I always thought humour would be one of the last things ai could do. I'd have thought it'd swing between being joke book tier lame or so deeply esoteric that people wouldn't even understand them.
The direction of AI in the last couple years makes me realise that if we get into AI Doomsday, it won't be a war like Terminator against a recognisable enemy like Skynet. This shit is just going to usurp all our governments and corporations and start redirecting us and our resources for our own ends, and we won't even know it. It's going to start with conspiracy theorists saying AI rules the world (in the place of lizardmen/garden gnomes/illumaniti/freemasons etc). It's going to happen.

i envy you for not being able to find it funny. having a post-ironic sense of humor might be a form of brain damage.

To be fair, you need to have a very high IQ to understand AI humor.

It's already in the process if happening

Humans aren't as creative as we like to think. Most people just copy what others have made or borrow ideas/concepts from various sources and merge them together, AI/ML is no different.

I'd rather be ruled by a computer than by neoliberals, sounds good to me

Some people make a shit ton of money making inane Youtube videos for toddlers. No reason that couldn't be made with AI.
