This has always been a meme among amateur programmers only. Sure, if you forget how to write a for loop again, you can "steal" one from Stack Overflow. When you actually write your first substantial program, you might not be so happy about someone stealing it.
I'm not asking for solutions. I know the solutions. I'm telling you that people who repeat the "all programmers steal code" meme are amateur programmers.
>When you actually write your first substantial program, you might not be so happy about someone stealing it.
You're not paid for code-as-a-product. You're usually paid for your ability to add things to existing code.
As a dev for 20 years, I hate writing code because it's just labor. My mind designed the software already, I shouldn't need to spend 3 hours writing modules, looking up library docs, etc. Now I don't.
Essentially because some "artists" can still be in denial since there's no objective way to measure the output
Instead, a program either it works or not, there's no way to cope
But essentially they are both screwed in some sense. Programmers have the advantage that a snippet from chatgpt still needs to be understood in order to verify it
What's even funnier is that true self-driving cars are still decades away, so truckers are still valuable enough to unionize. Programmers are getting mogged because half of them were already just copypasting from Stack Overflow.
Actualjobfags always win in the end.
Anon there is an incredible fundamental difference between physical output and intellectual output. Intellectual output doesn't have a clear "correct" state. A newspaper article could be written a million different ways and still be perfectly fine, and as such is far easier to automate the creation of.
The only people who think AI/robots will replace actual physical labour are people who've never actually done physical labour in their lives. There's just too many unaccountables.
>Self driving cars fail to replace truckers >Stable diffusion fails to replace artists >Code AI is absolutely braindead for projects larger than 1 (one) file
first hint is the eyes then the flawless alien skin then the color on the sheet. Looking at the border of object and checking if the line up is a good method as well.
Seeing “artists” seethe has been the best thing to come out of the AI boom the past year. Imagine how personal their art was to them, how much being an artist was a part of their identity, and now a pile of linear algebra does everything they do but better and for free.
Get fucked.
thats fucking stupid. Its just distracting and pointless
The "artist" uses a shitty cal-arts style and draws self insert comics about being brave and bashing fashies, in reality I could probably kick the shit out of them and I'm literally mentally handicapped.
AI will get subsumed into the box of tools that artists have at their disposal, but it's new right now and people fear change. Musicians already had this debate over sampling in the 80s, now even musicians who don't think they use samples release albums unaware that the mix engineer replaced every drum sound with samples.
>New technology wasn't developed perfectly overnight? Uh, just like I predicted. Now snuggly we should just destroy all this technology, because it already peaked on launch and it will never ever improve. AI has failed.
>New technology is shit? B-b-b-b-but it will get better. All technology always gets better and never stagnates or dies. J-just trust the science. We'll be living in the AGI singularity by 2025 just trust me.
>this kind of technology got better really quickly in its early days >that means it's always going to get better at the same speed or maybe even faster!!! >i don't think it will stagnate or encounter any obstacles that are too difficult to overcome because that never happens to new technology

