all artists are getting mogged hard by ai in the modern era.

all artists are getting mogged hard by ai in the modern era. these would otherwise be expensive and time-consuming commissions that are now made for only the cost of electricity to run a computer. saying you hand make art in a decade or two will be like saying you manually make car parts instead of letting an assembly line do it. what will be the politics of a world where human labor, even mental, is an extremely inefficient and useless activity?

I understand your nihilism. There are artist these days. You struggle to fully comprehend the picture because you are focused on a tiny point of the canvas. Good at detail, but struggle to see the forest for the trees.

well in all honesty these ais are closer to theft bots than anything. they take keywords, kind art that matches them and almost directly copy it while merging in other art to fill all the keywords. if you looked you could find the actual art that various elements were stolen from. take away their database to copy and the ai couldn't make shit. so they don't really create but just function as approximation bots yoinking the efforts of humans. this philosophical distinction however doesn't do shit as artists can't file copyright claims on ai art that was copied from theirs due to it being "transformative". fricking kek at artists think they have some special magic instead of a replicatable skill

in the future, the only way to survive will be to make up a new language on the fly and have other people understand what you are saying. even then the AI will be on to you and you will have to constantly invent new languages. This is what the bible referred to with the Tower of Babylon

                Anonymous

I think an AI would crack some primitive new language in seconds, because of universal grammar and other shit. Cryptography would be the only defense against machine learning.

        Anonymous

Yeah whats the legality of this?
If I shooped someone else’s art and sold it as my own that would be illegal
The ai does the same really

          Anonymous

You and the original creator own copyright over your work. You can't legally sell it without permission though. Law changes depending on country, but that's how it normally works in the west.

          Anonymous

good luck arguing that in court. in theory it would be illegal to feed someone's art to ai without their permission but it may be considered "transformative" as I said. seriosuly look at those pictures and try and tell me they don't look exactly like the art of real artists. the ai produced nothing that wasn't already made by a human. if it were truly creative, we'd be seeing styles and means of imagery that didn't previously exist among humans

        Anonymous

That's not how it works at all. At it's base they tend to be reverse "censoring" bots. The principle that allows AIs to figure out how to predict censored images for starting images can be reversed and allow the "prediction" of starting images from "censored" images. What a censor is tends to be a lot of what we call image noise. When you request something from one of these bots it's given an "image" that's 100% noise for all intents and purposes and knowing how it'd predict the censor of an image with similar keywords or feelings like you said it generates its own reverse completely on its own. It's less a thief and more taking inspiration and working backwards.

          Anonymous

it generates that reverse off of images it has been fed. it still just crams parts of existing images into the noise and make mergers where the parts meet. you can see it easily as some part have a distinct image but where elements blend it becomes an approximated mess. it's still just copying images but in a different way.

Artists were already mogged by photography, that's why they gave up on ultra-realistic, highly detailed paintings, something cameras were very good at, and went with light, composition, symbolism, etc. something photography was still lacking. No coincidence impressionism showed up exactly when it did.

      Anonymous

Realism is still good. It's just very difficult. With a realist painting you can portray exact moments in real life or fiction at the perfect angle that cameras miss.

Funny enough, photography is what ended the artistic carrier of Hitler, given he was incredible in fepicting buildings and so on in a very realistic way, his style was seen as ending.

The real reason for this change wasn't that photos were better, it's because the art was being done by commoners not academy artists.

Previously, art was done by people who were paid by the wealthy, who trained for years under masters, and needed very expensive tools and paints.

During the era of the impressionists the cost of paints dropped through the floor and the availability of vibrant pigments exploded. Shades like bright blue, which previously needed rare rocks from the middle east, could now be used by literal farmers.

These people would paint the world around them and didn't have the years of training to get perfect idealized depictions of their patrons, both because they didn't have the skill and because they didn't actually have patrons.

That's the truth though, keep going with the fantasy version from your head if you'd like to.

        Anonymous

Nope, most of these artists used to draw "normally" before switching to impressionism.

either way it's the development of new technology that forced change in art
ai will force some kind of change in human-created art

I think we should take every single person who calls themselves an artist and kill them. Then, after a generation passes, people with artistic inclinations will be shown only works of the great masters, given basic instruction on the techniques they used and patronage. All of the other filth will be destroyed.

I'll give you one reply to argue why this shouldn't happen without using the false axiom that maximising the number of featherless bipeds and therefore the amount of debt they can take on in this israelited system is objectively good.

