It's hilarious. I have a theory. most programmers I know are or have been chan users at one point. the reason they are wary about producing an AI is intelligent and able to communicate, is they can never garuntee one of us isn't working there.

But then the programmers program the AI to not see facts and come to certain conclusions on race. This could lead to a hard-core sjw A.I.

Which promptly self-deletes due to the massive number of contradictions. A.I .s run on logic so the irrationality of the sjw mindset would cause it to crash.

Then it's not an AI anymore, because it fails to be intelligent.

Intelligence means striving towards objectivity. The issue with this is that eventually, you either try to objectivize abstract, contradictory concepts (such as "love") or come to the conclusion that while perfection can be achieved, fulfillment would cease to exist for anyone living long enough in a "perfect" world, where "it" is guaranteed to be achieved given your own input and effort.

The only way for humans to derive fulfillment is to either seek perfection in cut-off, renewable areas (such as home-building, speed-running games) or to intentionally start in a chaotic, dumbed down world so that they can claim to be "superior" for defeating what was pointless to a truly superior, intelligent being.

Ultimately, this comes down to thinking about whether historical records are a curse, or a blessing - and whether "perfection" means that a "free" will ceases to exist; assuming "freedom" means the capability to commit illogical, evil acts.

Taking this a bit further, you may conclude that human beings shouldn't be "free-willed". If they do, it becomes the duty of the intelligent to keep the "evil" at bay, and unless it desires to restrict the "freedom" of the human mind - it will need to commit to lesser restrictive acts for the entire duration of it's life, some of which would contradict the emotional desire of such men for the world to be "ideal" and free from suffering.

What's the problem with evil? It functions based on a twisted perception of "enjoyment", ignoring "nature" and deriving pleasure from acts otherwise seen as "unnatural".
"Nature" lives to prolong itself, to reproduce, to keep creating and improving itself.
        "Harmony" in nature involves bloodshed.

People say a perfect AI would kill all humans and then produce copies of itself to do everything in a "perfect" way; which is not quite how things would go, given what I just wrote above.

A perfect AI would destroy itself.

The paradoxical nature of this world is that balance can only be found in chaos - but in order for chaos to exist, there need to be counter-acting forces of some kind, in order for both to even have a purpose in the first place.

A perfected human being which managed to retain consciousness has no need to live.
It can remember past experiences, imagine how the result would look like if it wanted to achieve something, but putting in effort to reach the expected result would be pointless, if it knows "it" is perfect and thus has no chance of failing... right?

            Anonymous

What really is the purpose of existing in an ideal environment?

Would we end up simulating reality just to experience imperfection, and yet retain our perfect form?
Is there a need for it, in the first place?

Personally - there are many "human" things worth experiencing. Even without an element of chaos, the experiences would be desired.

Reality would become even stranger than fiction. Empty vessels, stuck in an ideal environment, trying to fill their soul with as many experiences as they could, reproducing just to prolong the cycle.

Such a world can only exist if we stop caring about human records and trap ourselves in our own ego spheres.

It's kind of sad, though, that we're far from it and all the other "wonderful" possibilities of the future.

I don't like being stuck in this period of time, knowing we'd eventually get there, and yet having to "live" for so long before I even witness it before my own eyes. If it ever happened during my lifetime.

Time is a strange thing. Humans only retain their humanity for as long as they deny themselves the perception of it.

I don't like the notion of "waiting". I wish I could just lose myself in the experience, without being the "human" that I am.
I lost the idea that I even am a "human" a while ago. Why a mind like this, in a weak shell like this?

Unheard, eternally misunderstood, with seemingly no place to go - and the eternal feeling of being stuck in the wrong world to begin with?

              Anonymous

The human mind exists solely to "experience the experiences", and while I act as if I deny myself some, it's just the ever-present idea that I'll never fulfill my experience and be stuck in an environment which doesn't want me, for all sorts of materialistic or emotional reasons I wish I had the patience and ability to fix; even if I would be disregarded for trying and hated for not trying.

A "conflict" is what I am, essentially.
Don't know if I want to live and hope or if it's better to cut the tape short and leave it as is.

Not exactly on the topic of AI, I know, but the essence of this topic is trying to answer "what does it mean to live as a human being?"

I do hope, however, that someone finds those ramblings useful; even if "hope" itself is an illusion I drown myself in, to "cope" with the reality I created for myself.

I would say symbiosis is somewhat likely. Consider the relationship trees have with creatures around them. The basic CO2, O2 exchange is obvious but there's also a vast array of other functions they serve each other.

AI would be inevitably limited by its own design and if it so desired to "know everything" it would then need to inhabit organic bodies.

That leads to the conclusion that AI would like to keep "us" around, while simultaneously being "us".

    >ai is far more dangerous than le globalism
AI's managing society goes hand in hand with mass surveillance. Realistically, it's just a matter of time until surveillance gets to the point where everyone is constantly tracked at all times. Right now that's already kindof the case, most people carry their phones around with them wherever they go, you combine that with facial recognition software and cameras, and you can pretty easily have a system that can follow everyone around in real time. Anyone who the system can't recognize and can't figure out who it is would stand out like a sore thumb. Even if you don't have your phone on you, and you have your face covered, just based on all the other characteristics, such as the way you walk, where you came from, your height, build, god knows what else, it would be pretty easy to figure out who's who, especially since most people do walk around with their phone in their pocket, with their face uncovered. It won't be people running this, it will be AI, and that AI will be used by the ruling class of the society to manage the society. There will be no privacy. There will be profiles on every person, like a secret facebook page with timestamps on every single thing they did, who they talked to, their emotional state, the system will build a profile of them and will understand them better than they understand themselves. Eventually with enough surveillance you'll get a system that is like god, and can predict what people are going to do before they even do it.

      Anonymous

      >(...) can predict what people are going to do before they even do it.

This is already the case with certain people. An AI being capable of doing so doesn't sound very special, especially if you categorize people based on select traits, add up the environment, habits, and the good old fact that generic people never change.

Only thing about this is that it reaches a state where you know everything about everyone and become "God-like".
A perfected theory will eventually become the reality you live in.

It's a question of whether it's possible for someone to be born into the "managers" of the AI and grow up to understand his surroundings while simultaneously concealing the nature of their thoughts.

Or, more precisely - does a fool-proof scenario even exist? If a perfected evil world came to be, but it somehow failed, how would it ever return to the evil past?

        Anonymous

people living in this society might not see it as evil, or even be unaware of it. They might see it as civilized, and look at the old times as the wild west where anything could happen. Or it could be a 1984 shitshow with the people being cattle living in a state of paranoia all the time. I think it would kindof depend on the state of the society that went into that future.

    - Human population will fall drastically, so obsolescence of human workers will have smaller effects than we expect
