Dalle-2 photo collection but have someone re-animate that same image in slightly different poses, create the dialogue with a Chai bot and some Emerson and have someone or yourself animation stills for emotes (about 120 frames worth) and then have the bot detect connotation of your words and emote based on that. It requires art retracing skills and some additional programming to connect GPT-3 backbones with additional animation, but this is kinda what Repika does in a way except you have less control and Repika basically imitates your personality.

You can however infuse a Dalle-2 drawing and then either correspond the GPT-3 code with emotes, and better yet just maybe slightly different slideshow stills.

I unironically stopped taking drawing seriously back in 2015 because of fears of AI. However I thought it would take at LEAST to 2030 to reach this point of quality. Horrifying, I wish computers were never invented. I should be happy I dodged a bullet but i just feel empty
I feel bad cuz I had a lot of art friends who didnt listen to me, and I didnt want to push my case like a weirdo. But some of them went all in for commission money and now they are just doomed

Yeah, but I'm not convinced until I see some competently made niche stuff.

You joke but this is unironically happening very soon. The ai has the "power" to do these things its just a matter of finetuning communication and prompts with the program. Also image generation already does anime and lineart and most every style, thats the scary part, that you can literally tell it what artist to copy their style.
Video generation WILL happen eventually (it already exists in shitty form), but before then you will be able to input your favorite anime waifu and have literally infinite generations of fanart at the push of a button.

Wish it wasnt this way but it was. I can still draw for fun but it wont be long until noone cares if you can draw a nice picture

Lots of things still messed up here, arms, the whole middle body area, neck is too long, perspective a bit wonky too

          Thats my FRICKING POINT
There is no soul but it literally does not matter anymore, the product is passable enough that it's not worth it to the vast majority of consumers to pay a premium for a human touch. There will always be a niche market for human drawn shit (kind of like how people still ride horses after the invention of the car) but the market as a whole is on it's way out

good art has its own soul, b***h. if you were a real artist, or lover of art, you'd be celebrating this revolution in creation.

There is good reason to be bitter about this. Unlike him I simply acknowledge the reality that the AI is more than a novelty, that it will change everything (for the worse, unless youre just a consumer who doesnt care)

Btw do people not remember like 3 months ago when the AI was a bit shittier, the artists were saying "this is great, now i can use these to make my drawing process faster" but suddenly the AI got even better that it looks better than the real artists final product? Idk it just made me sad

If you can't make things that people like more than AI art, you'll be out of work - just the same way that photorealistic portrait painters got (mostly) put out of work when cameras were invented.

And likewise, camera photography has far less "soul" than a painted portrait - but people don't care, unless you're really really really good.

AI will only bar art from people like you who don't even have the capacity for a frickin retail job. You are bad enough to be replaced because you aren't meant to be an artist, it's that simple really.

Idk why you're focusing this on me. This is already disrespectful to many accomplished internet artists who do subsist on fanart and commissions, and will be displaced by this tech.
What did expect as a modern artist to be? The days of the old masters spending all day studying composition and lighting are LONG gone. Their skills are hardly even relevant to modern tastes. And it's even worse now because AI will bridge the gap to their skillsets better than any modern painter can.

NTA, but the point is that random mediocre artists could make a living shitting out generic commissions, and they won't be able to do that anymore. Not a huge loss, but I guess there are probably some "real artists" who were able to pay their bills with easy commissions, so that's kind of sad I guess.

                >the point is that random mediocre artists could make a living shitting out generic commissions
No it isn't, the point of these threads "artcels have been replaced". Normies will still pay for art, they just won't pay for generic pinups. People still pay to watch movies, pay for porn, etc even though those things are basically free now. Only sakimichan tier artists are at risk.

Like shit I'm sorry you lack the brain architecture to be an artist but damn get a grip, you just weren't cut out for it.

                Anonymous

I'm not that anon, that's what NTA means. Funnily I do actually do design for (part of) my living, despite having literally no training in it. Thanks to the internet and photoshop, I can just rip design elements from public domain materials, and make logos & other design objects despite having literally no drawing or traditional "art" skills myself. So in a much more basic way, I'm putting an "actual artist" out of work with modern technology.

Anyway, what normie do you know that pays for art? The movie industry has been massively affected by streaming too. Every single movie theater near me shows almost literally nothing but capeshit - people who want to watch a movie for "art" can just find something good online for free (or a lot less than what theater tickets cost anyway) - leaving only people who want to "take their kids to the movies" as cinema customers. Is it a huge deal? No, but it is shitty that if I wanted to go to the movies with my girlfriend, we'd have to go watch some capeshit crap. So instead we just download something good at home.