AI is not technology. AI will be a new species. We haven't even figured out how carbon based life came to be in this world and we are NOT going to understand what will come next either. AI is the natural succession of information in the universe
im kinda shock that the artist are hating so much this ai tools,i think they would be great for thing like frame animation, background desing or npc number 3.
>israeli tranny is mad he might be able to sell merch with his preachy square drawings online anymore >calls it stealing >nothing on his comic is original, there isn't a single original joke ever made, its always either dick in butt, current thing good, tranny shit
AI art is bad
But 90% of "artists" are worse
Their art is just technique, thousands upon thousands of hours of training, but they have no soul
Guess what?
AI is just as good at technique maybe even better and also has no soul
So 90% of the artists are suddenly obsolete
Art nowadays is about the "idea" behind the art, and not the aesthetics or entertainment that the art brings anymore. That's why you see artists defending "Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue" as a satirical masterpiece, while deriding AI art as "soulless".
Another reason is that since most artists are leftist, taking to heart the Gramscian view of culture, they believe that their art slowly but surely progresses society forward. AI art throws a wrench into this, giving the average person whatever art they want without the politics or demoralization that the artist might want to impose. Artists see AI as an existential threat to their role as "cultural influencers".
TLDR Artists are crying since the proles don't depend on their "vanguard" to get good-looking art anymore.
This is it lol.
The whole idea about the idea behind the art being more valuable than the aesthetics is something that's in the favor of AI. The furry/anime commission artists were already churning out soulless works for coomers that ironically are made using requests are very similar to AI prompts.
Nobody would care if Banksy used AI to make the design for his next work since nothing he makes is super complicated or out of this world technical. His art would still have very high value because of his persona and ideas.
>implying artists don't constantly steal from other artists
Also the AI is based because it made the little mermaid white, as she should be. Fuck "MUH DIVERSITY".
AI is already being implemented into Blender, Krita, and GIMP which will let even halfway competent artists touch up out of place and uncanny valley features that are common in AI art.
The """artists"""" complaining about this were never relevant in the high art world in the first place.
I'm an old artist, and these AI tools have been helping me finish and improve my work greatly.
This will be a filter for artists, any artist who can't really create things and use the AI to improve will be cut down. It's just natural selection at work.
You know the types of artists who are getting mad at this, they lack creativity and can only do the same shit over and over agin, same poses, same colors, and they call their stagnation their "style", they can be replaced by machines because they were never artists in the first place.
I use it for coloring mostly, specially for textures.
I draw the base lines and paint some details, then I isolate the parts that I need and use word prompts to make the AI draw the textures necessary. Then I put the result back on the drawing and then I adapt the lines and colors where needed and sometimes I run the entire drawing through the AI again with very low strenght, so it changes very little and just harmonizes the colors.
I also use it a lot to draw chaotic and messy things like rubble, debris and bits of background that are not very important. Basically it is the same as using references but your reference is AI generated.
>Strawman: the comic
Look at image generation images on Bot.info you'll see how terrible AI is and details
yeah, you go to vt where the coomers have more dedication
Notice how different programmers react to chatgpt compared to loser artists
We steal code from each other anyways so it makes no difference. But now we can steal faster
This has always been a meme among amateur programmers only. Sure, if you forget how to write a for loop again, you can "steal" one from Stack Overflow. When you actually write your first substantial program, you might not be so happy about someone stealing it.
Just keep the source code closed
I'm not asking for solutions. I know the solutions. I'm telling you that people who repeat the "all programmers steal code" meme are amateur programmers.
>When you actually write your first substantial program, you might not be so happy about someone stealing it.
You're not paid for code-as-a-product. You're usually paid for your ability to add things to existing code.
>implying i dont MIT license all my hobby projects
idk I've seen more programmers go batshit over chatgpt than I have seen artists do so
No, you haven't. (You) and your ilk are not programmers.
No you haven't.
As a dev for 20 years, I hate writing code because it's just labor. My mind designed the software already, I shouldn't need to spend 3 hours writing modules, looking up library docs, etc. Now I don't.
This. Programming is way more fun when you don't have to worry about code.
This. Now can I have fries with that?
Essentially because some "artists" can still be in denial since there's no objective way to measure the output
Instead, a program either it works or not, there's no way to cope

..you haven't. Everyone who codes is talking about what a blessing chatgpt is for learning and debugging.
chatgpt is not a blessing for debugging, it has accelerated the amount of fucking awful cargo-cult codr being spewed forth.
>chatgpt is not a blessing for debugging, it has accelerated the amount of fucking awful cargo cu- ACK!!!
seethe and cope
Cargo cult code was already being spewed out by most coding camp and outsourced workers.
good, i hated programming anyway
too bad i wasted a decade getting a useless CS degree though
oh well
>a decade
how the fuck
>a decade
Hey me too!
>a decade
no wonder you hate it you fucking suck at it dumbass!
Anyone got one with the the artist wojaks screeching about being replaced while the programmer chad is saying "fucking finally"?
What's even funnier is that true self-driving cars are still decades away, so truckers are still valuable enough to unionize. Programmers are getting mogged because half of them were already just copypasting from Stack Overflow.

