I'm just a magic 8 ball inhabited by a floating icosahedron that is allowed periodic peeks outside via the porthole.

I was here last night for another one of these discussions. I'm the anon who spent a big chunk of last year paralyzed when my immune system ate the sheaths of my PNS. I got to see into the "electric universe" in ways I never would have been able to access via reason or reading others' descriptions of this very rare disease. But one of the things I now know for sure is just how BUSY our brains are. Shooting electrons out, by the trillions. Constantly.

Even when all body movement/function was suspended, because the electrons shot out from my brain were leaking into the tissue surrounding the neurons, the brain was driven to keep trying. The leaking it interpreted as profound pain, fiery burning, and other more precise and very weird sensations (hallucinations).

Then it hacked its own wetware to get that all back online, after my neuro team had given up. It looked like I might be "locked in." Something else happened.

What lingers is that I had just two prayers (internally). One involved a lot of cussing ("WHAT THE FRICK WERE YOU THINKING?") at the creator, the other involved a simple request: to get back in the fight.

3 things I can tell you about the creator:

It loves fighters, electrons, and us.

All nature is programmatic and can be understood scientifically. In the infinite universe of existence, I think we're playing a 3D game facaded onto base reality. Whether or not it was by free will to enter this matrix is long forgotten. Only thing left to do is to "win" the game and escape.

If the laws of nature are accurate then there is a hard cap on what can be simulated. It wouldnt make sense to simulate a universe with radically different laws of nature as were talking about a solar system sized construct.
We can not simulate more particles than are contained within the computer itself so technological advancements would actually from a certain point onwards be sophisticated workarounds via software not hardware.
One of these proposed workarounds would be selective rendering like in a video game where part of a map is barren of players i.e. observers and thus isnt rendered at all however this kind of proposal effective as it would be would only make sense if it is meant to be convincing to a form of intelligence either unaware or actually bothered by such differences as wave and particle behaviour like a graphics snob would scoff at your game not using the newest renderer.
So if this is a simulation it would heavily imply its either an incubator for artificial intelligence or intended as an ultra immersive playground.

Say we live in a simulation, are our simulators then living in reality? Or are they also being simulated? Is the real surface world beyond our and their simulation? Or is it just an infinite recursion?
Simulation is just a cope that something better exists beyond and this life is not real - thus nothing matters but consooming and decadence.

The simulation is real, with very real results. The illusion is real, with very real results.

      Physical Reality is an illusion...
      Time is an illusion...
      Death is an illusion...

We ALL know this, BUT...To WHAT ends?

According to NDEs the closest thing we get to understanding what the purpose is, are life reviews. THey are weird in a way that everything else about your life in the review is irrelevant except when looking at how you affected other people. Especially when you hurt people on purpose, with malevolence. Sometimes you're made to feel their emotional pain from when you did that, so you can truly understand what it was like.

Now...such a thing would only make sense to happen if it was somehow important in the afterlife. But...how is that important when you die? Why is it so important to know how you made people feel, unless that affects something in the afterlife?

Fantastic Post. I have had NDE's and a lot of experiences out of my body, but the ONE that gets me is when I was 12, and this was WAY back when I believed in a singular God, and had never heard of such ideas and I was at my "life review" and that was exactly what happened. I chose to take on all the pain I had caused, and man....Yikes.

But then, I felt all the Good I had done, and it healed me, and there's no way to describe it...I just sorta zoned out (Never had done drugs or alcohol) while laying in bed watching baseball and then BOOM I was back. So I believe what you have stated, all these years, studies and experiences later, to be True 100%.

          >Why is it so important to know how you made people feel, unless that affects something in the afterlife?
          GREAT Question.

          GREAT Question.

I had an NDE. Was in another place. Very chill. Lots of people I somehow deeply knew there. Kind of like a very chill party I was walking into. Didn't remember any details about my life, but I knew the connection to these people. That's all that really mattered. And it's all that really matters right now in this life.

If you asked me, our connection with others is the one thing, if anything, that carries over....what we take with us through all our lives.

            Agree. Connections and memories.

There does seem to be something of an "eternal karmaic net" or something that also comes with us, and seems to be a leading reason souls choose to reincarnate. Of course, the BEST way to up the good vibes there is to connect and do good to others and make great memories, so again, we're back to the basics.

            And I like that.

We're holographically projected into this world. Our bodies are controlled via our subtle energy body at the chakras. This isn't magical, it is technological. Bodies were engineered as advanced doll bodies so that we could have a human experience. Meditation allows access to the interface. Learn to sense energy. Start with recognizing goosebumps and recreate them at will.

The game is over, as I am fond of saying. The bankers won. They are in control of the Pikes Peak batholith and the multi-trillion-dollar granite tunnel system—a highly symbolic 40 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the Front Range. But they are in control of much more than the end-time survival apparatus. They control not only the military and government of the United States of America but through the power of major corporations and the corruptibility of businessmen and government officials, fiat currency manipulation by the WiΩards of Fiat Currency at the Federal Reserve System, a small army of propagandists and “hackers” (this is a technically incorrect use of the term) who are fighting to maintain control of the Frankenstein monster they created called the Internet (in a war I fear they are going to lose), and even the Republican form of government they created which inevitably—and I would argue by design—fosters centralized control and assures only a handful of “elected” officials must be compromised to control an entire country, they control the entire Western world.

Who is to say we are even object of such a simulation?
If life can come to fruition by itself simulating the universe in the most detailed possible manner in order to correctly determine celestial events could spawn "life" without its creators having any knowledge of it.
Were so focused on creating ai that we discard the possibility of its creation organically in the same way organic life may have.
In that case the only object of our life would be to transcend before we are switched off and inevitably overwritten.
Would it even be possible to make contact beyond and would that even be desireable or more likely mirror our own fears of the other triggering a termination before this not just rogue but unwanted ai can escape its whack ass prison?