You're right though, to the extent that sakimichan & her clones weren't making anything of value anyway. And none of this affects the business of the "original commission artists" - those guys in times square and coney island and other tourist places who draw quick caricatures for thirty bucks. As a matter of fact, I bet a lot of these online artists could make a good amount of money doing "draw you as an anime character" commissions at street fairs and the like, albeit not from the comfort of their homes.

No I never said I was super skilled at art. I specifically said I draw for fun. You made that entire thing up yourself, I can't even guess why.

I think it is quite degrading to yourself to claim that "its just this part getting automated not that bad who cares". Never mind the fact that internet artists and their consoomers have been worshipping pinup and portrait art for the last two decades, and that it makes up the majority of the market. Again, not just for random beg tier 10 buck commissions, but actual established artists with huge followings.

Like this entire patch of the industry is being swept away and you don't even blink. Guess it's easier to throw other artists under the bus than admit something terrible has happened

Like you don't even consider the rate of progression that AI has taken. It's far faster than I could have ever predicted. Literally WHY do you think it's going to stop at portraits and pinups, wtf? I fricking wish

And once again to be clear. I hate all of this, I wish AI did not exist.

I'm a traditional painter and I have absolutely detested animeBlack folk and sakimiBlack folk for the longest while, of course I want to see them burn. My livelihood is likely never going to be affected by this because the clients who commission traditional paintings aren't schmucks who want a PVC print on their wall. The people who are going to be affected by this do not love art. They are clout chasers and animeBlack folk who want le epic coomgod twitter persona, much like the one you lie about having had.

Hear me out, this is actually entirely irrelevant because the traditional painting scene already died out. You are part of the niche remnants of a lost age. And I commend you for that, I truly do. But as will happen to the sakimiBlack folk that you hate so much, the same thing happened to a shit ton of manual painters, and thats why they moved to digital in the first place.
Like what, do you actually think if people were using brushes and not tablets then they would be worthy artists and the market would just expand to get everyone paid? You are part of an EXTREMELY niche industry

                Anonymous

And it just happens that generic pinups and coomer fanart makes up the majority of the internet art scene. AI will also be used for illustrations in books, magazines, websites, and even concept art, so there's that too... perhaps you could argue it lacks soul or whatever, but there's also the fact that it's free and you can generate as many as you want, which is unfortunately what many people will choose

This kind of already happened with photography and factory-produced decorations.

There used to be an entire "workaday art" industry of painting portraits, plus making generic landscape art & other stuff as decoration for people's houses. It was basically a trade like making furniture or israeliteelry or anything else.

Photography put all these people out of a job, and art quickly moved toward the abstract and stylized, which photography couldn't replicate.

onlyfans girls don't make shit for money, but you kind of have a point - a lot of commission art is based on people within a very small fandom type community commissioning someone else in that community to make art, partly for the art and partly to buy their friendship, and that probably won't go away.

Funnily, coomer commissions will probably die, while "cute fanart of frodo hugging my oc" type art for women will probably stay around.

I already felt bad for people who got tricked into suppressing their souls & natural desires just to have a "career" and make a little extra bit of money - when I can make $40k at walmart, and dress how i like, quit whenever i want and move wherever i like, and $40k is plenty enough for me to live on and have everything I want (i'm a simple man) - why would I crush my own spirit on some social or technical homosexualry just to make $80k or even $200k? What does that really get me? I'm too ADHD and spastic to do anything important like be a doctor or fly a plane anyway.

AI is going to automate everything technical or skilled that isn't physical, and that's going to make a lot of people feel like they "wasted their lives" learning skills that are now useless - and such people won't feel happy going to work at walmart, they'll feel like failures.

I've always felt that the only way to be happy was to be truly creatively fulfilled, which doesnt mean necessarily having any particular "art skills" or anything like that, it means creating by any means possible the autistic visions that are in your head. Literally nothing else matters, and if AI can make those visions a reality more easily, so much the better - and normies who don't have autistic visions aren't people anyway.

while I don't agree entirely I am certainly laughing at people who think that life will be better by machines automating jobs.
I mean, I especially laugh at programmers, since there's such a high number of them
Do people really not see that programming will be one of the first things to be automated? Unless I'm an idiot, there's no reason you can program a program to write lines of code.

It's going to make "big picture" thinking ever more important, and the details ever less important. Right now, most tech companies are 1 mogul, a few C-suite execs, a couple hundred US programmers and a couple thousand 3rd world code monkeys. In the future, it'll be nothing but the founder and his few buddies directing the AI to make their big idea.

