A way to prevent artists' work from getting included in future AI models?

The success of these AI tools seem to be driven by their ability to view/collection millions, billions of light-weight images. Mostly with Common Crawl currently.
If it's made much more complicated/intensive to obtain the image via a script at scale, I wonder if that could successfully counter these tools?

On someone's own site they could maybe provide a robots.txt file. But if artists want to use popular social media sites that aren't using that, would uploading their work as videos with some sort of canned intro to prevent thumbnailing be a good deterrent?

Real artists study nature and hone their craft in solitude. If you've glimpsed another artist's work, then your own "art" is contaminated and unethical. Paying the artist who inspired you is the only way to redeem yourself.

I just scrolled through artstation and holy shit I haven't seen this level of seething in a while. I'd honestly feel bad for them if 99.5% of artists weren't pretentious and unlikable pricks but oh well, time for a lot of them to pick up a trade or something and actually contribute something useful other than just income taxe

    heres an idea
dont post on a public forum if you dont want your "art" "stolen"

since you are a brainlet and will say something like how do artists get their work out
if you do a private showing where only eyeballs are able to view your work then the ai scraper wont have access to it

This would totally kill their ability to get exposure, which is the entire point of people using social media.

try not uploading them to the internet at all lmao - even then maybe someday you'll get hacked because artists are dumb as frick and they will leak to the internet

too late. people are already cataloguing and publishing every artist's derivative work a.i. can pump out under a new a.i. created persona.. usually an anagram of the person's name. So all you would have to do in future is first ask the a.i. to find an anagram of picaso that makes the most sense to sound out. capiso.

If it's on the clearnet it's not able to be protected, everyone knows that. Do not track is ignored, do not crawl is ignored, and anything these people do will be ignored. Whether or not you agree with it or like it is irrelevant. There is money to be made and being sued by some Starbucks barista that posts shit on deviantart isn't much of a deterrent. This is another one of those things where feeling sad and changing your profile picture isn't going to do a thing to change reality. If you want something to be private then don't post it on the internet where the whole world can save it for free.

instead of posting the image, base64 encode the image flatten raw pixel values, tell your audience how to decode and view it. If they dont want to jump through those hoops then they are npcs who are only worthy of soulless ai art

          nobody will decode them.

I will decode and look at them, all of them. Artists will reach pure ecstasy at the very thought of their arts will no longer be violated by the evil matrix multiplications.
