      We need a separate board.
It's a fricking disgrace how they're training this board to train non-free AI code with trolling and bait.
If the code is not open source, it's not open.

i asked it to write a javascript function to validate an ethereum address and it didn't work and was overly verbose. Bits of the code were there but it returned false when it was supposed to return true

most chatgpt code results are 95% ok and remaining 5% needs some fixing

More like 0.5% OK unless you ask it about fizzbuzz.

Show it fizzbuzz and ask it to explain the code. Next do the same but replace the modulos with divisions.

                Funny right?
It's one of the first I discovered when playing around to see if chatgpt could actually be used for real work.
It was just a test to see how much it overfitted. I actually found it was rather robust in a lot of ways.
Other things I tested it on: compilation and decompilation. It does the latter much better than the former, if you ever have a SIB byte it automatically dies and it almost never gets the REX prefix right when compiling.
Explaining code when the variable names and comments do not spell out everything that's happening: complete fail on all real-world code segments I tried. The best answer it ever gave me was "it's not clear what the code is doing without more information. It appears the code is comparing two vectors and processing it through a special function". This was incorrect but it successfully identified that there were two vectors at least.
Generating code snippets: I couldn't get it to generate anything useful at all. It can generate the 'homework' version of a snippet, but not the production-ready version, no matter how much you try to get it to iterate and fix it up. It often hallucinated functions (my favorite: a version of mprotect that takes an int* as last argument that is supposed to return the mprotect mode. Trying to point out mprotect has no such signature, it changes the int* to a plain int.......) and so on.
Code fix suggestions: complete fail. It can tell me to add code to check for null quite well, but nothing else. It also (kinda obviously) inserts many spurious null checks.

An AI would have realized there doesn't need to be 4 conditional branches here, the first if statement would be useless if you output a newline AFTER the conditional.

What a waste of cars. Capitalism can be moronic like that sometimes, where people would rather their stuff rot than let others have it for free. Maybe they should be laws against a waste of resources like that?

No, but instead they have laws to buy new ones regularly.

LOL, anon fell for antiwork's false captions of that image. Those cars were seized in Iran because they were being smuggled in by customs and judiciary officials who had been taking bribes to let them in without the proper inspections and duties paid.