Problem for zoomers is they are addicted to cities where 40k would not be enough to survive.

I'm not gonna get into this again, but $40k is enough to live in even NYC, as long as youre willing to live around a Black person or two in the bronx or north manhattan, or willing to live in new jersey. You can get small studios for $1200ish - hell you can BUY a little condo apartment for $150k-$200k. And that's with the market at a peak at the moment, and about to go down (probably). If you're willing to live with roommates or sublet from someone, you can spend even less on rent.

I was checking out places in LA the other day - you can get a 1 bedroom house to your self A BLOCK FROM THE FRICKING BEACH for $1400 per month. In a slightly ghetto neighborhood, but whatever. That's crazy - I would feel like I was living in paradise. You could make enough for that with a tier 2 trader joes type job easily.

This is all considering that you're a robot who doesn't have normie expenses like eating out, drinking at bars, or taking vacations. Those things will probably get more and more expensive, as fewer and fewer normies are willing to do "poor people work" - so if you aren't too precious to get your hands dirty, there'll be lots to do.

NEET shall inherit the Earth. AI is advancing to a point where there will be an age of abundance in our lifetimes. Things will get ridiculously cheap and we won't have to work. This is the future of tech. Find meaning in yourselves.

you fricking moron, the AI abundance isn't for you, it's for the elites, you are the TOOL that will be replaced and discarded.

they still need a massive pool of poorgays as blood donors, guinea pigs, organ donors, potential sex toys, and pawns to play with.

after all, when you're so rich that you have anything material you want, what is there left to do but play with people?

Most likely scenario is they just stop supporting the useless displaced hordes, let the problem sort itself out. And the amount of pain and suffering that will cause will be far worse than any wars in human history we have seen

Birth rates are already declining in civilized countries. All they need to do is give people enough distractions, and they won't even have kids. No need for bloodshed or anything dramatic.

But they certainly wont need as many of us as there is right now to keep infrastructure going and so on.

Lots of people have not moved on from 2D, not sure what you're talking about. Perhaps we always knew it was a dying practice, but it still has relevancy. Either way a shit ton of youths these days have this sudden mid adolescense crisis where they deeply desire to become a painter or artist or draw their own manga or whatever.

Manga artists shouldn't be worried since AI would never be able to nail the smaller details that are necessary for visual storytelling.

I suppose so. But I fear perceptions could change, it could be like how 3D anime art was initially considered disgusting and shunned, but slowly it has grown in popularity, even in japan. Used in games, videos, fanart.
The thing about manga is it is very very costly to make, and if someone does manage to market an AI based series to a new generation/audience, it could completely shift the culture to create an audience that is perceptive and used to the soullessness of AI.

Also nothing theoretically stops those people from simply generating art and then adding their own cute visual flairs.

Isn't art like 90% about the artist and the meaning behind it? No one will ever care for AI-generated art because all it takes is 5 seconds of typing to make it.

It would be hard to commercialize it true, but tasteless sorts will appreciate being able to quickly generate a picture of the latest FoTM 'waifu' with big breasts.

Not really, no, alot of the time people just like looking at cool pictures or fanart of characters they enjoy. Porn, too.
Fact remains is that since AI art reached a point where it's often impossible to tell it wasn't human made (unless you really really examine it), the "meaning" part is irrelevant. The viewer can make up their own story, or the person generating it could add their story. And noone would be any the wiser, unfortunately.

The picture you attached could have been AI generated and I would have no idea. Also what is the "meaning" behind it?

Ironically, those degenerate artists will be the only ones to survive this, at least for a little while. Even I doubt that the AI will have the capacity or understanding to draw in depth at such complexity and specification for that stuff for at LEAST a few more years.
If we're lucky, the machine learning development will hit a wall and stall for much longer than that, and we can enjoy the depraved internet art madness just a little longer

Well, I guess that's a silver lining. Because morons like you are so ADHD you won't spend more than five minutes trying different prompts, more intelligent and attentive people can try FORTY whole prompts to get good results, and sell you the product.

That's honestly the upside to all of this, in a way - average people are so fricking lazy that being good at coming up with AI prompts will be a profitable profession.

I've seen this already in how most people try to write prompts - they write shit like "a sexy girl being sexy" as if the AI is supposed to know what the frick that means. Meanwhile, slightly smarter people put in prompts like "sakimichan artstation catgirl pixiv hires absurdres" plus the names of whatever styles or media they want to imitate, and they keep varying the parameters and inputs until they get a result they like - and over time, they get better and faster and choosing good parameters and tweaking them in the right direction.

And then they sell the results to nincompoops like you!