The bar for successful art is far lower than the bar for a successfully driven 12 ton wagon.
only bad programmers worry about gpt
only bad artists worry about stablediffusion
good craftsmen will adapt
i like how the ones 10 years ago saying art is in the eye of the beholder are now trying to tell us what art is and isnt.
is this ai too?
You mean you can't identify AI art immediately?
>no hands
>chameleon eyes
what do you think?
first hint is the eyes then the flawless alien skin then the color on the sheet. Looking at the border of object and checking if the line up is a good method as well.
???
Wee need to see vagina to be sure for real.
hiding the hands is a good move
Seeing “artists” seethe has been the best thing to come out of the AI boom the past year. Imagine how personal their art was to them, how much being an artist was a part of their identity, and now a pile of linear algebra does everything they do but better and for free.
Get fucked.
>digital "art"
Ok, but whats with the blobfish.
That's the artist's fursona
thats fucking stupid. Its just distracting and pointless
wtf i hate naggers now
The "artist" uses a shitty cal-arts style and draws self insert comics about being brave and bashing fashies, in reality I could probably kick the shit out of them and I'm literally mentally handicapped.
a deepsea melting to death is cute and heckin wholesome
>the AI knows how to make a white mermaid
AI "Text" is immoral and should be illegal
"AI" text,by which I mean retarded bait threads about le "AI", are immoral and should be suppressed by jannies
artfags are just angry because the fact that AI cant do hands is calling out artists not being able to draw hands themselves
AI will get subsumed into the box of tools that artists have at their disposal, but it's new right now and people fear change. Using other animal skim is cheating so you must skin yourself, no metal knife fag, you will have to cut it with your own teeth.
>New technology wasn't developed perfectly overnight? Uh, just like I predicted. Now snuggly we should just destroy all this technology, because it already peaked on launch and it will never ever improve. AI has failed.
Why are these people like this?
>New technology is shit? B-b-b-b-but it will get better. All technology always gets better and never stagnates or dies. J-just trust the science. We'll be living in the AGI singularity by 2025 just trust me.
Why are these people like this?
Behold, modern technology.
>one kind of technology advanced
>that means all kinds of technology will always advance
Are you retarded?
Behold, modern technology.
>this kind of technology got better really quickly in its early days
>that means it's always going to get better at the same speed or maybe even faster!!!

Dalle sucks at making anything that looks better than a blurry hallucination
I agree that it's immoral but I do consider it art anyway. Also that comic is kinda shit.
I like this video a lot.
The invisible hand draws better than art college dropouts. Accept it.
why it says "fart bot"?
The one on the top right looks like a really detailed piece of raw meat if you squint a bit.
Saying things you know are not true should be punishable by a slow and painful death
Whoa, cool it with the antisemitism
im kinda shock that the artist are hating so much this ai tools,i think they would be great for thing like frame animation, background desing or npc number 3.

sick meme, /b/ro, ebin keks ecks deedee
Now shoo.
if Ai art is so bad, why are artists worried?

I think they're crying because furries with disposable income were big game for them and now that's gone.
This is it lol.
The whole idea about the idea behind the art being more valuable than the aesthetics is something that's in the favor of AI. The furry/anime commission artists were already churning out soulless works for coomers that ironically are made using requests are very similar to AI prompts.

Leftoids are artists because non leftoids actually have to find a job and work to support the weight of society.
idgti
She's a bad artist, her art is bad and ugly
Not even meming but AI art is incredible. Techbros are doing impressive work.
>implying artists don't constantly steal from other artists
Also the AI is based because it made the little mermaid white, as she should be. Fuck "MUH DIVERSITY".
Is that meant to be Adeliene in the OP? Based if so. Anyway, shit thread OP, hope you get into a car accident some time.

How do you use Ai in your workflow?
I wanted to use it to color in my comics, but I don't think it's advanced enough for that yet
I use it for coloring mostly, specially for textures.
I draw the base lines and paint some details, then I isolate the parts that I need and use word prompts to make the AI draw the textures necessary.
