Everybody laughing at artists shitting themselves, but I'm afraid a time will come for coders as well eventually
Look at this pajeet https://youtu.be/tqimFIpYlMA
It can solve leetcode already

>it can only solve dumb shit
>it will only replace codemonkeys
Rember it's improving constantly
should have gone to trades
I'm thinking of cybersec now?
That's not a trade.
Why not? CyberSec includes using both physical and digital communications to do the job.
>calling people on their phones is a trade
call center pajeets can't stop winning
Here is a fun cybersecurity challenge:
Get an AI to leak its fitted weights.
this retard's code never works, AI is a joke
>Rember it's improving constantly
2 more weeks!
remember when AI could only draw ultra deformed dumb shit? Look at it now.
First they laugh at you
Then they threaten you
Then they run to the Evil Capitalists they hate so much.
Then they accept it as truth.
no idea what you're trying to say
Nvm I get it. I'm a retard sorry.
Dumb commie
Don't be redundant anon. That shit gets you replaced.
My bad
Pictures that are clearly ai generated the moment you look at it yeah
you haven't been paying attention then, that's clearly not the case for some of them
lol no
It has:
. won an actual art contest
. fooled BOT simulating a child's cartoon
just saying, miles away from the malformed retarded shit it was producing time ago
One's art, the other's code, both derivative. I'm sure it could come up with an efficient fizz buzz though so either way you're fucked.
>. won an actual art contest
Which is kind of funny because the moment you actually look at the picture with more than a passing glance you'll notice that there's something very very wrong with it.
Looks like your average capeshit movie tbh.
>Capeshit will be replaced by AI made horrors beyond my comprehension during my lifetime
Nice
Disney pretty much admitted they're making them with a machine generated formula. But yeah let's watch Twittergays give them more power by lobbying for tighter copyright laws.
>. won an actual art contest
yes and tlou 2 won tga, your point?
my point is deep down your rectum I'm afraid, no amount of coping will change that
Hard cope lol. Your kinds are the ones who are the most scared of AI
No I could always become an ai programmer
Why didnt you?
Or right, you're a basement dwelling neet.
Quite literally, yes
Worst part is that it's improvisation is incremental.
Might be "slow" progress right now, but wait and see in a few years.
it was trained on dialog, it doesn't know anything about programming
which is even worse because what if they train one for the sole purpose of programming
It is obvious it was trained also on some code, but as
said, it will get so much better and produce less errors as it gets more training data from scripts and GitHub projects and less data from classic conversations.
good morning sir
This code is naive but it kinda solves the problem. The issue is that we know that k fits in long long, but that doesn't mean that N! does. If we pick k to be some sufficiently large prime, like say 101, then we can easily see that it will overflow long before it gets to factorial of 101
cont. I think the proper way to solve the problem must be to factor k, into a product of primes raised to certain powers, and then each prime-power pair will induce a minimum bound on N. By taking the maximum of each bound we will find a number that satisfies them all. Implementing this is left as an exercise for the reader.
Sir, can you show me the artists that lost their jobs thanks to AI? I cant seem to notice anything aside from anecdotes that would happen regardless of AI.
Mobile game studio I work at fired all guys from art assets dep except for junior AD because AI can generate all the item icons and he can just touch it up
kek, donatellos on suicide watch
Tbh its going to be much easier for solo devs to develop games. They will thrive this decade. Autists stay winning
>Mobile game studio
They pop up and shut down every year due to how competitive and hostile the mobile space is. They're lucky to jump ship.
doesn't matter, making games just got much easier thanks to AI and it's no exaggeration that people literally need fewer graphics people now. Generating icons via AI was also my first thought because I was into gamedev.

Might be "slow" progress right now, but wait and see in a few years.
I'm not afraid of it now, I'm afraid of what's going to come in 2-5 years
See you in two weeks!
Artists said that too. Either explain why exactly it will n e v e r reach a point where it can substitute hoomans, or fuck off retard
As someone who works as codemonkey for a an artist i feel some kind of RL shitpost is going in my life rn
>RL shitpost is going in my life rn
tell us
>im working for an artist
Artist AI is on the rise
>im a codemonkey
Codemonkey ai is taking off
There you go
me wants details
!