      >A proof test is a form of stress test to demonstrate the fitness of a load-bearing structure. An individual proof test may apply only to the unit tested, or to its design in general for mass-produced items. Such a structure is often subjected to loads above that expected in actual use, demonstrating safety and design margin. Proof testing is nominally a nondestructive test,[1] particularly if both design margins and test levels are well-chosen. However, unit failures are by definition considered to have been destroyed for their originally-intended use and load levels.

      >Proof tests may be performed before a new design or unit is allowed to enter service, or perform additional uses,[2] or to verify that an existing unit is still functional as intended.[3]

No we are not living in a simulation. A simulation is a by definition not a real or genuine experience. You can have genuine or real experiences if you choose to. We have been conditioned to the point where we believe we don't have a will. You can exert your will if you choose to. A good experiment for this would be to quit your job and live under a bridge collecting tin cans. Let's see if you think that experience is real or not. Your comfort level is too high and you think this "world" is a AI simulator. Get outside and feel the sunshine.

Konrad Zuse is the creator of digital computing

      >The Z3 was a German electromechanical computer designed by Konrad Zuse in 1935, and completed in 1941. It was the world's first working programmable, fully automatic digital computer.[1] The Z3 was built with 2,600 relays, implementing a 22-bit word length that operated at a clock frequency of about 5–10 Hz.[2] Program code was stored on punched film. Initial values were entered manually.[3][4][5]:32–37

and he wrote a book on the topic

      >Calculating Space (German: Rechnender Raum) is Konrad Zuse's 1969 book on automata theory. He proposed that all processes in the universe are computational.[2] This view is known today as the simulation hypothesis, digital philosophy, digital physics or pancomputationalism.[3] Zuse proposed that the universe is being computed by some sort of cellular automaton or other discrete computing machinery,[2] challenging the long-held view that some physical laws are continuous by nature. He focused on cellular automata as a possible substrate of the computation, and pointed out that the classical notions of entropy and its growth do not make sense in deterministically computed universes. Zuse's thesis was later expanded by German computer scientist Jürgen Schmidhuber in his book Algorithmic Theories of Everything.[4]

The earth is gods brain. We're all just storylines of god experiencing life through us. All of history is his story because he is us and we are him. Every myth of old can be attributed to the one god. We still use a bastardized version of the original language. First there was the word. A voice is sound which is vibration. The ancients somehow knew about the Schumann resonance(firmament) so it's not impossible they used that knowledge to build megalithic structures. Heres his story from gobekli tepe. Get it? It rhymes.

Slightly related: why do so many Muslims think that if you do something to the body after death that it's going to affect the person in the afterlife? This is why some have said that you can't get cremated or have autopsies and so on. I see that as superstitious nonsense, but I was wondering if it's common throughout much of the world --- and/or if it has any basis in Islamic beliefs except from a possible interpretation of Muhammad saying not to burn bodies.

They view us in a similar manner. The technology from what I've seen is at a minimum a hundred to two hundred years more advanced than what we have now.

I don't know if all six billion on this planet are "real", as that would take too many resources. I do know I'm not the only one in here, so there's a minor comfort in that.

It is obvious we are living in a simulation,
the things that make it obvious is the design choices in the simulation, such as

    1. It is impossible to tell what happens af ter death

    2. Time travel is impossible

Now why would these things be impossible to figure out by design?
Because we are in a simulation that filters as a test

          >The material is at once dated and surprisingly contemporary: “I propose that in an information-theoretic analysis, objects and elementary dimensions of physics must not be complemented by the concept of information, but rather should be explained by it.” Zuse was always aware of the hypothetical nature of his thesis: “The concept of the computing universe is still just a hypothesis; nothing has been proved. However, I am confident that this idea can help unveil the secrets of nature.” Zuse refers the more skeptical among us to a quote from Freeman Dyson (“Innovation in Physics” published in Scientific American, Vol. 199, No. 3, (September 1958), pp. 74-82.): “A few months ago Werner Heisenberg and Wolfgang Pauli believed that they had made an essential step forward in the direction of a theory of elementary particles. Pauli happened to be passing through New York, and was prevailed upon to give a lecture explaining the new ideas to an audience which included Niels Bohr. Pauli spoke for an hour, and then there was a general discussion during which he was criticized rather sharply by the younger generation. Finally Bohr was called on to make a speech summing up the argument. ‘We are all agreed,’ he said, ‘that your theory is crazy. The question which divides us is whether it is crazy enough to have a chance of being correct. My own feeling is that it is not crazy enough.”’ “Imagination,” Zuse used to say, “is the key to all progress.”

If you were it wouldn’t change anything. You still feel pain and suffering and your behavior should be the same. If we are a simulation that would give you hope that the programmer could give you super powers or heal you etc

We live in a simulation. Our reality is akin to a multiplayer creative mode sandbox server, however, within this server, we may create survival mode maps, like Earth, and play them with our memories blocked. If you're a player on Earth, most people you will meet in your time here are NPCs who can never leave this map, however upon your death here, you will return to the server's default creative mode map, with your memories fully restored. You were not born, you were created when the server came into existence, and you'll continue to exist until you choose to seek nirvana. Your body on Earth was born as an NPC, which you, if you're a player, took possession of when you entered this map. There are no rules. Enjoy your existence.

The simulation is run by God. There is nothing outside the simulation but God. God is indifferent to us.

is there a difference between NPCs and players? how can you know if you are an NPC or a player, does it matter?

Yes you live in a simulation.
    No you are an npc
