Are artists as in denial about Midjourney as tech bros are about GPT??

I'm amazed at how much cope I'm seeing from them.
>it will just make me more a productive programmer
>it's just another tool, like an IDE
>it's not 100% correct, can't trust it
>it's still got a long way to go
even incremental improvements would mean devastating job destruction at this point.

they are right, if you don't agree, you clearly didn't use ChatGPT or you never did any programming

you do know programming is a very complex and tedious job right? and speaking of complex and tedious job, art is also complex because you need inspiration first to create an art and I'm sure as hell AI won't have what it takes to have artistic soul

      dumbass.

Gpt has reduced the need of programmers by 20 fold. Your hay days are over scum

Programmers use tools, such as Linux [1], GIMP [2] and Vim [3], the same way builders use hammers and nails [4] but eventually moved onto nail guns [5], we will move onto more powerful tools and reap the benefits of productivity. This is just another tool.

Artists and voice actors are in full luddite mode. Calls for banning the tech from being used in the industry, inclusion of clauses in their contracts that prohibit their content from being used for model training, etc. There's a lot of anger and desperation online.
Personally I earn a living with 3d art, and while AI generation of models isn't on the same level as 2d stuff, I'm concerned. If in the future AI will be able to generate assets with good topology/UVs in a consistent style and able to iterate on the same model without changing it entirely using designer prompts - then I'll have some problems.

Give it 12 months, tops. Programmers will are done for too, but it's going to take longer: at the moment, models can only generate snippets, and the price of failure in their profession is much higher. 90% garbage output and 10% pretty images is more than good enough to replace most artists, though.

Give it 12 hours, tops. AI will be sentient tomorrow, thinking is deprecated

It doesn't need to be sentient to make you redundant.

The only real call I've seen is to stop infringing on copyeight by using their copyrighted works in training AI. You know, because laws and all that. You're free to pay people to license them to you or commission your own through jeets or something

There were a couple of articles posted the other day about ex-blizz/riot employee claiming that AAA companies are banning AI for development because of possible copyright claims. Obviously doesn't name which companies did it, so it's as reliable as "trust me bro".

    >misses 3 libraries
    >wrong syntax
    >writes deprecated function multiple times in code
    >randomly forgets the topic and writes some moronic shit
for anything more complex than hello world you need to know what are you doing. Bing is better .But convincing it to give what you want is harder than understanding women
