AI exponential growth is pure copium from techbros

>muh advanced AI making Hollywood movies and gta 7
yeah and monke can write a book if you give it infinite time.
Every midwit "knows" how to bruteforce AES-256 but in practice computing it is impossible in reasonable time. Same will be with AI, it's ability doesn't matter if you don't have enough computing power to make use of it.

    >yeah and monke can write a book if you give it infinite time.
However, an AI can write a book if you give it finite time. And please, look at contemporary films and the dialogs that are written for these films. Not only can ChatGPT do better than that now already, it can to better by several orders of magnitude. And the computing power we got suffices easily for that.
In a few years, there will be no writers anymore. Anywhere. Not for books, not for films, no playwrights, nothing. People will simply boycott every work of a human author, because they know it is inferior, and in many cases, infuriatingly dull. Same as self-driving cars. In a few years, an AI driving a car will be statistically safe than a highly experienced driver with decades of experience. We will automate everything and we will delegate absolutely EVERYTHING to AIs. It's mindboggingly stupid to even CONSIDER any other scenario. And it's one of the better proofs that we, as a society must push AIs as aggressively and to the maximal exlusion of human participation as possible.
And I'm not an AI evangelist. I am critical of AIs. I consider my position moderate-critical.

      >Not only can ChatGPT do better than that now already,
      no, it cant
and it cant even follow instructions correctly unless they're extremely basic
and their $10bill servers exceeded capacity long ago

AI has peaked for the foreseeable future
      better chips are needed

So you admit it can do better than most, if not all Hollywood screenwriters.

computers outperformed humans at chess mny years ago but no one gives a shit about them
same will be with every other medium where computer can be better

No one makes real money playing chess. It'll be different when Schlomo has an excuse to fire half of his employees and keep the same profit.

It always starts as bruteforce until better advancements are made. I think there will be plateaus rather than an exponential growth but its still an upward trend

I don’t know about that but at least AI makes programming way faster for me. I do like 4 hours of work a week and my manager praises me. Soon companies will catch on and make programmers do 10x the work

You won't have it, but the government and corporations will. And we all know how trustworthy and ethical those are.

This entire board is full of people who get irrationality angry at the idea AI is getting increasingly useful and will inevitably eclipse all human cognitive processes. They use weird copes saying "gPUs and matrices with numbers could never compete with my special special human brain" and shit like that. It's embarrassing, it's the same kind of shit that makes christ cucks so annoying to talk to.

      >They use weird copes saying "gPUs and matrices with numbers could never compete with my special special human brain" and shit like that
This is correct and only people who don't know what they're talking about say otherwise
Are you the moron I blew the frick out when comparing computational power in the other thread?

Anyone who must insist that he "blew someone the frick out" has not blown someone the frick out. Muh special human brain copers are being proven more wrong every day. Come back with a real argument next time.

This board got flodded with AI-tards who posts science fiction that would be more at home on r/singularity than BOT and now the rational, old posters who know that AI won't be the gamechanger that will kill all jobs and usher in UBI or whatever, even if it's pretty cool tech. This also goes hand in hand with the increase in de-motivational doomerposters which has flooded most of the boards lately.

AI can already make paintings as good as humans. If you were to assume it's just a monkey typewriter thing then it would have had to take 10000 years since it would need to randomly choose every pixel, but it can do it in like 2 seconds.

Comparing brute force algorithms to AI models is idiotic and moronic. Even GPT-4 is better at making anti AI copes than you at this point.