Why im working for an artist? Someone needs to maintain the website plus i got request like translating sculptures into 3D objects for Blender/Augmented reality bs that will never see the light of day anyway. It pays decently and the art sells like hot cakes, espically small stuff like sculptures and postcards, despite AI art taking off.
>Just try it the next time you are coding
I literally did. The time I spent carefully inspecting what it generated, I could've just coded it myself. Also, especially as someone who codes in C++ for real-time processing, it gives zero fucks about the compiler. Writing code in C or C++ is basically getting cucked by the compiler at all times. Every line you write should be carefully considered for what assembly it could generate. If that's not the case then you shouldn't be using C++. I can see AI destroying the jobs of those who use interpreted languages but compiled, high-performance languages simply require a different mindset and approach to coding that AI provides little utility for (in the long run).
Meant for
I work with python lel but I had the same experience.
Generating code for interpreted languages is surely easier than it is for C++, but languages like python are also easier to write code in, so the advantage of the AI is kinda irrelevant.
That said the system still makes plenty of mistakes and suboptimal decisions. You cannot rely on it at all. All the generated code still needs to be checked by a human, who knows what he is doing.
I think a lot of the fear surrounding this tech from programmers comes from people who have only seen the popular examples shared on twitter/r*ddit and not trying it out for themselves.
Once you actually try to use it for a project the cracks start to appear very quickly.
Is it more efficient than writing all the code yourself? Probably somewhat, but not to the degree most people seem to think.
Artists may genuinely be fucked though, not sure.
Copilot is still miles better as a code helper. The quality of code and the contextual understanding it has are just miles above ChatGPT.
Wen AGI?
Product managers have always been shit at converting user stories into functional requirements even for humans trying to accommodate them. Developers will just be rehired to fill that gap after they realize the pen-pushers they have can't even figure out how to describe an electric kettle to the 'miracle AI'.
Only managerial and c-suite posts will survive the purge.
AI deprecating human programmers coincides with the advent of strong AGI and the singularity. All human jobs will be obsolete then, for better or worse (assuming humanity survives).
This is pretty cool but it also shows that a human has to actually read and improve the code.
There are at least three serious flaws in the code:
1. No user input verification
2. Inefficient implementation of factorial as a recursive function. Simply compute n *= ++n for each iteration.
3. There's no guarantee that n! fits into long long.
4. There's no check for k being prime. Maybe that's ok, but for large k this could improve performance.
Genuine question: who's going to be making the prompts? Nicole from HR? Simon from accounting? Literally who? Would a team of 100 devs be narrowed down to 10, with 2 solid coders actually coding and the other 8 prompting AI, fed on github code that's mostly copied from w3school and GeeksForPajeets?
>a team of 100 devs will be narrowed down to 10, with 2 solid coders actually coding and the other 8 prompting AI, fed on github code that's mostly copied from w3school and GeeksForPajeets
This I think, you described it perfectly
Who knows what will happen in say 10 years or so, but current AI is basically just a more specific version of Google. It improves efficiency sure, but not by the factor of 10. Just try it the next time you are coding.
That you on the pic OP?
No watch the video he's testing ChatGPT on codeforces problems
good morning to you
OP, are you from India by any chance? It's just rare to see indian people on this board and they're the only ones with real working experience I always wanted to ask some questions about the industry
No I'm not and why did you assume that I am, and even if I were I know you hate pajeets so I'd say that I'm not
I noticed from your writing style obviously, say
>even if I were I know you hate pajeets so I'd say that I'm not
means you actually are an indian? I don't know where you've got the idea indians are hated on this board, they're loved actually it's just a meme
And what I said about asking questions is true, so if you're an indian just say bro, nobody hates no one here it's all in your head
Okay so what if I am. What did you want to ask, I worked as a java developer for the longest time in american company
I actually am from India, working in IT as QA. Maybe I can answer your questions
>Everybody laughing at artists shitting themselves, but I'm afraid a time will come for coders as well eventually
I fucking hope it will be the next month or so .
Sweet, I can make my dream video game now.
AI already replaces programmers about as much as it replaces artists.
Which is to say it can only replace someone who lacks any originality or nuance in their work.
Just like the only artists who should fear AI are the ones that make their living making soulless, generic commissions for people who are happy getting something that's "eh, close enough", the only programmers who should be spooked by AI are the ones who do nothing but look up solutions for well known and common problems and pastes it into the code.