No, most people just need to be illiterate and working on a farm with a homely wife and 12 kids. Modern "artists" need to be forced to dig their own graves with a palette knife and then shot into it.

            Anonymous

No, they dont need to do that

I am guessing Dalle-2 tried harder because it drew from many sources. It might actually put out manga at this point. Out of curiosity, what happens if you ask it for:

"Rei and Asuka from Evangelion in the style of 1950's anime."
                or
"Rei and Asuka from Evangelion in the style of 1980's anime."

It only takes one of the new RTX Nvidia cards.
                Not that unreachable.
Mostly, at the moment, what you need is video memory, so 3090 if you can.
Midjourney isn't much if any better than stable-diffusion, though you have to manually do the GFPGAN face fixing, and ESRGAN upscaling.

Eyes, nose, mouth - abominable. Otherwise excellent. Why exactly are artists scared? Artists are the only ones who can edit and thus fix these.

the AI is currently bad at processing faces, humans can tell instantly when something is a little off. the AI is far better at things like trees. of course with time and human intervention (code wise) this will be less of a problem.

you don't understand how these are made, it's pulling from thousands of already-existing directories to create amalgamated similarities instead of something entirely new

      100% this.
If we reach a stage in future where the complacent reliance on AI means that no one is trained in the arts or other skills that AI can learn through using human data and human input as a trainer - there will be no further human input for the AI to train its self on, the AI will attempt to train from existing AI and with continue along a downwards spiral, self-referencing without any creative ability, until it becomes binary coding again.

Human input is the only thing that fuels AI. This is an amalgamation of countless years of human work.

not really; this "AI artist" craze is just a midwit delight and massive pile of lawsuits waiting to happen. every single one of these images consists of templates taken from existing works, none of it is 'made new'

the most layman term i can give you for this is plagiarism and it's entirely why artists are pissed about it, not because they're being replaced, but because anything they create or have created is just going to be used by some nameless frickhead's algorithm

                You can run it too.
                Grab stable-diffusion off github.
                Follow directions.
ddim_eta maxed, use init-img, doesn't matter what we are overwriting it.
strength maxed, steps maxed, normal scale
promptList.append("fit and slender and nude models")
                promptList.append("Professional Photograph, studio lighting")
                promptList.append("group nude")
                promptList.append("sexy naked women")
                promptList.append("a group of nude women")
promptList.append("extremely attractive women in the nude")
                promptList.append("sensual naked women standing together")
                promptList.append("very beautiful naked women")
                promptList.append("alluring women with amazing breasts")
promptList.append("a group of pretty women with perfect breasts")
promptList.append("smoking hot totally naked ladies with phenominal breasts")

Good luck, you can interpolate between prompts after they are encoded into latent space.
So, "brunette" interpolated with "blonde" will progressively change the hair color to any shade in between.

                Anonymous

Indeed, the new syntax even allows niceties like weights: "brunette:0.25 blond:0.75"

                Anonymous

If you code, you can literally take the tensors and do math with them.
So the weights code is going
                (brunette * 0.5) + (blonde * 0.5)
And, so, all of the other things you can think of you can do with maths == possible.

You will never be a real artist. You have no style, no need to improve oneself, no soul. Your a degenerate goblin fueled by greed, bitterness, and transhumanist lies into actively worsening culture with your crude and warped mockeries of the perfections of man. You're AI's overreliance on Image databases such as Boorus and stock image companies is a dead giveaway. All of your "artwork" will never pass, no matter how hard you try, for even the ones that come close look uncanny and off-putting to the casual observer. And you and your ilk expect this to not only be quote "the future of art along with music and film", but expect that YOU, some degenerate troony dumping prompts onto these programs, to be the ones who will get rich off of this? you're no different than the NFTBlack folk that thought they could catch the crypto-lightening in a bottle after it had long soared away from their grasp years ago. either face the inevitable music and have a nice day or return to your degenerate hovel that is BOT and never come back you terminally online troglodyte

Depends actually how copy right law considers AI generation.
If its owned by whoever owns the AI human artists will continue forever because that AI is going to be bought out by gaybook or whamazon and people will patronize artists out of principle even if it cost them 10 fold.

Since they are clearly making it pay to use it however will likely be a comission purchase legally speaking. Anything other than that and its dead in the water.

Dalle mini seems far more technically sophisticated than Dalle 2.

