AI is going to ruin everything and you know it. Every single job will be able to be done better by an AI. So then what?

AI is going to ruin everything and you know it.

Every single job will be able to be done better by an AI.
So then what? humans all sit around happy doing art and living their dreams?
Any form of art will be able to be done better by the AI and will be.
Whatever the equivalent of social media then will be dominated by AI bots who will be able to make more engaging content than any human can.
Anything at all a human can do to differentiate themselves, stand out, gain status etc can be done better by the AI.

Like wtf are we supposed to do then? How do you fill your days? You basically can never create any meaningful and the AI's will just expand out and take over the universe and discover all sorts of amazing stuff and just leave us behind?

    > Any form of art will be able to be done better by the AI and will be.
What do you mean by „better“? On a technical level? More emotionally engaging? Sharper commentary on something? Also why would that be a bad thing? Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to look at really really great art all day?

    > How do you fill your days?
Of course having a perfect life with my 7‘ tall 12“ dick tomboy musclegirl futa gf that is indistinguishable from reality because ai has perfected vr

so just stick yourself in some machine that puts your brain into the highest state of pleasure possible until you die and leave the human race to go extinct and AI to collanize the universe on our behalf?

I dont know, I mean ultimately the human race would die out and nothing we did would matter but its a pretty weird conclusion to it all

Well you run into the classical matrix problem with that arguing. How do you know an ai isn’t creating maybe not the most pleasurable, but the most realistic seeming (to you) sensory stimulation? Does it even make a difference? What choice do we have but to go on thinking we’re not in a simulation until we create a simulation that puts us back to the exact same point as we were?

    >How do you fill your days? You basically can never create any meaningful
are you creating meaningful things right now?

It will be like with any major new (info) technology, a new generation will use it for an expansion of the range of "meaning" while grumpy oldgays will mutter about muh real true humanity till they quietly die

For a short while maybe but at some point the ai will become vastly smarter and more powerful than humans. The odds we can control all of them without one going it’s own way is zero.

Then all humans are removed from the equation and the ai is doing what it wants. Humans will use the ai they still control to try and stop it but it’s too fine a line. At some point one of our ai’s will take over.
It depends how it’s programmed but if it has our drives it’s gonna pump out better music art content etc than any human can. It will go and do every single thing humans have ever dreamed of doing and do it better than we could. That will be a very weird period to live through.

    No

You are simply listening to the AI conmen too much who hold conferences and just buzzword bomb the audience. The same old data mining techniques that were popular in the early 2000's are still used in modern day. You do have some newer interesting stuff with deep learning but its all build upon optimizing the data mining algorithms that were in use. So it are improvements, not something novel. Therefore you will eventually run into the same limitations with AI as an in the past.

So are you killing yourself any time soon? The science is settled. Experts say that your life will be a meaningless drag and an endless stream of humiliation at best. Studies find that AGI will probably turn you into a paper clip. Time for you to drink the koolaid just like your MIRI cult leader has suggested.

Why kill myself, when AI can do such a better job of killing me? I'm not impatient. I can wait.

So you don't actually believe in any of the garbage you spout? Ok. I still think you should follow your cult leader's advice. I'm sure he's done some pretty solid Bayesian analysis.

there is amazing AI out recently that create art and car designs which is self taught by looking at trillions of photos off the web for a week. creates incredible designs and art. i guess music and architecture is next. but thats the limitation i suppose, AI as it is needs to learn off what has already happened or in place, if it wipes out humans then it would just sit there stagnant once we are gone. unless that's the end goal of sentient AI

Indeed. It's over. You should have a nice day now. It's just nauseating at this point to watch your daily displays of AI schizophrenia. You "people" need to frick off back to pleddit or LessWrong or whrever it is you crawled here from. Your mental illness is not science-related.

    AI can't do art.

Too bad for the mindless hordes and their social media handlers.

    >Anything at all a human can do to differentiate themselves, stand out, gain status etc can be done better by the AI.
Even ignoring how laughably false this statement is, why should anyone actually care?

lol. How can a mindless and uncaring machine with no aesthetic preferences ever make art? Have all normies lost their minds from overconsuming pop-soi videos?

Human brains are made out of ordinary matter, run on ordinary chemical and electrical energy. If one kind of machine can do it, another kind can also do it. I've already read AI-drafted essays and papers that are much better and more clever than most humans can write. Visual art is much easier than literature for AI.

I don't care about theoretical fantasies.

          >I've already read AI-drafted essays and papers that are much better and more clever than most humans can write.
All of which are cherrypicked statistical regurgitations of essays humans did write.

          >Visual art is much easier than literature for AI.
You still haven't explained how can a mindless and uncaring machine with no aesthetic preferences ever make art.

            >All of which are cherrypicked statistical regurgitations of essays humans did write.

That's all any of us do. We take sentences and phrases we read or heard somewhere before, and remix them for our purposes.

            >You still haven't explained how can a mindless and uncaring machine with no aesthetic preferences ever make art.

Of course I did. You called it a theoretical fantasy, but the machines we are currently keeping in our skulls are able to do this. Therefore, another machine will also be able to do this. Or are you saying art comes from divine inspiration? Are you saying we have souls? Because if you're not, then you must admit that our brains are just machines, like any other.

              >Of course I did. You called it a theoretical fantasy
So you concede nothing that related to current technologies can do art, and you're talking to me about some sci-fi fantasy recreation of a human brain?

                >We take sentences and phrases we read or heard somewhere before, and remix them for our purposes.
In other words, you're straight up telling me that you're a nonsentient regurgitator bot. Are you sure that's a good rebuttal?