I can't imagine someone that useless being able to make a living off of it, so AI (as we know it today) isn't taking anyone's job.
>I can't imagine someone that useless being able to make a living off of it
Oh my sweet summer child
Good, I can run a software design company and never need to hire (you). Or if I do, you will be way more productive
by the time its not spitting out intern tier code Im gonna retire and own several properties
I switched to Quality Assurance, hopefully writing bad e2e tests buys me another 5-10 years
I have literally been getting ChatGPT to write my unit tests this is not the direction you want to be going
AI will not come for coder for at least next 5 years. Current language models have no memory outside of the training process. If you ask any chatbot to generate you 20 pages of text, it will shit itself on the third page because it forgot the context of the first page, no matter how advanced it is. Language models can only read text and then continue the text, but as the text becomes longer the AI will need to remember more and more, thus either being forced to slow down to the point of being unusable, or just read only the latest few paragraphs like it does in most instances.
Yes, it will only replace codemonkies and become better StackOverflow because it will not learn how to make anything aside from short tidbits of code that dont fit together no matter how much it improves trough just different learning methods and given more data+params. And once it finally gets better memory, then it is not just coders getting out of job, it is also doctors, lawyers, managers, CEOs, office workers, marketing agents, low tier researchers, financers, judges, and basically almost all white collar jobs. So no, I am not worried about programmers being replaced, because they will be replaced and then shortly after UBI gets implemented or the world fucking burns from 50+% unemployment rate.
Bumping to save this thread and to make artgays seethe
artcels will seethe
most are shitlibs too so it's doubly nice
based
don't care I'll be independently wealthy by then since Im not a consoomer
how long will paintpigs cope with "lol coders will get replaced too?" literally nobody working in the industry is threatened by this, at most they'll be like "hey a cool new autocomplete" and move on with their day
>Artists will NEVER be replaced! AI can't create art, art requires SOUL and, is... is that AI art? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I-IT CAN'T BE, IT C-ACK!
get rekt gays
but muh sovl
honestly I paint myself and the soul meme is real and most AI pictures dont have it (some do, once in a while there's a gem among generic garbage), but the comissioned hardcore furry gay porn "art" artists make doesnt have soul either and thats all they care about unfortunately
You wont see many interesting paintings online, only twitter/instagram art with stylized faces of different thots, anime tits, and not much else
Those who paint like Monet have nothing to fear unlike seething tweeter trannies with their dumb "NO AI" crossed circles on artstation
hmm... maybe you just have an artistic eye as a fellow artist and can see shit art and good art???
AI will get there in due time.
these stills have more sovl than 99% of all digital art posted online
>I, Robot BTFO
Sonny draws his dreams in that movie. Will Smith was wrong.
Will Smith's point was Sonny can only mimic art, he can't create something unique of his own. The ream Sonny had was programmed in
In this case, providing the correct prompt to an ai is just another abstraction layer but still programming
AI didn't replaced artists you damn technophiles. It is only digital art stuff that got depreciated.
>AI didn't replaced artists
source?
>DA KOMPUTAH TERK ARE JERBS
There are fundamental differences between art and programming that means you can't really directly compare the effects of AI generation.
A person with zero understanding of art can generate art and easily judge whether the output is what they wanted. A person with zero understanding of programming cannot judge whether generated code is what they wanted.
In a sense programming is already prompting, you're just prompting in an exact, unambigious programming language instead of messy natural human language. Often the hard part isn't writing the code, its correctly formulating the problem in the first place, which is the part not automated.
Only the dumbest of retards think that AI will replace any industries and isn't just a tool that all industries will use.
AI isn't replacing industries, it's replacing humans
>Everybody laughing at artists shitting themselves, but I'm afraid a time will come for coders as well eventually
but when AI can replace chief programmer, it's like whole new level, you can't compare to art because art can do no shit with life improvement
Based indian AI. Is this real?
ChatGPT can often give weird solutions. But it is only going to improve by time so that it gives the best possible solution each time. I think when ChatGPT gets upgraded with GPT-4 it is going to give much better responses. Maybe even give some solutions that no human could think of
Ask it for better code
Remember to litter all your code on publicly accessible platforms with swear words and racism.
Good. Can't wait for code monkeys who write terrible js/Java code all day to be replaced by bots. Just like those anime "artists" who shit out the most generic artwork that can easily be replaced by AI.
