AI creates more work than it replaces

AI professor now says that altough generative text or voice AI is gonna replace some people from the workplace (call center jobs are utterly eliminated because AI can automatically make the calls and reply in realtime to actual people who say something on the phone) it will ALSO GENERATE new work that takes at least as many people as the ones getting replaced, the work is just different now

>anew work which will be abundant is creating and fine tuning the AI models themselves

>no AI model is being created by using AI:s, a creation of AI involves humans doing it and observing the results before AI is fit for release

>if AI makes 1000 people lose their job because their job literally was doing nothing but being involved with phonecalls or generating wall of text, the AI will also cause 1000 people to gain new jobs within AI companies who develop the AIs, soon they will hire huge amount of peopple

>admittedly getting into an AI job requires a different set of skills than being just a writer for example

>did you know that people involved with computer code spend MOST of their work time doing something else than coding itself? this is despite they have been hired to do programming, in the future AI will do the programming but man is observing the result before releasing the product and man must talk to the client who wants the program AI is about to spew out

I've been saying this forever. Pajeets create jobs for highly skilled whites to fix their shit. AI is like a pajeet but faster.

But Pajeet doesn't improve, its a stagnant technology that hasn't changed for many years. AI does.

AI isn't improving, it's just being hyped by the same sort of scumbags pushing self-checkouts.

ai hasn't imporved at all since I started using the davinci model in 2022, in fact it has only become worse

There only needs to be one AI model that can be copied as many times as necessary to replace everyone working in call centers. You don't need that many people to develop that model.

Get a computer that can load one of the 70B models. OpenAI API is on cost-cutting mode right now.

I hate AI for the simple fact corporations are going to use it to frick everyone over in whatever capacity it can just to frick us over. Literally nothing good will come of giving Microsoft or Amazon the potential AI has to offer.

If your country creates value, sure, there's other jobs and local corporations can be shaken down for more tax to keep things running smoothly.

If your country's economy is based on export of low skill labor to foreign contractors and your economy can't survive without it, sorry, things are going to get much worse than they are and much faster than you think.

This makes zero sense. Do you seriously think some phone support boomer or Walmart greeter can just get a job at openAI?

Also let's say 50k phone support people lose their job tomorrow. There are not 50k open positions at AI companies.

Ok so let's say that openAI wants to double their company size tomorrow, going from 2k to 4k. Of those 2000 new jobs, ex phone support guys aren't going to be qualified for a single position

Frick. I was hoping AI was going to replace me so that I could write code for myself all day long, not having to wageslave away screaming at compiler devs for being pants-on-head moronic.