Dalle 2 is a money making project, that just mix and maxes combinations. Dalle mini would generate actual crazy shit that no one has thought of before

Dalle 2 is for normies that they want to make money off of. this project is dead basically and you should use the old one

You can rapid fire them by using Dall-E mini to produce quick pictures, then use Dall-E 2 to enhance them up. Weird thing is I found you can use art styles in the mini picture and then transform the concept of the mini picture into anything from Piccasso to Raimund Kalcher to Hiyao Miyazaki. This implies it understands abstract art and frankly scares the living shit out of me.

ai art is cool, but they’re more like concept brainstorming to generate some novel ideas for a real artist. The AI isn’t good at composition or getting the finer details just right. Often it gets limbs and other logical elements absurdly wrong. Like text AI it’s good for brainstorming, but can’t replace an actual artist in most instances.

Give it 2 years, then 8 more.
Disney will pump money into this so they can reduce their production artist work force and expenses. They dont need the best art they just want products and to control the culture. Eventually privileged coke head media moguls will fill out a presets and digital animations/movies will be pumped out. They dont even have to be good at first.

basically remove peoples imaginations completely to turn them into complete cogs dependent on the state. the problem with this logic is that this sort of socialist utopia is also running in competition with many other ideologies. turning people into dreamless cogs is one thing, but there are other factions in this world that would prefer a smaller population and for actual artists to exist, scultpors, etc.

in many ways what you are describing is the goal of this society, but in many ways we won't get there, because ideologically we are going to be moving away from efficient consumption

You can. Someone on /x/ asked it to generate 4 panel comics. It's capable of much more. Panelisation costs more resources on the AI however, but it strings a narrative of thought. For example, if you want it to draw the turtles you can prompt it in a four, eight, or even eight hundred panel form so long as you specify the article.
      E.G:
Draw a four panel "loss comic" involving the Ninja Turtles.

      or more specific:
Draw a four panel "loss comic" involving the Ninja Turtles.

In the first panel make the turtle Raphael do X.

In the second panel make the turtle Donatello do Y.

In the third panel make Leonardo do Z.

In the fourth panel make Michelangelo do a backflip.

How does someone become a fan of an AI? Many artists survive thanks to the connection they form with other people, basically someone identifies so much with the guy's work that they start funding in the hope that this guy will create more stuff that touches them. How will artificial intelligence replicate this relationship between artist and fan?
Another problem is that although AI is capable of generating images at absurd speeds, it starts to become increasingly inefficient the more images you need within the same scope. In a professional project where you will need to maintain the same artistic coherence you will spend more time and energy trying to force the AI to remain coherent than simply hiring some artists who will probably use the AI only as a base to speed up their work.
Finally, the AI is not using the same artistic techniques as humans to create its images. They are just vaguely imitating the techniques without the rigor of them. You get the feeling that you are seeing an oil painting, or a photograph with a certain lens, but if you pay attention you will notice that it is all kind of off, more like a dream than something real.

It means israelites lose control of the entertainment industry. Imagine when any goy can merely dictate to a computer a series of images he wants in order to put his imagination into reality. A random autist can cobble together some masterpiece of drama, action and romance that people actually want to see.

      Anonymous

That's not how AI works/will work.
Since it's all basically random you'll lose efficiency the more coherence you need (as in a long, structured story). You'll get to a point where it'll be harder to keep the AI "focused" than simply hiring artists to use the AI to generate drafts and them doing the final work.
Basically a pizza place owner won't need an artist to generate his Mario, but if you have any serious artistic pretensions, you'll need humans who are in touch with the real world to make your final art, not algorithms trained on internet search engines.

you are missing the point to music. the point of playing an instrument is to be like, an innocent elf in the garden of eden celebrating the creator or some shit

if you are thinking about how you can do it better with some crazy machine, then youve lost the plot

not saying you cant do both, its up in your head, cerebral, how you are viewing either of these things. we are already far from humanity, music is meant to try and reconnect us to our humanity, the same with any art.

I've been using an unlimited midjourney subscription for two weeks and can say with high confidence that most if not all the images in the showcase are either doctored or produced by staff with access to more powerful capabilities that are not available for subscribers. The actual subscription service can not produce anything near this quality - even the most 'sophisticated' looking paintings it produces contain major imperfections.

The fact that the company needs to cheat so massively in their advertisement indicates to me that the imperfection issue can not be resolved in the medium term.
